My last night in Rio. Since I didn't session last night, decided to go to another terma before going to Cancun and have two sessions for my last night.

We decided on the wiskeria at 65 even though I didn't have a good session there earlier in the week. To get in cost r$70.00 but included two drinks. Even with the drinks, this was the most expensive wiskeria. Also, if you session with a girl, you must pay for the hour. No 40 minutes cabinas from the wiskeria.

The only girl I saw who caught my eye was this tall black hair girl who was in the wiskeria for just a short time. I should have grabbed her then because once she left, she never came back.

As we were talking in the club, an older woman 28 years old came over and started to give me a massage. She wasn't the best looking but her massage was getting to me. I finally asked if her massage was good from top to bottom because I needed a good rub-down. Of course she said yes and away we went.

True to her word, her massage was pretty decent. I almost fell asleep, thats how relaxed I got. The sex was okay. The massage was better. Her name was Pamela. The sex didn't matter because I knew what awaited me at Cancun. We hung a little longer, then went to Cancun.

Then Milena looks at me and has the nerve to say, you really didn't like me. I was like, you have got to be kidding. Anyways, I don't like drama so for the rest of the night all my attention was to this new girl

One thing to mention, she forgot her id so when she got to the hotel, the receptionist said he wouldn't let her in. After a few moments the receptionist asked if I would like for him to reserve a room at a love hotel, or that I could pay him and the bellboy a total of r$50.00 to let her in, but she couldn't stay all night.

Because it was so late, I paid the r$50.00. I couldn't remember the other love hotels in the city, I almost took her to Vip in Leblon. Anyways, in the room her body was awesome and so was the performance. I almost forgot to add that on the ride from centro to the hotel, her lips were hardly away from my lips. That correct, we kissed almost the entire way and she is a great kisser.

She was so good I asked her to come to the hotel later that day, so we could meet before I had to get to the airport.

Another sunny day so again start off the day by going to the beach. After the beach went downtown had lunch and decided to go Cancun. Last year, this terma was the worst for number of girls and the quality of girls.

I guess it's all about timing because this time, Cancun had the best selection and lots of girls. We didn't go into the terma, but instead went to the wiskeria. I believe it was r$40.00 to enter.

When we first arrived. There were maybe 4 girls in the room. I guess it wasn't so busy upstairs because before you knew it, there were about 15 girls about 10 minutes after we arrived. There were no other guys in the wiskeria.

Before long I spotted a cute blond hair girl named Milena. She said she was 18 and spoke no English. Before heading back to the hotel, I stopped in front of Help again. Nothing caught my eye, so walked the short walk back to my hotel. All week, the weather was so nice, it was warm enough to walk around in a tee-shirt even at night.

Before going to centro, my friends wanted to buy some Jewerly. We went to H. Stern which provided free transportation. They bought stuff, went back to our hotel and since it was so late, we took a taxi to centro. Last year, we almost had an incident while riding on the metro which I wrote about. Didn't want that to happen again.

By the time we got to 65, there were more guys than girls. The girls there weren't all that. It's funny, last year 65 was my favorite terma. Best time and best looking girls. After about an hour I see a girl who looks half decent. She spoke some English but because of the good time I had at m/c with the girl who spoke English, I gave this one a try.

After a shower we headed for the metro station which is about 3 blocks from the hotel. The one way fare is r$2.80. We all got a card for 10 rides. Once on the metro, a short ride to station Uruguaiana. First stop lunch. We went to a place called Rosario, which is located at Rua do Rosario 102. It is one block from 4x4. It is a by the kilo and what I like best about the place is when you order the steak, they grill it right in front of you.

I know it's not the smartest thing to do, but we went into 4x4 with a full stomach. Being my friends first time there, they were very excited. Myself, I was getting a little sleepy with all the food that I had eaten.

Going into the bar, one of my friends says look at that tall blond, I really want her. I recognized the girl, she was Sol who I had taken last year. I was going to take her again this year but since my friend was so enthralled with her, I introduced her to him. He had a great time with her.

Sometimes you have to take one for the team. Sol did introduce me with one of her friends. Her name was Cindy, and not really my type but she sat with me while I was helping translate for my friends. She did have a cute face and blond hair. When my friends went up at the same time, I should have left her and get someone I preferred. But no. I took her up and took a chance.

