Hello everyone,It has been some time! I'm of Indian descent, though not from India, and travel at least once a year to Japan on business.I'm back in Tokyo this week Thursday to Saturday, and gonna go through the usual of Club Boo and AM. I saw the messages below about the "happening" bars etc, and wondering what really are the chances for someone who does not speak Japanese to get in? I hear that Silk in Shinjuku is reasonably accessible for foreigners, but I really am not sure about the accuracy of that information. Does one just show up at the door and say here is my moolah, I AM a nice dude, and I am ready for action?On the pub/club scene, is Roppongi still the place to head to? I've had varied luck at Motown in the past, but wondering if there are other places I should head to. Is Gaspanic really what it is made out to be in some other forums, or should I just not bother. Simply put, it has been some time and this dude really needs some action - and while the paid for fun is good, it is always great to go out on the prowl once in a while as well.I'm grateful for any advice, as usual.

There are 4 basic varieties of this sort of activity in Japan.1) Happening Bars- Essentially an "anything goes" atmosphere fueled by alcohol. Some places will have dividers between the sofas, usually with holes in the dividers to allow visuals and groping potential. Subject to occasional raids by the police. Reasonable level of spoken Japanese essential.3) Swinger Parties- Usually couples only, though some may want additional men or women for "theme" nights, such as gangbang specials. Typically held in an upscale hotel suite, rental venue, or love hotel party room (yes, some of them have those!). Reasonable level of written Japanese needed to set up communications and get an invite.4) Swinging Circles- These will usually operate a website or mailing list, and revolve around setting up weekend getaways, and are usually for married couples only. Getaways are usually held in somewhat out of the way rental cabins, often with hot springs or beaches nearby. Written Japanese essential, as bulk of communications is done via email/forums.The best website for info on happening bars and couple kissas is http://www.mabe-navi.com - be warned that probably 90% do not allow foreigners because some ******* has gone before and ruined it for everybody. Do everybody a favour - if you can't speak Japanese, don't just go and try to fake it. All we need is for that 90% to become 99%.There are plenty of boards and websites in Japanese dedicated to parties/circles, but if your Japanese isn't up to finding them yourself, then you probably don't have the langauge skills to get through the initial emails.

They have "happening bars" in Japan, and if you search this forum you?ll find a couple of reports.However, unless you have female companion bring with you, your chances of getting in are pretty low, and if you don?t speak Japanese that goes down to zero.

The bottom line is I made the trip and used the info I got here and reported back. Everyone who attacked me as a faker was proven wrong but some people can't move past that. If you check my first post on this, you'll see I was just posting some info on a famous adult star working a soapland and that it might tempt me to spend the money at the soapland. There are likely others here who think the same thing. Nothing wrong with that.
