I was buying some bananas at a fruit stall opposite the Virgin Hotel, outside the dvd stores, when I felt something move in my right pocket. I turned to my right and there was nobody there, but I continued to turn and saw a guy with his back to me. I knew it had to have been him because he was the only person near. I quickly steped in front of him and accused him of stealing money from my pocket, which he denied. I had some one hundred rmb notes in the pocket. I felt for them and they were still there, maybe some were missing but I wasn't sure. He was trying to walk away but I blocked his path and demanded he return whatever he may have taken. He denied. Said "mei you le". But I continued to block his path. He then flashed tweezers that were about 10 to 12 inches long and 1/2 inche wide. It looked liked a dangerous weapon! More like a straight narrow dagger. I knew that was a threat and I was possible going to get stabbed.
I know some of you guys would have floored the bastard, but I'm not a big guy and not a good fighter. I stepped aside and let him walk.
I later counted my money and it was all there. I had a bunch of other junk in the pocket and maybe the tweezer/knife touch something as I moved.
I thought that maybe the fruit sellers were aware of this guy and remained silent, and possibly somehow in cahoots. But that is just guessing. Maybe?
Cell Phone. I recently found my cellphone case dangling from my belt after getting off a bus, it still had the cellphone in it. How did that happen? Did somebody try to get it? I'm kind of careless with my phone because it's just an old $20 used nokia.
You can get velcro attached to the pocket lips at the cleaners for a few rmb. I paid 5rmb to velcro my back pocket.

CLIPPER HOTEL KTV - CLIP JOINT!!! AVOID AVOID AVOID
The BBS mommie from Hell - Sandy from the Old Jo Jo's who have a habit of refusing to let us leave by sitting on us - has become the Mommie from hell at the Clipper.
First she managed to convince our Shanghai friend (who she knows are used to paying lotsa money to got KTV'ing in shanghai) with all sort of promises.
Well the bill for 3 - yup THREE of us - was RMB 1,256, plus 2 x 200 for 2 KDJ's (even though she had told us it's ok to jsut have 1 DJ when we first came) for a total of 1,556 or RMB 550 for each of us. That for 2 (plus suppossedly 1 free) bottles of red wine mixed with 7 up (do real guys really drink that shit??) and 3 plates of noodles/rice, some satay plus the usual fruit platter - which she insist we pay RMB238 for - and which 99% of the time we SHOULD get gratis!
AND the worst thing about it all is that the "suppossed" model type gals are actually...... the same BBS gals that we all used to bang for RMB 200 each!! Truly crap - and in fact our Shanghai friend, was "reserved" a couple gals by Sandy - one of which is shorty sex bomb Jo er (Joey) which I know most of you had pleasured and who was one of my regular standby when I couldn't get no one else!! OHMIGAWD!!
Crap - truly crap and I would suggest one and all to avoid this clip joint
p.s. the only good thing to come out of my 'travails' at that KTV is that I ended up with a superb 110% GFE, clingy, promise a lifetime of love and devotion little spinner. Excellent (although not from Sandy's herd of course

BTW: FE, it is the principle of the matter with the taxi's, not the actual value of the exchange rate.

After telling everybody to give the taxi guys a break and use their "extra" service, you're telling FP to use the less expensive bus.
FE, which way is it? Are you for the taxi guys or the big bus/van companies?
Shouldn't you applaud FP's use of the 400rmb taxi ride?

You're telling me to contribute to the scam, let them take me for a ride.
So let the taxi guy take me everywhere via the longest route possible? Let the meter start at 30RMB. Wow, I can't wait until I see you ride in one of their taxis and get to your downtown CP hotel in two hours from the CP train station.
We might as well overpay on everything then, cause everybody in China is having a tough time making a living. That's also the USA, HK, and everywhere else in the world. So let's get scammed by all. You are the best victim I have ever met.
It's never about the money, it's about not being a victim. Is it really that hard to ask someone to make a honest living? And the CP taxi guys are doing fine. At times, you find it hard to find an empty taxi.
BTW, you foreigners out there in CP, you have become more and more of a potential pickpocket victim. Just last night, another member almost had his money pickpocketed by one of those long tweezer artists. This is the third such incident I have heard in the last 40 days. Apparently the criminals know where the money lies in CP, in your front pant's pockets (not your back pockets).
Be careful of those tweezers, I understand that they are as pointy as a knife.

Racetrack will bypass the Olympics and instead attempt the triple crown, making his third lap around CP in the first two weeks of August.
He hopes to find some KTV buddies to share the fun and expense. Please PM him if you expect to be around. On the agenda is the Penninsula, JiaYi, and the Hui Hua. He'd also love to find a wingman or two to visit some of the naked KTVs in the environs.
Finally, would love to catch up with the BBS gang as well.

I can confirm that the Miraton was 400 total if you sessioned in your room, as of January 2008. In my two trips to CP, I have had five sauna sessions, always at the Miraton. The first session was the best - the girl was really hot and I was pleasantly surprised by the routine. All of subsequent sessions have been somewhat disappointing as compared to the first one. Only once did I session in my room - the girl was also very hot, but wrapped things up in about an hour (incredibly long BBBJ though). Then she wanted me to order food from room service. After declining, the mood deteriorated. Another session, the girl, who came highly recommended from Simon, turned out to be chubby with her clothes off. Although she was very porno, I was turned off by her appearance and regretted selecting her. But on the whole, if you are staying in the Miraton, the 400RMB is a good deal.
Also, if I recall correctly, for the same price, you are supposed to get two hours during the day and 90 minutes at night.
Next time I hope to check out the Hui Hua and the Virgin suanas. Also, so once mentioned to me that there is a sauna where you get a second trainee for free. Which one is that?

And one mystery is the ktv bill, comes back in all chinese, damn, I don't know if they are ripping me off or not. There are so many other charges that adds up. Oh well, just gotta bite the bullet.

Posts: 592It's not so much complaining itself as much as the THREAT of complaining. Most saunas love to fine the girls. It's a way for them to make money. Even on frivolous things like: a small tear/rip in her uniform, failure to wipe floor with towels and stow them away, etc.
The thing is, your complain has to be legit and you must be able to substantiate it. So legit complaints are:
- she shortchanged you on time
- refused to give you round 2
- didn't go through all 18 or 25 steps (whatever the routine is), e.g. no fire and ice, no buttlicking
- refused to let you wash her pussy and ass in shower (I have actually changed girls because of this)
- refused to blow after, say, 10 minutes
Non-legit complaints:
- she wasn't pretty enough, too fat, tits too small, etc
- she wasn't friendly/GFE
- no anal, no CIM. Anal is not part of the routine, CIM is up to the girl.
Trust me, if you know what you are doing in a sauna (or can pretend successfully) it goes a long way. That's the big difference between sauna and BBS or KTV. Way superior service because of your ability to complain instantly, and saunas actually takes it seriously (the good ones anyway). If there are no managers to greet you on the way out and give you plenty of opportunity to complain, I don't go back (unless it's really cheap). Bad QC, bad service.
One question that sauna girls invariably will ask you is: "is it your first time here?" Always say that you have been there before. She is trying to find out whether you know what the deal is. If you don't know, she will be tempted to shortchange you on all kinds of things. If you don't speak the language (can't complain) she will really have fun with you.
Having said all this, I must admit that the sauna standards in CP are slipping. Business is too good, customers let girls get away with all kinds of things, and this sets a new standard of what sauna service.
