I have fond memories of the place you refer to in Shanghai. Excellent BBBJCIMWS service. I was also fond of the old BJ factory and similarplaces in Shanghai where they specialize in BBBJ.

Unfortunately, I have not found anything similar in S. China. The closest self-contained facility with on-site service would be a FS sauna or massage place. You might also be able to get away with it in one of the small KTV rooms designed for only 2 people, but there you would be hit with a room charge on top of the tip for the girl.

Another alternative is to rent a hotel room ST if you do not like the environment provided at BBS. It only costs 50-100 RMB for 2-3 hours.

The issue is that you are never sure about the quality of service like you are at "The Pub".

Yeah. The main problem is that I'm just not as familiar with Shenzhen and since I live in HK and can only go up there when I have nothing else happening on my weekends, I never have the opportunity to really get a feel for the scene up there. Reading the forums is a big help, but it's different when you have first hand experience.

I'm going up this weekend, but it's to meet friends for the holidays so not really a good chance to explore the territory either. Ah well. Maybe another time.

ShaZui village is close by on ShaZui road and Furong road. Nothing out in the open anymore, but plenty of cheap "saunas". Saunas are 300-400 all-in, which is pretty cheap for Shenzhen, but girls don't look so good. Mamas will also do lineups but you have to follow them inside first; a high-pressure situation which I do not like.

XiaSha and ShangSha have action too, located a few kms west of ShaZui. Again no BBSs.

Or you can try ShuiWei village, on FuQiang road south of BinHe road.

Note: these places cater to Hongkies of Chinese descent, so if you are white and don't speak much Mandarin/Cantonese it can be a bit trying.

I very much doubt that you would have any problems with the greeters at the Grandview Hotel, as they're getting used to more Westerners, Koreans, Japanese, etc. Just blow by them like you own the place. As for directions there are a few different Grandview Hotels, even in Nanshan. There's another one near the Nanshan Hospital owned by the same group. Easiest way to tell the taxi driver where you want to go is to tell them Kempenski Hotel (Kai Bin Si Ji Jiu Dien). Sorry if my pinyin isn't perfect. I'm definately not a Mandarin teacher.

FYI, you can get FS sauna massage at Haopengyou Sauna on Ho Hai Blvd. , about a 15 min walk. It's 175RMB for a two hour VIP massage, plus the girl (100 HJ-300FS). It's not CP, but it's not bad. Definately a step up from in house BBS. I'll send you a PM with step by step directions.

The Kempinski bills itself as a 5 star hotel, so I'm not surprised at the price or the service. FYI, there's a brand new 4 star hotel (The Grand View Hotel)just around the corner next to the new Rainbow City Shopping Center in Coastal City. The place is really nice and half the price of the Kempinski. Also, you don't need to go all the way to Seibu, as there are options much closer (5 minutes) and much cheaper.

Unlike Seibu, Jusco (LuoHu) and Walmart (Futian) areas, the BBS scene in NANSHAN DISTRICT never seems to be closed by LE.

Remember this is a different district, with different LE and a different customer base.

I have never seen BBS in Shekou, Nanshan (Nanxin Road area), Nanshan Sega strip, or the BBSs in BaiShiZhou or Dachong ever close by LE. Certainly some will go out of business but a new one will open up in the same location or around the corner within seconds.

In Shekou, there are perhaps 25BBS, nanxin area 10+, DaChong 15+, BaiShiZhou 30+ and Nanshan Sega has about 5 or 6 stocked stables possibly available around the clock. Shekou and Nanshan Sega are best for inexperienced mongers, all the other areas require a more adventurous spirit to walk through the villages in search of pink lights.

For those who stay at or near the Crowne Plaza and get tired of the overpriced merchandise at V-Bar, BaiShiZhou is only a 10 minute walk away.

It may not be CP but I will almost certainly find satisfaction in this area without traveling far.

In addition, there are SWs in Shekou and also near the Nanshan SEGA strip.

This is actually in reference to a place in Shanghai that some of you might be famliar with. It is usually referred to as "The Pub", because people don't like to put the real name on the forums (I believe the owners check the forums and don't want their place identified).

In any case, I used to go there quite a bit and really liked just about everything about it. I would love to find something similar in Shenzhen, but I haven't had any luck so far.

If any of you are familiar with the Pub, could you recommend a place in shenzhen that is of similar quality and service? The BBS are okay, and all, but I prefer a slightly nicer environment. Since moving to the South of China I haven't been able to locate a suitable location.

Any help is much appreciated and I will certainly post a report after visiting.

I don't do anything at the Nanshan BBS, it's waaaay too close to home for me. Don't shit where you eat.

As for the crackdowns at the Seibu BBS, it's been going on for months now. Probably a couple times a week, but most crackdowns only last for a few hours. That place is getting too popular and well-known for its own good. Service used to be way better there, it's pretty crappy now.

As for the Seibu SWs, most of them are girls with a regular daytime jobs. They finish work around 6 or so, have dinner, and then bus it to Seibu to make some extra bucks. Usually they have to ride the bus for at least 30 minutes because they don't want their colleagues and friends to know what they do, so they don't show up until 9-10 PM.

Hmmm, sounds like trouble in Seibu as well as CP. Wadman and Yellow Fever #2, have you guys been to our favorite little street in Nanshan lately? Hopefully things there have escaped all the attention by LE.

If anyone is not familiar with this BBS area it's located on Nanshan Blvd. Just North of BinHai Blvd. After you turn right on Nanshan you will see a GoMe Appliances store on your right at the first light you come to. Just a little further on is a McDonalds and after that is the SEGA Electronics Market. The street you want (almost an alley really) is between the two. It has about 5 BBS with a decent selection (just don't compare it with CP). YF2 and I had a very nice time here a couple of weeks ago. Definately a little cleaner than Seibu, but not as much selection.

That's fantastic based on what I saw saturday night. I walked there twice from I think 5pm to 830pm. ALL the shops were closed (5 alleys). I got approached first by a mommie who quietly took me to a 3 floor apartment to look at a young stunner but I had my heart set on a girl I did back in 9/07. It took alot of work to get her. Its my third time into Shenzhen in a bit more than a month; just arrived again today, went to Seibu area and found out that every shop was closed at 8pm!