She wasn't bad, but she wasn't great. I do give her credit, she did get me off twice which isn't a bad thing. I just wouldn't take her up again. Too many choices.

After our session, met the guys in the back bar to chill. Before leaving we changed clothes and went down to the whiskeria. I had some other friend down there. I let them know the termas in Copa were more expensive than the centro termas but since it was a Sunday, none of the centro termas would be open.

I gave them a tour of the facilities and let them have fun in the bar. For some reason, I was not attracted to any of the girls. Maybe because of the long flight and no sleep, but I didn't session at all. My newbies friends did and had a great time.

From there we went into m/c.. When we arrived, the reception lady said there were only 20 girls availiable and only 3 guys in the bar. I said I like the ratio so we went on in.

Once in the bar it was more like 20 guys and 3 girls. What a dissapointment! After about 45 minutes, I was ready to leave. Fortunately one of my newbies was trying to get a legit massage but was waiting in line. Just got back from a weeks vacation in Rio. This was my shortest trip to date. I usually try for at least 10 days or more and to visit both Rio and Sao Paulo.

Because my trip was so short, and I took some newbies with me, I decided to stay only in Rio. Fortunately, I used my ff miles so the trip only cost me $61.00 usd.

We stayed at the Rio Roiss Hotel and although it is an older hotel, it did the job. We paid r$ 180.00 a night which included breakfast and is very girl friendly. As long as you pay for a double, you don't get charged for bringing a girl in.

The Rio Roiss is also located right behind the Orthon Palace which is half block from help. And yes help is still open. The metro is about 3 blocks from the hotel and the citibank and hsbc atms are about the same only on Coppacabana street.

I landed at gig at 13:00, was the second person in line and was out of immigration in about 2 minutes. After retrieving my luggage and passing customs, I went to get a taxi.

I forgo all the guys wanting me to take their cab and went outside to the yellow taxis. The ride from the airport to the hotel was r$42.00. Not bad from what I have been reading.

When I went to exchange money the first day, it was r$ 1.95 to $ 1.00usd. By the time I left, it was r$2.00 for every $1.00 usd.

Unlike last year, the weather was very good. Last year it rained on me everyday. This year, the sun was out everyday until the last two days of my visit. The last two day were cloudy and windy but it didn't rain.
Fortunately, the only time it rained was at night.

The walk back from 4x4 to the Metro shouldn't give anyone a problem but, if you blow 4x4 -type money, doing anything except getting a cab seems a bit cheapskating.

You are absolutely right. I can easily blow a few hundred Reals a night in a Termas, why not spring for 20R to come back and not take chances.

Another idea - I don't know if I would classify it as being a cheapskate, but ...
As you probably know by now the metro only takes about 20 minutes to get back to Copa. A cab takes 'about' the same time (depending on traffic).
So why spend R20 for a cab, when you can spend R2.80 for a unitario (one way ticket)?
You will save R17 (thats more beer money for TA - about 4 beers w/tip).
A round trip with the metro to centro vs a cab and saves you R34. Consider it more free beer with the funds saved. The option is yours.
For me it boils down to whether or not I want to walk from the Cantagalo station. Sometimes I prefer to take a cab and get dropped of at my apt first. Other times I may get out right in front of help.

The best part is you have a choice. Why waste your money on taxis when the metro is fast, safe and efficient?

If you fancy happening happy hours in lively open air environments, then Cobals Humaita and Leblon are for you.

Cobals are bars and restaurants complexes installed in food markets, great for informally drinking, snacking or dinning while catching musica ao vivo. A Cariocas favorite.

Cobal Humaita is located rua Voluntarios da Patria, and Cobal Leblon rua Gilberto Cardoso.

You can actually take the metro to the new last station on the South line (Cantagaio), and exit on Rua Xavier da Silveria and you are just a few blocks from the beach and your apartment.

Tijuana, you mention the Cantagalo Station. This is a new Station? Last time I was in Rio, the last station was Siqueira Campos Station. So now, you are saying I am better off finding the Cantagalo Station and using this as my primary station to go back and forth to Centro rather than humping to Siqueira Campos?

