The logical conclusion would be: more factories closing down => more girls out of work => more girls in CP. That's what I initially thought too. It may not work out that way. Apparently, a lot of girls in CP have gone home because business is bad in CP (and due to CNY), and they don't earn enough. If the girl is going to be a ho, she expects to get paid like one.
I do wonder what will happen over CNY, usually the mommies will increase the prices for a week or so. Or at least try to. Wonder if they will try it again this year.

After seeing China's lineup, it puts the nevada cathouses to total shame.
With the factories closing and the world economies in a tailspin, I feel that the prices is going to come down or atleast stabilize. The mommies are trying to maintain their past prices but I feel that they are on the losing end with less demand and an overabundant supply. If we all maintain the prices or maybe push it down a bit, we maybe able to force the mommies to lower their prices.
Just my two rmb.

Some KTVs are taking HK$ on par now, which is essentially a 12% discount. But the hotels have not lowered their room prices yet. In fact, JinLang hotel is trying to charge more! A few months ago, a regular room was 168 rmb, apparently it's 228 now (198 with a coupon). JinLang hotel is a bit out of the way. I can't imagine that business has been that good that they are fully booked or overbooked to justify a price increase.
Swanlake hotel has an older section where the rooms go for 128 rmb (148 weekends). As I was checking out on Friday, I overheard a small group checking in:
Customer: how much are the rooms on the 6th floor?
Receptionist: they are 168 each
Customer: yeah, but what is the price AFTER applying all your discounts?
Receptionist: original price is 188, 168 is after discount
Customer: O, ok, I will take it then
And these were local guys (and 1 woman) checking in. Shows you what some locals know.

IMO, I don't care if the mommies talk about business being slow, economy being bad, lack of customers, etc.
When I was in CP a couple of weeks ago, the action near the Lucky Hotel was about the worse that I've seen. Coco wasn't around, and I instead kept getting my arm pulled on by some mommy (or runner) named "Chen Chen" (I have her mobile if you want it).
Chen Chen ran me to a couple of small shops in back of the Lucky, but these were much smaller shops hidden in the back of actual barbershops. She was wanting 200 RMB, and I kept insisting on 150 RMB. Finally she'd agree on 150 but say that she has to take me to a different place where the 150 RMB girls are staying. She'd run me around to local hotels and apartments (not your typical BBS shop/lineup), or she'd get on the phone and have a minibus with 4 girls sitting in it drive by for me to look.
It would take about 30 minutes just to get a look at 10-15 of the 150 RMB girls. A bit of a waste of time.
She even brought me to my hotel room at Lucky and we sat in my room while she'd call up the girls about 1 at a time for me to look at. I think it took 30 minutes to look at 5 girls, all of whom I turned down, except to finally tell her to bring the very 1st one back because all I wanted was a quick BJ anyway (I think at this point, I was getting ready to meet with SeaJ, Wadman and others to go to the 1000-girl lineup place).
It just seemed to me that around Lucky there was more pressure to pay 200, which I wasn't used to. 150 Should be fair, and in fact if business is slow, they should discount even a little more.
Typically, around the Lucky, I would have boinked about 4-5 girls around the shops each day. This time I did only 2 a day because of lack of quality, and the big waste of time of how Chen Chen would drag me to places with 3-5 girls only.
Basically, what I'm saying is I'm the kind of guy who would've pulled about 12-15 girls from the BBSs during the daytime hours in my 3 days in CP, but this time I pulled only 4 girls (due to lack of girls, or maybe just working with a lame mommy who was the only mommy to grab me when I left Lucky Hotel). This means I spent only about 1/3 of the RMB of what I would have usually spent. So if the mommy's want to say 'business is slow', they had a chance to sell to me but they didn't.
OK, in retrospect, maybe I should've wandered around Miraton and HuiMei instead, but I can definitely say for sure that the action around the backside of Lucky Hotel was slow.
Next time, I'm likely to stay at Swan Lake. Rooms look better, and seems closer to more shops.

I saw a TV newsreport last night about the train stations already being very crowded.

My first experience was golden lake sauna. Got number 81 I believe, tall cute girl from hubei. Was such an experience. They use to have some good talent back then, but I guess it got worse of the years.
Sunshine Hotel, right across from the big Shopping mall, was one of the best saunas I've ever been to. I got number 1, the teacher and trainer who teaches all the sauna girls, was a hot girl form dong bei. She had the best skills ever! I wish she was still around because she loved making love and she was good at it too. She even knew which pressure points and areas of the male body gives maximum climax. Wish she was still around.
But tangxia seems to be dying these days. It is truly sad, since I had a lot of fond memories in that town.
How is the goodview compared with Crown prince in HuangJiang? Have you ever been there? Crown Prince Sauna is the creme de la creme of all Saunas these days. But very expensive though. Room about 300plus and tips 500 starting.

Speaking of CNY last year. I was in CP for almost 3 weeks. It must have been the coldest time ever! It was not fun at all. Freezing cold outside, flooding, and a lack of girls. It was ok at the end of December, but after Jan first 2008, it just went down hill. Last year the economy was at its peak in 2007 and beginning of 2008, so I remember all these BBS girls asking for standard tips after the deed. It kind of pissed me off when I gave 20 dollars for them to get a taxi ride back and she gave me this SH*T face and asked for 50 RMB or she would not leave.
But seeing how bad business is now, I guess this type of spoiled attitude will not appear as frequently, except for OAH's SWAN BBS girl.
I hope that this downturn in business will not scare girls away and girls feeling business is so bad they will go elsewhere for business. But then again this downturn also helps us all, if girls' and Mommie expectations are lowered as many of them are so desperate to collect 70 rmb ad 80 rmb fees instead of 100 rmb.
In terms of CP getting more dangerous, that is a fact. I heard from a friend two weeks ago, or three weeks ago, some guy committed suicide from the Liang Bang tall high rise building (across Miraton) apparently, he had gotten into some debt and jumped off the building, not only killing himself but hurting a delivery boy who was walking the sidewalks when he landed.
Thanks for all the advice guys, I suppose I'll wait until March for the next run. As I see it, Jan 26th is CNY, so a month later will be about beginning of March. Hopefully the supply of girls will start coming back and crime rates will be a little lower.
Wish it was 2004 back in CP again, when rates for girls were 150RMB, they weren't as spoiled, less crime and BBS shops everywhere. Oh and RMB was still 8. 25 those were the days.
Happy New years everyone! Have fun but be safe.

Apparently most will go home for about 2-4 weeks. A few may stay as long as 2 months. Wonder what they tell their parents? "Yes, the factory gave me 2 months off...?"

Posts: 446I've heard the same news. Girls leaving town early for CNY because business is bad.
I know of at least 3 SWL girls that left due to bad business and 3 from other KTVs. The early flight might mean very slim pickings. There will always be a few that can't or don't want to go home so they should be available.
The BBS girls looks like they too are leaving early (why spend more money than you can make?)

IMHO, based on what I saw and heard yesterday, it is going to be very slim pickings during CNY in CP.

Was in CP yesterday w/OAH and Wadman - and things looks to be thinning out quite rapidly.
SWL was only half full at 4 and at 6 pm and at only a few stragglers at 8 pm - but the gals and mommas are all complaining that the business has been terrible! Thus its gals not showing up rather than punters taking 'em.
Not much better at Baby's shop - and I was still fielding phone calls from all sorts of gals/mommas/dj's trying to get me to patronize.
And I was getting all sorts of advise to be more careful these days - things seems to be roughing up and there's all sorts of robberies, burglaries, violence etc leading up to the Chinese New Year.
