Any details of the new law, and what effect it may have

It will be interesting to see if the new laws make a difference to the number of girls from Russia/Ukraine working in Prague. Will they bennefit as they may already be outside the law, or will the new laws make it more difficult for these girls to work in Czech Republic.

Changes in the law
For many years now politicians are talking about the legalization of prostitution because this is a big business (an estimated 9 billions czech crowns a year) and prostitutes are currently not paying tax on their incomes...
But if politicians can´t agree about legalization, they agreed about some changes in the law about penalties/sentences connected to prostitution.
The new law is taking effect on january 1st, 2010.

Another flipside
The article linked to was dated 12th July 2009. I think it was based on the facts from a few, or more than a few, years back.
I found good and not so good service late last year. I think the reality is between the 2 posts.
You can get excellent service in Prague but this often happens because you have become a regular with a girl. The first time you see a girl, at least in privats, can be very hit and miss. If you find a girl you like and visit her often the service often improves greatly.
I have no experience of clubs so I do not know if the same applies.
I have seen one girl from an escort ad and saw her often, and as said the service became much better.

Indeed.. A somewhat rosey opinion of the sex trade in Prague.

I am sure many of the Prague regulars will agree that the reality of the industry is the complete opposite. Many (not all, but most) of the ladies are far from customer driven and have no intention in keeping you happy. More like getting your money and giving you shit service.
My last encounter involved two ladies that thought it normal to lock themselves in the bathroom and waste away time rather than do their job, which they get paid well for.

Short TR
Some typical prices for services for anyone thinking of coming to Prague.
Arrived in Prague in AM took bus to Dejvicka thence to hotel Claris.
Bus 26kC - approx USD1.2
Hotel USD 60 per night
Beers USD 1-3 per half liter.
Meal in Restaurant Vltava on the River - great view - one half litre beer, one fish, one coffee plus tip USD 15.
Went to Privat Sweet Nicole in Town 2000kC (about USD125) the hour for classic plus bbbj. 3 ladies there - two younger but rough and bored looking (danger Will Robinson), another, Lenka was quite friendly and gave good service, although a little older than my usual. 800kC extra for A.
All in all, worth a try, but no sweet young student types on vacation here. WIR? Not really, but YMMV if you hit it off with one of them. Receptionist speaks basic english.
