I spent 2 weeks in Guatemala, first 12 days in Antigua definitely not a place if you want to go mongering. I tried very hard to find an establishment but to no avail. I nevertheless enjoyed my time but definitely not the place to find ladies of the night. On the other hand there were plenty of western backpackers around with lots of drinking, etc. If you have time and patience then I am sure you can get laid! Spent the weekend in Guatemala City and following the advice on the forum visited Venus, Elite and club Paradise. All were ok in terms of safety and general fun. I did not find anything I liked though (I am not that fussy). Met a nice girl in Venus but I just didn’t understand the rules and how to take the girl. I think she wanted to go to my hotel but she wanted me to pay a bar fine of $200 (yes US dollars! ) at this point I thought it best not to go through with the offer. I am not sure if this included her fee and how much time she would spend. In general I don’t think this a great place to monger especially if you don’t speak the language.

Ok hope this helps anybody planning a trip.

Was wondering if any of you cats have ever heard of a place in Guatemala City called Emperador. A buddy of mine said is was a good spot but all I got was the name and the area which is Montserrat. Can anybody help me further with address, quality level, prices etc.?

The pink line is the border between El Salvador and Guatemala.

Thaks for the guidance on here. It came in really helpful when I went to GC recently to see the US beat Guatemala in soccer World Cup qualifying.

The next night I ambled over to the Men's Club in Zona 9. No signs on the street, but the dude with the pump action guarding the mid-range cars (Beemers, VW, Lexus) will tell you that you are at the right place.

Inside, it was loud and kind of smokey, but safe enough (I was patted down at the door) A beer was brought. And it was a reasonable price. Maybe around $5.

As I was surveying the scene, tiny Laura plonked herself in my lap and decided (although I was pretty willing) that I needed to look no further. Most of the ladies present were upper 20's and a little on the larger side. Laura bucked the trend on body type, but hit alll the averages on age. She was a small-boobed spinner, and made it clear that she wanted to party right away. Great no chica bebidas!

I wanted to play in $ rather than using the Q's that had been thrown at me and the other US fans inthe stadium. And the price quoted was $50.

This got me a scant 30 minutes of fully covered but enthusiastic service. CBJ, Cowgirl, Mish and perrito. Normal issue with completing the contract in a condom, and so Laura finished the job by hand with some weird looking black lube!

Gave her about $7 as a tip and was out the door with a spring in my step.

I received a travel warning from the American Embassy today, posted below.

As usual, it is over the top. They tell you not to even go anywhere near the place so as to cover their asses on the remote chance that anything happens.

Nonetheless, take the part about talking to children seriously. The adoption trade in Guatemala has been so shady for so long that the people really do fear that Americans are there to steal their children.

Don't approach or try to talk to any kids and you should be fine.

Rumors of foreigners stealing Guatemalan children have recently surfaced in the area surrounding the Tajumulco Volcano, an area of Guatemala frequented by American tourists. In light of these rumors, the Guatemalan Tourist Assistance Office (ASISTUR) advises – and the Embassy strongly endorses – that American citizens avoid travel to the Tajumulco Volcano and the surrounding region.

Rumors of child stealing have previously resulted in the lynching deaths of several Guatemalan citizens. Although no foreigners have been reported to be the victim of such attacks recently, Americans are reminded to avoid gatherings of agitated people. Avoid close contact with children, including taking photographs, especially in rural areas. Such contact can be viewed with deep alarm and may provoke panic and violence.

I love the chicas from El Salvador.

They are lovely, sweet, and great providers.

However, Cpteasy has grossly misinformed you, as there are not nearly enough of them in Guatemala. I always wished they would send more!

Having lived in Guate for a year, I can assure you that most of the girls come from Nicaragua. Well over half, I would say.

And I love the Nicas.

Next would be the contingent from Honduras. Also some very fine chicas.

The Guatemaltecas make up the third largest group, at least at the clubs most gringos frequent.

Of course, in the lower end clubs geared toward locals, and in the rural areas, and all along La Linea, you will find mostly all native Guatemalan chicas.

Sadly, the Salvadoruenas make a up a much smaller share of the market. There are only slightly more of them than the smattering of Panamanian, Russian and Israeli girls.

You best bet to find them is in Men's Club.

So if you are looking for chicas from El Salvador, I agree with Cpteasy that you would be best served to go there. And I would agree with Cpteasy that the prices as a rule are lower in San Salvador, and yield to his vast knowledge of that country.

However, there is no reason to pass over Guatemala. Lots of fun can be had here.

The dollar took a while to drop in Guatemala, but you'll now get 7.4 quetzales after years at 7.65 or so. Still not too bad.

Cien is more than you have to spend anywhere in Guate except Elite, which is a ripoff joint.

SkmSteve's post below confirms my fondness for Medeterraneo. Other top level clubs in the $80 range are Le Club, Capricho's and Platino's.

For about than half of their price you can find some jewells at Men's Club, Venus, Paradiso, and occasionally Cats.

Ostensibly the cost is for half an hour, but PRIOR to entering the room tip the cleaning lady and politely ask for a little more time. Once I learned to do that, I never got another knock on the door.
