Lima - Hotel Recommendations

I had to, due to family problems, postpone my trip from Sept. to Nov. I'll be in Lima Nov. 17-22, that is, if I can find a place to stay! Apparently, unbeknownst to me, the APEC conference is in town that week and most hotels are already booked.

The only ones I could find w/ availability are the Las Palmas and Mariu Luisa. Both have suites. But some tell me they're both dumps, some tell me the suite at Las Palmas is good, and so I don't know what to believe. I'm open to opinions/suggestions.

Perhaps there are other apartment options as well?

Well, they are both dumps, but they are both good mongering hotels.

Maria Luisa Problems:

1) Street noise
2) No safe
3) No heat in room and cold as fuck

Maria Luisa Good points:

1) Security
2) Proximity to action
3) Clean nice small rooms
4) Totally monger friendly
5) Cheap


Las Palmas Problems:

1) Rooms variable in quality
2) Street noise
3) Thiefs work there, men clean your room and rummage thru your shit
4) Must request safe, and USE IT

Las Palmas good points:

1) good location
2) Clean and friendly
3) Nice girls work desk
4) Easy internet access in lobby
5) Bigger nicer rooms
6) Monger friendly

I fully agree with you.
However, I am only staying a few days and coming for business .... other than for some mongering if I get some free time.

So, I believe hotel is better option in front of business partners and in front of my company ;-)

I will contact this place and then report.

Last time I was here, I stayed at Conquistadores Hotel & Suites, Calle Lizardo Alzamora, San Isidro, which was OK and girl friendly (they only asked for ID).
However, now they are quoting over US$ 140 and I would like to spend less.

Both the Penthouse,Bachelor pad and some other places will be booked solid until about the 22nd of September.

Any recommendations for an apartment. Looking to stay mid nov. Mid December. Somewhere near a spanish school, beach and pubs/clubs if possible. Just me so a 1 bed is ok. Budget is around 1000US or less

Due to a swicharoo with the Penthouse, The Bachelor Pad is open from tonight till August 15th. If your "in town" and want a nice apartment (normally $400.00/week) I will rent it out for $250 for one week and $450.00 for two weeks.
