Has anyone experience of "sponsoring" a girl in Romania?

What would be a realistic monthly amount to send a girl, to help her with living costs during her time at University?

I am looking for a university student, 18-23 years old, based in Iasi, Galati, Brasov or similar, who would like to spend a few days every month or two with me in Bucharest and abroad (Italy, Spain, Egypt, etc).

I will pay all her travel expenses, take her shopping a little when we spend time together, and am quite happy for her to have a regular boyfriend back home.

Buddy, be careful. Romanian chicks from a very young age know how to use their assets and can have a man wrapped around their fingers within seconds! Even if you are a seasoned 'vet', they will still capture you; it happened to me!

IMHO Bucharest is not at all bad. But ofcourse if you are not careful and don't look after yourself or your wallet then for that matter even Bangkok is bad.

Anyway the Romanian girls are very openminded and they like to dress well too. I don't think that you'll come accross any girl on the street or anywhere whose not dressed properly or doesn't have some make-up on and ofcourse I am talking about girls and not old women.

Also the girls there like to dress fashionably and provocativly with lots of make-up so they should not be mistaken for WGs.

Overall most everywhere you'll find nice, beautiful and sexy looking girls but mainly in the parks, terraces (open air restaurants), malls (Plaza Romania & Bucharest Mall also known as Mall Vitan) during the day and in pubs and clubs during the late hours. Another shopping area in the center is called Unirii, here you will find Magasine Unirii which is a shopping center and full of nice looking women with them you can strike a conversation at one of the 4-5 cafes there. Then there is Piata Unirii which is the Unirii Square and theres a very nice park with fountains here, a lot of girls like to come and sit there also.

The Romanian girls would be more than willing to help a foreginor around the city on friendly terms and then u can see where things go but be careful that almost all the girls are well aware of the fact as to why foreginors come there, so if you try to take them straight to bed then you won't have much chance.

Ofcourse in the evening you may find girls at the clubs with whom you can strike a conversations and after a few drinks they may accompany you.

Anyway it's more or less like any other country but you should be able to play yr cards right.

200 €/week is IMHO not realist.

Difficult nowadays in Bucuresti to find a studio, even spartan, for less than 50 €/day.

Prices of one bedroom apartments have also increased. Minimum 65 € and up to 110€/day. I was in town last weekend and couldn't find anything less than 85 €.

Furthermore you rarely get more than 5% discount for a one week stay, and 10% for two weeks. Romanians are greedy and harsh negotiators.

I used to use their houses at 2005 and 2006. 1 room studios around center were about 30 - 40 €/night. If you rent for a week maybe you can get a discount and the total could be around 200€/week.

But I dont know the rates these days since I had my own apartment.
