I am a regular visitor as some regulars might be familiar with my reports.

I am looking forward to coming to Dubai and will stay in Four Points Sheraton during the first week of September which is the start of the month of Ramadan (from 2nd September). My bookings is from 5th September to 10th and from 26th September till 29th (During my going and returning from Canada)

I was in Dubai Last week for a very short stay was at Panorama hotel Bur Dubai, the hotel is Girl Friendly ++ no issues at all but the girl needs to have a copy of the visa plus Dhs 100/- payment. The night manager even advises you to pay cash so that it’ll not appear in the final bill saying " Additional Bed Charges ", well that was a very pleasant thing as I ve had problems with taking girls up to my room during my previous visits where I stayed at Rush Inn, Palm Beach and York definite NO NO s.

I took Wildcat and a few friends to check out Charlie Parrots last night. Great bar with tropical theme. Drinks a little expensive, but food was good and inexpensive. A few tables of gorgeous single young women and a few mixed groups. They have a live duo most nights, but not last night (Sunday). Around 10:30 there were a few PRC WGs in cocktail-party dresses, sitting quietly at the bar looking around for targets. One was very tall with long bleached-blonde hair. Not bad. By midnight many girls were dancing together, but hardly any guys there. Looks like a good place to try for non-WGs, with the back-up plan of a WG or three just in case?

I was there for a short while last night but left before 10. Drinks may be pricy but they are on par or cheaper than most places in the area. It seems the “Top” Swedish pop duo have left, for me this is a positive move, while they were averagely attractive it was nothing more than glorified karaoke and set my teeth on edge. There was only one unoccupied PRC WG up to the time I left.

I notice there is some sort of deal with the WGs and security, on a couple of occasions I have seen negotiations going on out side. I went there once with Miss DJ and while we were not challenged he seemed to take a lot of interest in us.

We left and during a hot and steamy walk along “The Walk” in front of the JBR complex I spotted two PRC SW’s one even giving us the “hello, where you go”. Both were good lookers too, not the typical Deira type SWs. Maybe they were heading to Parrot’s

To conclude it’s certainly not worth making the journey to this part of town looking for WG’s but if you are in the area there may be some pickings. However there have been some high profile incidents in the area including a Brit falling/jumping from the thirty somthing floor of one tower and more recently the murder of a well know (and judging from the photos in the press quite tasty Lebanese pop star), this is on top of the bonking on the beach incident, so I would not discount significant CID presence.

I would reverse the question – What’s a good place to hit at the weekend. Assuming you are referring to WG pickup joints and not regular night clubs (this is the ISG after all) IMHO it’s ALWAYS better in the week, the weekends are too manic, M/F ratio is much worse and prices are higher.

Which bars are lacking compared to you last visit, I am sure others would find that information useful. From the Crowne Plazza a 15 AED taxi ride will take you to the Golden Triangle in Bur Duabi. Jockey’s (Panorama Hotel), Imperial Suits, York, and Rocafellas (Regal Plaza Hotel) RTFF for more info.

Last time I was only in town for two days on the weekend and never really ventured out much, other then the beach. But I didn't need to. There where tons of WGs outside, inside, inside the bars, inside Zinc, inside the mall here at crowne plaza. Now though not so much. I've been here three days now and have seen maybe 5 WGs around the place.

So I figured with the scene lacking around here this trip and my having more time I would go out to some other places. I want to go to the York since I hear so much about it here on this site I just wasnt sure if there where certain places that are more popular during the week then others.

Update: I hear LE were active last night also (Wed night).

Can confirm that. One patrol car sat outside Ratskys about 1 am. Ratskys was hideously busy, jam-packed with lookie-lous annoying punters and girls, very smokey and humid - almost like a smog inside - and too dark to really make anyone out clearly. Tried to track down a couple of girls from my recon visit last week, but they weren't answering their phones and I couldn't see them in the throng. Had one drink and decided to head to Seaview at about 1.25am.

Passed several police patrols on way to Seaview where I ended up taking home a cute Fili sandwich, me being the meat in the middle. Luckily no LE about as we left.

Certainly the scene is going to change with no more visa runs. In a nutshell - there were police cars outside York at closing time. Another member PMd me today and said there were police outside Panorama flashing their siren lights at closing time.

A CIS "Mama Rosa" (madam) I spoke to in York said she is worried because so many girls are getting caught now, and after several years here, she's quitting Dubai in Ramadan going home forever.

The annual pre-Ramadan clean-up is kicking in early this year it seems. With that plus the new visa rules, I fear we are going to see big changes in the Dubai scene soon.
