Posts: 4Will be going to Pattaya for work in Oct.
Since the company is paying I would like to stay at a 4 or 5 star resort style hotel with good access to nightlife (but also quiet). Couple of questions:
1) Any recommendations on guest fee free accommodation's in this category? 2) If hotel does have a guest fee - how does it show up on your bill? As you can imagine, I would prefer to avoid convoluted expense account explanations!

Posts: 1584and it's an HOUR away from Pattaya by SLOW BUS, TOO
(Suk is where you get the bus... to Sriracha... to Banglaemung... to Pattaya (still on Suk -- they don't go to the bus station, so you have to cross SUK) which due to the traffic SUCKS when dragging a BAG) stay out from in front of MERCEDES - they have their own gunsight hood ornaments
Going to Chonburi ... ROFLMAO - nothing interesting unless you have connections there ) even Trat is more interesting from an "entertainment" perspective if you can speak Thai

I spent a month in Chonburi once. I was working there, so I had no choice. I discovered that in the middle of the city, there is very little to do except watch CNN in your room. I would avoid it at all costs.

Can anyone help in accomodation in this place? I have 2weeks in Pattaya and I would like to stay at least for a night in this city. However all Chonburi listings are actually Naklua-Pattaya-Jomtien hotels.Or at best the hotel in Sriracha
Dont they have reasonable hotels within walking distance from the main road
from Bangkok to Pattaya if I come by bus? It looked like a big city from the bus the last year I came to Pattaya.I am told its the provincial capital.

RTFF and found your post, thanks for the tip. Owner Vic made it a point to introduce himself and gave good tips. Pub had great food, even had Lao beer.
I was picked up at the airport and arrived at 2am. Silly me, thought all the bars would be closed. Found this lovely at a 2nd street bar.
Would definetly stay at the Vic again,

I was looking for an alternative for Secrets hotel (ended up staying there). I visited one of the A A hotel rooms. The rooms have seen better days long ago. There were no non-smoking rooms in the hotel at all. There is no in-room safety box. In TripAdvisor someone commented they allow minors in their rooms. Low season price 850B. Not my hotel.

Need some help.. Just booked at Nova Platinum but the web site is not too specific about the location. can some one confirm the location. My initial impression was that it was located on second road near boys town. But the google map puts it below the baht bus route on the same street as angle witch.
Thanks in advance. Tofa LOL..

I stayed in one of the cheaper internal rooms - so there was no noise issue there for me - but I don't think that Soi 6 is that noisy at night when you compare it to Soi 7,8 etc.
A couple of other things that I liked was that they also had free wi-fi in the rooms and it has small forum about the other Soi 6 bars. To top it off they sell the best beer in Asia - Beer Laos!
A couple of negative things though - as you say that after the pub closes, the entrance is around the back on Soi 6/1 - which is a LB freelancer area, so if you do go back after your nights activities ladyless the LB's assume that is what you are after and gave me a bit of hassle on a couple of occasions.
I would also say that the rooms have a 'pub feel' to them rather than a feel of a hotel, which might not be to everyones taste.

BTW I am staying in Secrets hotel. I do confirm earlier reports for noisy echoing hallway combined with paper thin doors, smallish rooms and lack of elevator. It is low season so street noise or other customers have not bothered too much. I have been able to sleep at nights; After satisfying the lady of the evening of course Staff is not that friendly either. GF though; first hotel I have been where mini bar includes condoms.
