further to forest´s excellent post (http://www.internationalsexguide.inf...postcount=8007) on the 9am knock shop, i just had to try, especially as there were several places i nneded to go to in that area.

the actual address is ns copa 500, 4th floor, room 407. 60r for half an hour. (inclusive - no fees for room or ´entrance.´) in other words, it´s not far from siqueira campos, almost opposite miami peep.

i went just after ten a.m. about five girls on - the best was maybe a 7 would you say forest? quite nice anyway, and one or two do-ables. there were all introduced in teh old fashioned style - through to the room then each girl sent in one at a time to introduce herself before making a selection. i went for jacquelini, with long curly black hair, the girl who was acting as receptionist, mostly cos of her lovely warm smile.

rooms were not bad at the price. freshly laundered and sealed towel pack (showered afterwards - cold, unless i failed to find the right combination of adjustments among the typically brasilian mix of insulating tape and blutac that passes for bathroom electrics). reasonable double bed, a/c that was pleasant rather than like a fridge.

one of the nice things is the location. there´s now quite a good selection of hoor houses around siq.campos and at all prices (short of 1r a minute haha). given copa´s standard overpricing, i thought this was quite reasonable value and would return, especially as it fills a gap by being open at 9am.

New termas are hardly news. But I do like it when someone has the forethought and generosity to open one on my doorstep. Or at least just a few discrete yards away.

This one´s on NS Copa, just a few yards west of Prado Junior. During the day it´s a terma and at night it´s a boite. The O Globo ad says 70R, but it seems there´s a room charge of 60R on top of that. Ok if the girls are reasonable. Just had a look in (just past midnight) and it´s a good size, nice and new and glitzy, like many of the boites in the immediate area. I think they said they have half a dozen suites so presumably you don´t have to take the girls in a bag off the premises and hide them from your hotel reception. Not many girls about just now. Same owners as Quitanda downtown he says. But the girls ´can´t be bothered turning up when it´s sunny and it´s carnaval.´ Only a couple of so-so´s on the shelf when popped my head in.

The address is NS Copa 99A. Tel 8807-2800. The boite or ´American Bar´is open 8pm to 5am, ´striptease,´ blahblah. Whereas the terma is daytime. Nice that the girls do get a few hours nap

Late afternoon, a taxi has to get bogged down in Centro traffic pretty well as much as the Express Bus. Except the bus doesn´t have a meter I´ve tried changing to the Metro which shaves time off at rush hour, but there can be queues for tickets at that time. If I´m not locked in, I´ve often stayed in Alfonsa Pena for one night to save traffic (walking distance to VM haha) then gone down and rented an apartment in peace the next morning.

I agree. I always have a driver meet me at the airport for safety and convenience. I took the bus because I had forgotten to pick up a small box at baggage claim. I took a nap, walked up to Av Atlantica and took the 1 hour trip to the airport. Went to baggage claim and picked up my item, then took the 1 hour bus ride back to Copa. It was not that bad.

GIG to Copa
1.5hrs
It leaves GIG and heads into Centro via the Linha Vermelha, then stops briefly at Santos Dumant. Then returns to Centro, goes into Gloria before entering Copa. I believe it continues to Ipanema.
Once in Copa, alert the driver where you want to stop: Hotel Name will do, otherwise he won't stop.
$R7 fare. A lot of the delay is the traffic on the Linha Vermelha and in Centro.

Also, that is also where the bus area is right? I have yet to take the bus from GIG to Copa and may consider it as an alternative. For those who have taken the bus from GIG to Copa, how long is the ride say in early afternoon on a saturday?

You should post this question in the hotels/apartments section because you will get more replies. This used to be the Rio Copa and was somewaht girlfriendly back then. As long as you registered the girl (1 girl) you were okay. But now that the hotel is owned by Best Western I am not sure. One thing is for sure, they really raised their rates. This place used to be R$100-$120 at one point.

In general Rio hotels are not GF, with some exceptions, of course. But it all depends on how the girl looks, speaks, and acts. It also depends on whether you bring up one girl or try to bring up more than that. I actually stayed here once, registered the girl when I checked in and had no problem.

Just keep in mind that most of these Copa hotels have families and bona fide tourist staying there and do not want to be seen as monering spots.

If you cannot take a girl up do not worry. There are cheap motels nearby to the Copa. There is one a few blocks away. Plus, you can always hit the thermas.

Also, at times taking girls back to your room is worse than not being able to. For most of we do not take random girls back anyway. Some guys have pyscho tests they give before a girl can come back. So in the end stay at the Copa if that suits you and do not stay elsewhere for the purpose of taking girls back.

Once you know some girls and have been to Rio a number of times it is easier.

Just has returned from my short Rio trip. I would like to thank all board contributors that made my visit to Rio a nice experience.

There were only two early morning planes that landed at GIG but it took me an hour and a half to pass immigration.

I exchanged minimum amount at Safra Bank. There is an exchange fee and rate is unfavourable. I did all my withdrawals at the HSBC ATMs.

Then I got a “Nomad Guide to Rio” at Riotur kiosk. It has maps, taxi fares, bus schedules etc. I took a taxi to Copa for R45. The rate is R40 plus luggage. Again it took an hour and a half.

I stayed at the hotel near Siqueira Campos metro station (Posto 3) My venues were geared towards Copa, everything in walking distance. The only exception was a night taxi fare to Help (R6-10).

Help entrance is R28 before midnight and R38 after both for ladies and gentlemen. At midnight you may hear Beatles’ “Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the doors” The place buzzes around 2am. One night I picked up a girl from Niteroi. She was very mechanical but professional (R200). On the other occasion it was a cute all night carioca (R250). She was drunk by the end of the night (my mistake). There was even a short moment when I thought I fucked her to death as she laid without movement. It took quite a while to wake her up in the morning. Then she left in a hurry forgetting her bra at my room and promising to come back when she realized I was actually staying at this hotel.

All the restaurants like Mab’s, Balcony, Meia Pataca, Terraco Atlantico were waste of time.

On Sunday I visited termas Monte Carlo. There were like 15 girls.
