Posts: 16Giotto and Blunderer, thanks for the advice. If there is a room available, I will be staying at Livingstones at least for my first several days in town. Sounds like a great place to start to get the lay of the land (pun definitely intended). I hope to be able to make reservations in week or so for towards the end of November.

I've never (in a metric boatload of trips) been asked for anything of the sort. If you want to be really safe, buy yourself a high priced fully refundable, then cash it when in country. If I got questioned, I'd just say I was taking the train to Malaysia in a couple of weeks.

Most of the hotels take American Express cards. We do, too. The major discos also, not sure about smaller bars.

Hello,
Do most hotels take American Express in Thailand. I'm assuming "yes", but need to make sure. How about there at Livingstones? And how about the bars, discos, etc. I would imagine that's more cash oriented.
Thanks

Posts: 16Entering country with one way ticket?
Hello,
I'm wondering if anyone can tell me if I would be allowed entry into the country if I don't have a ticket for a flight taking me out. I'm planning my first trip and it will be extended one, and I don't want to be tied to an itinerary.
Thanks

Good question. Some massage places offer 24 hour outcall service...I just don't know which one. Will try to find out.

Posts: 106Late Night/Early Morning Massage?
Good day all,
Other than Sabai Sabai, are there any other decent massage places open past 1AM? I'm due to arrive at LL around 1:30 AM in a few weeks and would be interested in a massage and some other horizontal "refreshment".
Cheers!

You will most likely find girls here at the Sports Lounge, who fulfill those requirements. But - places like Spasso, CM 2 etc. are also friendly and easy places, normal discos as you find them everywhere.
Receptionists: That are the ladies which you find in front of Livingstone's, they bring you in and get you seated somewhere - some of those can be barfined, this are usually ladies working in the Sports Lounge.
Front Desk Staff and Waitresses: Cannot be barfined, this are the socalled "regular" Thai women, whatever that might be (OTH - HELP!!!).

My recommendation is: Make a decision where you stay, Davis or Sheraton .

Giotto,
I am planning to come to bangkok by myself next week and would like a GFE experience LT with english speaking, fun and very good looking (pref stunners) girls. I will be staying at Davis Hotel.
Is there any discos, bars or places I should go for this? I read in the other forums that Grand Hyatt has a good disco for pickups.
Any places you recommend?
Thanks
Giotto
For work reasons I have to stay at the Sheraton Grande. I was hoping to come to the Sports Bar at Livingstones to fulfil the exact requirement stated above. Is my assumption correct? I am not bothered about price but are places like Spasso friendly and easy?
Also I am confused about the references to receptionists and waitresses. can all of them be barfined at livingstones?
Thanks,
Tok

just for information, 1,500 to 2,000 is at the lower end of the price range already - you may find cheaper options in Biergarten Soi 7 or Nana Parking Lot, Thermae - that is it.
A hostess bar is NOT a GoGo bar. The girls are not dancing on poles. They are usually nicely dressed at hostess bars, and sitting with customers, getting invited for drinks, and only if the chemistry is ok between a possible customer and them they consider to go out with him.
Just come to Soi 33 to check it out - the good hostess bars here in the road are Monet, The Office Bar, Livingstone's Sports Lounge and Renoir (later at night). If you don't like it you can move from here to the GoGo Bar area in Soi Cowboy. After 11 pm you then can move to the discos Spass, CM2, Club 88 etc. .

Giotto - what do you mean by hostess bars? Are they not similar to go-go bars?
Thanks both for the advice

Posts: 2533tpl 288, the CONRAD is also a good place, but you will drop some serious green (or in this case, purple), on those women. (5,000 to 7,500).They will look fabulous, will they provide better service than a girl who costs only 1,500 to 2,000? I don't think so.

Spasso in Hyatt Eriwan has a good selection, but the girls are expensive (they ask for THB 5,000 LT, some for more). CM2 in Novotel Siam another option. Hard Rock Cafe ...
Closer to the Davis are the hostess bars in Soi 33.
