You can visit the most reputable hotels/stores/travel agencies and a single dishonest employee can easily clone, copy or simply write down your credit card numbers. Hopefully, you will get money returned, but then you have the problems of your credit file being ruined.

When you are asked the question of credit or debit, select credit, because then you receive alot of protection due to consumer protection laws for credit cards, you do not receive the same protection when you select debit.

Another advantage of selecting debit for example when you visit a gas station is by selecting credit you are asked to enter your zip code, which is alot safer then selecting debit and entering your PIN number. If someone is able to get your PIN, they simply clone the card, and your cash is gone.

Prepaid Cards: A Smart Alternative to Credit Cards

A smart alternative to credit cards is a prepaid debit card with the VISA, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover logo. There are two types: Stored value debit cards that can be reloaded, and giftcards, which expire when the initial purchase value has been spent. These cards allow you to enjoy all the benefits of credit cards, without the typical drawbacks.

Some things cannot be bought with a prepaid card. You cannot use a prepaid card to pay for subscription services (i.e., recurring monthly bills such as cell phone service or gym club membership), for gambling in casinos, and for travel on cruise lines and some international airlines. To rent a car, you must use a regular credit card or debit card before picking up the vehicle. You may use a prepaid card to pay for the auto rental when you return it.

You might not be able to use a prepaid debit card when a preauthorization hold is placed on the card, such as when you are buying gasoline at the pump. It all depends on how much is left on your card, and how much the vendor is reserving for the purchase.

I'm sure some of them do, but only a sadist would do so. Or someone who wishes to deal with card cloning and the like. Otherwise, stick with cash.

Some of the places you named are already clip joints. And taking anything more than a throwaway cell phone, the cash you plan to use, and a copy of your passport to Barrio Santa Fe (La Piscina/Castillo/etc), is so not advisable.

Stick to using credit cards in reputable places. At a minimum, hotels. At maximum, mall stores and supermarkets, where it is charged directly in front of you. Even with restaurants, you open yourself up to being cloned. Doesn't always happen, but sucks ass when it does.

In one night in May, a friend of mine only used his debit card once in Bogota, at the Citibank ATM in Zona Rosa, right in the Zona T. There were bank guards outside, as usual. Wouldn't you know it, his card got cloned and used a few more times. Who knows how it happened, but it did. His bank reimbursed him eventually, but goes to show.

Did one of those used to be the Forte? If so, its built over bank, which used to be a favorite target for the FARC's bombs. They haven't targeted banks for a while, but I reckon they're pretty pissed right now, so caveat emptor.

If you are forced to stay near to the El Dorado Airport I suggest you take a look (www.ghl.com.co) the Hotel Sheraton(Calle 25B Av. El Dorado # 69C-80) or the Hotel Capital (Av. El Dorado # 69A-51). Both hotels are in the salitre area and next to the airport, American Embassy and Comercials Centers like Salitre Plaza and Gran Estación. But, like the friend DoloresThomas said this a dead area for playing.

The Raddison and Windsor are in the north area.

The Santafe area is more close to the Salitre area that the places that I suggested, but I think that to go to Santafe is bad idea if you go alone.

In any way you can go in taxi to Zona Rosa and visit that places.

In this moment I don't know a good and confindential guide.

When you choose your hotel, will look the best opcion for your shopping place.

Salitre area is dead for playing... Just too far away from the main pussy. (An area full of offices and hotels for businessmen who have to work and be really near the airport). Definitely not recommended.

Sofitel Victoria Regia is 86 street with 13, near to Pink Zone and Andino Mall.

Does anyone know if it is GF or is there a fee? It has a fee per girl and when you arrive with the girl, in the desk ask for the ID (cedula).

Steps to introduce in Bogota very fast and safe, if you are new.

