I admit to not having done a thorough forum search, but particularly the first link seems relevant enough for all mongers, to call attention to (again ?)

It was a pleasure to make eye contact with Angelina Jolie last night as we were walking on Sukhimvit around 7 p. M. Nearing Soi 4 and going in the opposite direction she was yaking something to a companion, possibly Brad Pitt, about a nut similar to almonds.

BTW in Vancouver a few years ago I saw Pierce Brosnan sitting on a directors type chair by the Ovaltine Cafe on skid row, that is crack town. Approaching him someone asked if he was James Bond and he replied, No, Joe Smith.

Kudos to you EP. I think all of us should make some time for the less fortunate (and I don't mean the pros). One of the best reports I have seen.

I agree. This has made me think a bit about what I could do. I give to charity in the UK a lot so why not in Thailand when they can be so much more unfortunate that westerners. Think I'll follow your lead and donate something to this place when I'm over in a couple of weeks. It's not like I cant afford it and after all it would be nothing compared to the cash I spend on one of these trips.

Pick up a copy of John Burdett's Bangkok 8. I found it to be a good read. I gave my copy to a couple of buddies on holiday in Thailand and they liked it, too.

Just curious. Anyone know of any good books - fiction, non-fiction, biography, etc that deal with the 'seedy/underbelly' side of things in Thailand/Bangkok - MP's, Go Go's, Nana, prostitution, sex trade, etc?
