Are you, like me tired of all the whining and wimpering about the rise in prices? What do people expect? - that Thailand stay in some time warp? Costs are up for everything here and this even, G_d forbid trickles down to P4P. A good indicator of the reality, for example is something as basic as gasoline which was 9B/litre in 1997 and now is 30+. Ya, I remember when barfines were 300 and BGs, even from Nana would go LT for 1000. But, inflation and market forces hit everthing.
Deal with it, guys or go somewhere else!

From what I have seen a newbie could write a thousand words of complete nonsense that is totall unrelated to anything in reality and it gets recommended for a report of distinction. As to the report you refer it did nothing but ask newbie questions that have been addressed hundreds of times before and all the author had to do was search the forum for the answers. At least no one was rude enough to suggest that he RTFF.

Posts: 12From listening to all this stuff about BKK getting too pricey, I need to get there fast. But the question does pop up, where is the next BKK? Is there a place that reminds you old timers (I mean, men of wisdom) of the way BKK used to be?

At the moment, it's a hold-out. But, it will not last much longer. I'll mourn it a little as I always liked Cowboy as being a somewhat friendly place to go. Although the last time I was there (about a month ago), the girls were a bit more pushy, there were more Japanese (wankers that they are), the girls were quite unattractive and the atmosphere overall was less friendly.
Expect Nana to follow in short order after the King dies. I expect a good deal of the Nana area to be developed, as well in the near future. It's crown land. The Royal Household Bureau is already doing this in other parts of the city: tossing out long-standing leaseholders, taking over the land and developing it. Believe it or not, Nana was once a "Royal" area with palaces and palatial mansions. What it has become in the last 40 years is quite sad, really. But, as Bangkok develops into a regional hub, which has been the plan for sometime, an area like Nana just doesn't fit into the plans. Personally, I won't be sad to see Nana go. I never liked the place and now the atmosphere is oppressive, if not downright hostile. I find the girls to be mediocre, at best and very high on themselves, for no good reason. They're still just ignorant farm-girls with no education, who if it wasn't for this place would be working 12 hour shifts in some factory in Samut Prakan for 3,000/month. Nana is over-run with socially-inept Japanese and Koreans and even Chinese all gawking like 14-y.o. boys with stupid grins and throwing money around like there's no tomorrow. I was there last Saturday for the first time in months. What a fucking shit-hole it is. Why anyone would enjoy going there is beyond me.
Anyway, don't worry, Mr. O., you never go there and the Chinese brothels in Yaowarat and the Indian ones in Phaharat will still be operating well into the future. I assume that Patpong, as shitty as it is will keep running for awhile, as well. And, while out of your price range, the Thai Massage places will never disappear. The same goes for the Thai gogos in Suthisan, at least for now.

I've read the mentioning of a high and low season. I'm assuming this coincides with the weather patterns and we are now into a low season. Is this correct? When does the high season start and end? I'm assuming there may be some benefit in visiting during the low season. Availability and prices.

See the usual haunts, NEP & Cowboy. Check out any bars in the P4P areas.
Pick up a copy of the magazine After Dark. Issue number four has almost nude pics of some stunners in BKK and Pattaya. And where to find them.Last edited by PinkPearl; 11-21-07 at 11:27. Reason: Last sentence added

Need help....Going to Bangkok next month..I usually go to Pattaya, so
I don't know Bangkok well. Where are the massage parlors where the girls
are naked already? I only really know Cupidy, but the pakage is wrapped
and I can't see what I'm getting. I hate how Asian women wear padded bras.
I saw a pic here that showed the fishbowl with the naked girls, but I can't
find it in this website horrible picture find area.
Jackson please do something to make it ez to go to a pic! Just spent 3 hours trying to find that pic.
It takes that much time just to get from Z to T section scrolling thru all those pages. You must be a sadist..
PM is encouraged..thanks...the Gunz

Posts: 1641JimHart, you are exactly correct - South Korea is a good predictor. I agree we have about ten years left, and I would even say that those 10 years will not be much fun. Already every year I have been in Thailand has been shadowed by a sense of impending doom. That said it is better than being back in the Prison, but having come from there, I know exactly where the world is going.
On the bright side.. well actually there is no bright side.