1. NIGHT Two blocks from the Victoria regia hotel you can find to Casanova (The North pool) and Extaxis. I think the best place is Casanova. The owner is Italian Men (very fat), but is very very expensive. The time is 11 pm to 4 am. The hous il like 12.

Always I drink to beer, any "gringo" ask for beer...jejejjeje Any girl knows the people like beer but is a colombian guy ask......is terrible.

In Casanova ask for Shopie is very nice girl, she speaks a something english.

Then go to Bar ZHivago, you can to see 30 girls in wendsday, the prices are around of 200k pesos for a ST of 1 1/2 hour, the house fee is 80k. This place is Ok 8 pm to 2 am

2. DAY Abejitas Masages Cra 13 with 82. You can go walking from the hotel, blocks from there.

Opening 9 am and closing around 9 pm. The best hour is 4 pm because all girls are prepared to receive the clients.

Ask for Mafe or Valeria, but you can choose. I dont like the rooms are smaller. You can go to the hotel and the house fee is 40K......I prefered that.

I maybe forced to stay near the airport area.

Based on what I have read the cheaper areas for ladies are near the city. Is there other areas that are also good, but maybe a little more expensive?

Is there any good hotel bars or clubs where there are working ladies?

Some of the customers I am going to be visiting are suggesting hotels like the Raddison, Hotel Windsor and a hotel in the Salitre area.

I do not thing I am going to have a lot of free time till the night time and if I have to stay at one of these hotels I would really like to find a good working girl bar or club to do my shopping some where that is a close taxi ride from my hotel.

When in Bogota in June, I visited the famous La Piscina. It's a nice place, but it looks like the things are not very straightforward there.

The club is divided for two parts. A bigger pool area and a bar area. They have separate procedures regarding drinks and girls. Unfortunately I did not know that and went directly to the pool area. They asked me If I wanted a drink, I asked for a beer, they brought a big (22oz? ) bottle of corona. They asked me if I wanna seat with a black girl who was sitting nearby, I refused, since I like lighter girls and wanted to see what else is there.

There were probably about 20 girls total, a few hot ones. I walked back to the bar area. On the way back they stopped me because I was carrying beer.they though I bought it in the bar. They do not let people in with drinks from outside the pool, so I had to tell them that the beer was ordered in the pool area.

Girls were also kinda divided, some in the pool area, and some in the bar. And a few walking everywhere. I tried to talk to one who was standing next to the pool. I think she was the most beautiful, but did not look friendly. I wanted to check if that's the case, and yes, she looked at me like she does not want to talk and soon went to the bar area. I'm still not sure how it works in the pool area. I did not see an guy coming to a girl and taking her. So maybe you are supposed to ask a waiter to bring a girl you like. In the bar area everything looked much simpler.

Finally couple of girls were passing by my table, and one was really hot, but not as good as the first one who refused talking to me. But this one was very nice and friendly. We looked at each other, and she sat next to me. We talked for a while, then decided to go to a room. The price was 80K for 1/2 hour. I said I'm gonna see how it goes, and them maybe get more time.

When leaving I paid for the beer and redbull, the price for two drinks was ridiculous 50K peso!

When paying for the girl, they also asked to pay for the room, I think about 12K peso in addition to 80K for the girl.

Anyway, the girl's performance was pretty good. I realized that we do not have much time and did not want to wait until somebody knocks the door, so I finished before time was up. The girl asked me why I finished so early, as she wanted more or she wanted me to buy more time. Right after she said that, the time was up. We heard knock in the door.

When leaving the club the guy at the entrance asked for a tip, like he is working really hard for me.

In conclusion, the girl was very good, the club is nice but expensive, they expect you to pay for everything from the entrance fee to the tips on the exit. The drinks are extremely overpriced. I think the best idea is not to go to the pool area and hang in the bar area. Also it's better to ask for the price of drinks before ordering.

In conclusion, the girl was very good, yes, but remenber call the girls and making some conversation. In the bar area the gilrs are looking for the clients to go.