My apartment is right on the corner of Rua Djalma Ulrich. Right around the corner from Help. Am I better off using Cantagalo?

Yes Geo, coming back to Copa from Centro you can stay on the train and pass S Campos and the next/final stop is Cantagalo. You can then head towards the Miguel Lemos exit (or X Silveria). M Lemos will leave you one block closer to D Ulrich.
If you have already been on the merto this week I'm surprised you have not noticed the last stop on the line. Look up at the map next time you board.

Then you miss some of the best parties in town.

And notably the happy-hours at Arcos de Teles (the alleys just off Praça XV). Every weekday, but especially Wed-Frid, office workers (including tons of women aged 20-30, often pretty hot) flock there to grab cold cervejas, eat appetizers and catch some music before heading home. And on Thurs or Friday often don't go home before 3-4am. It's one of the best option in town to chase middle-class non-pros (Cobal Humaita isn't bad either) and with all the tables and chairs over the alleys creating a large and impromptu patio, one of the best option for people-watching also (beware though, if you get there after 9pm you'll be lucky to find a seat at all). There's maybe over 15-20 bars and botequims, all packed to the walls, but Dito & Feito is IMO the best (it's the most popular). Santa Fe is pretty good too.

For mongers with "game", language skills and cultural awareness, finding a piece of ass is relatively easy at Arcos de Teles.

Anyhow as Xtopherd rightly stated, there's lots of great cultural events and "in" nightlife options in Centro. Much more so than in Copacabana. And it's undoubtely a safer area.

Centro being one of the epicenters of Rio's nightlife with dozens of good clubs and bars inevitably filled with party-goers, I find your "rule to leave Centro by 8pm" pretty weird.

Yet as usual, to each its own.

A question for you guys on the ground now or have been in Rio recently, how is the weather? Is it warm enough to at least sit on the beach and get some rays?

Also, recently because the Hells Angels were there it was reported that Copa was dead, is it still dead?

I think you're taking offence where none was intended, man. I find a lot of Prosal's posts informative. I don't think he claims to be an expert and neither do I. We all just try to share what info seems appropriate. I don't find a lot of the repetitive posts about a particular girl helpful. But I'm just one board member. I'm sorry you take offence where none is intended. There's so many queries it's often a hard call on whether to respond on them or not. I think it was Prosal's use of the word 'weird, ' which in California is a sorority expression (and not a sorority that would include Eddy Izzard) used to insult a guy who is different.

Admittedly, newbie me found TJ's out-by-8pm Centro rule helpful. Pithy.

But even literally, 'weird' didn't work there. Paranoid, okay. But it is hardly weird for a lone, first-time gringo to be paranoid in downtown Rio after dark.

Has anybody else noticed the same tired posters always chime in with negativity? I mean some guys ONLY try to contradict. But usually they just demonstrate how weak they are:

For example, on this thread, if you mention centro, all of a sudden guys will chime in about non-pay for play spots to attempt to demonstrate their knowledge. They always claim, you can pick up girls there, but of course, they add you need, game, Portuguese, etc.. Their real goal is to try to say that THEY have game, Portuguese skills,etc., not you or TJ!

Or, on the apartment thread, these same types of guys chime in and start ranting about how they pay so much less because they read O Globo (another way to imply that they READ Portuguese).

It's the same tired ass game from the same tired as lames!

Sorry, I know some of you like these guys and I tried, but this crap gets on my nerves.

Ok. Here goes: the top, smartest, most intelligent, all knowing guys on this board are Chris.. and Prosal. They know all about Brazilian society (probably read some of my books. LOL), and we need to bow down to them!
They are the only two guys who should answer questions on this forum. If you attempt to do so, they have the right to respond even if they do not address the initial question. Also, they reserve the right to speak about non-pay for play, even though they will use vague terms, such as game, to describe how to pick up these women.

3. I never said centro closes down at 8pm. I was informing a new guy of my personal rule because he mentioned in his post that he worries about walking in Copacabana at night.



And by the way ,for the record, I am considered an expert on many parts of Brazilian society and Latin America in general. Some of your Brazilians friends you hang out with at these parties, especially the younger people, will be coming to America to take my classes some day. They would all love to come if they could afford it.
