I would think that one would back up their statement with some sort of facts before they are going to make a damaging statement about a place like the Eden. From all the Thailand based forums that I've read and friends who have visited, they have nothing but good words for the Eden and the Eden like Hell Club in Pattaya.

I totally agree with you that "Soi Cowboy is way ahead these days in eroticism, nudity, shows, few LBs, and superior girls. " Even at the soi itself, outside the bars, the girls are not pushy, fun to chat with, and after a little playful tug and shovel, will walk back to their station with a laugh and some witty parting words. Besides that, it's perfectly safe chatting and teasing the girls, even a little hugging and kissing before entering a different bar.
If you need a meal, snacks, grasshoppers they will pop out to get for you, no problems.
My fav place, btw.

Fortunately "she" knocked at a different door and a much shorter guy came out to greet "her" all smiles and kisses. I suppose he knows what he likes ???
Nana Hotel is down market and classless, IMHO. Its not that far to the Dynasty Grande around the corner if you want a much better class of Hotel, for just a little more.
But I understand that unashamed mongers will go for the Nana due to shear convenience.
For bar districts I feel that Soi Cowboy is way ahead these days in eroticism, nudity, shows, few LBs, and superior girls, and can stay at the nearby Livingstones Lodge. Very few Nana bars are worthwhile to me with Angel Witch the only one I found not to be thoroughly boring (although haven't tried them all). But others obviously like Nana district for some reason.

Posts: 836MBK Plaza, some gold shops around the corner from the Nana, and some of the tailor shops I visited.
In all fairness, there was one exception, I am having some suits made at Raja Fashions across from Nana. Did a lot of reading and actually met a guy at the Golden Bar that used him. I am sure I could have gotten suits cheaper (paid about $225 US each) but I wanted to make sure I got a quality suit. Still cheap by US standards.
Anyway, I was treated very nicely there by the staff. The guy who runs the place has great people skills, e.g., witty, interesting, and really puts you at ease.
As for everywhere else, terrible attitude toward foreigners.

I smiply will not patronize a place where staff is a nuisance.
In Pattaya now and will do complete report on Pattya Board when I am finished. However, they seem far more tolerant here (Pattaya) about letting you look around before deciding to buy a drink.

BKK some girls are good talkers but not in English and sometimes I get fed up with their double standard way of thinking. Any thought that could help me make a decision would be welcome.
I think that Thai Girls are very nice if you are nice to them, if they start to bullshit you, then tell them you're not having it and send them away, there always will be another girl that will be willing to take care of you.
Now, a week is enough for you to be able to pull a freebie. Go to MBK or other popular place, talk to some girls, take them eating, movie, dancing.
they should be in your bed by day 3
Good luck with your trip.

Exampe: struck up a brief friendship with one the guys at the security desk, when I brought my "catch of the day" back he asked me and the girl - in perfect english - "any luggage." We all laughed out loud for about a minute.

Hello,
Soon I will travel to Thailand for about 6 weeks. After a week or 2 I wanna make a trip outside Thailand to have a change of taste. I have been to Penang, KL, Siem Reap, Hanoi, Saigon. I wanna travel by travel plane on a direct flight from BKK. Maybe PP will be nice, Jakarta, Philippines. I have been reading around the site but I think it would be nice to have some advice. Will go out of BKK for a week or so. I don't like go go bars that much. I love beergarden style girls or streets around midnight in BKK. Philippines is good for meeting girls that can speak english. BKK some girls are good talkers but not in English and sometimes I get fed up with their double standard way of thinking. Any thought that could help me make a decision would be welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Frits

Billpsu: Nice Report!!
The Go Go staff does overdue the flashlight thing, but grab a seat and check out the girls. If you see one you like on the other side of the room just go to the bathroom and have a closer look on the way. The exception to this is the King's Castle group in Patpong. I was hounded by flashlights and requests for ladydrinks even by the waitresses. I finally left and never went back.
I've been to Angeles once and liked it for a one or two day visit. I got completely bored there quickly and don't even get me started on fiken cherry girls.
Looking forward to your comments especially about Eden. I've never been there before and have read mixed reviews as well.

Hey Billpsu,
I'm glad you mentioned the Nana, it deserves a tribute for the great mongering destination it is. I've been passing through it for almost 20 years and nothing much has changed, except the pool. I'm sure the breakfast is the same as it always was. I'm now mid 40's and spend 2-3 months a year on business in Bangkok and usually stay at the Sheraton or Landmark, both of which are girl friendly but lack the honesty and fun of the Nana.
The thing about the Nana is just that, its absolute honesty. It doesn't pretend to be anything it's not. It's All about the monger. And a monger is nothing more than a man who's true to his nature.
There's no walk of shame. More a walk of fame with mongers displaying their catch of the day, the hour or the half hour.
You will never feel out of place in a packed elevator with a girl who's gone a little over on the makeup and under on the clothing.
Some of the bellhops have been there 20 years plus and they've seen it all. The rooms may be a bit jaded but room quality is not the reason to stay there. It incredibly well run for a mongering operation and its booked out most of the year. You occasionally hear great conversations there, the best I heard was from a Scandinavian guy who woke up to find he'the caught crabs and had covered his genitals in toothpaste and chilli paste on the recommendation of his short time girlfriend. Aaah lessons learn't.
The Nana carpark is a crapshoot, you never know what you'll find there. The fact that it operates is the whole point.
Long live the Nana.

Where did you shop? I do find the street vendors a bit pushy, but I don't think I ever felt mistreated. Of course at MBK, Emporium, etc. they always treat you well, as long as you look like you have money! LOL!
I would agree that the english ability of the girls in the PI, give them that advantage. I have enjoyed my times there, but still prefer Thailand. Angeles still has a place in my heart, though. At least I think it's my heart that's thinking.
I met up with a girl in the Nana car park Sunday night. I was supposed to meet her again last night, but I spent the whole day with freelancers and the soapies and I just did a crash an burn at midnight. Woke up at 4:00am in my clothes and looked at the clock. Uuuugh!
