For contact they have only mobile phone numbers which might right a bell in the wrong way because the people who are renting they are private no agency.This could be a disatvantage or an advantage depends on the person.If they see you are foreigner they might try to raise the price so have a romanian called them first and ask about the prices.

a trip to Danube Delta is very easy from both of the cities but the lodging conditions suck big time.The last time I was there was 2004 and the accomodation was so bad up that it fucked up my mood.From what i heard now the conditions are decent but I haven't tested yet.

As for a girls or two on board that should be no problem but I think it would be easier to convince a girl from Bucharest or other city to come wiht you since the girls from Galati or BRaila they are actually living in the delta so for them would be something normal.

Braila seems pretty cool. I must admit that the idea to go there never crossed my mind, but the description you make of the city is rather inspiring.

Thanks for the tips about the beach scene. It's not the first time I hear about Vama Veche which seems to be a rather interesting place. I've been to Mamaia and Costinesti, but my personal tastes are more "untapped" mid-sized cities, and Braila seems perfect in that respect.

Galati remains a place that I want to visit though. Do you know the link for Anuntul Galati (to see if there's apartments in "regim hotelier") .. can't find it on google.

the posibility of getting laid in galati it's probable the same like any other city in the romanian part of moldova.however i wouldn't recommend it.the city itself it's ugly like hell.any old nice building has bee wiped out during the 80s and there are only communist flat buildings.an walk in the city is quite depressing.the only advantage that you may have is that it's been hit by the crisis harder than many other romanian cities since a huge number of inhabitants are working for the sidex galati factory who is about to stop the activity.

if you want a little adevnture and i have allready seen that you have the balls for it i would recommend you braila .it's located in the danube delta and it used to be the golden city of the danube at the begining of the 20 century .at that time everybody on the street was speaking english ,french and german and was very cosmopolitan.after a few decades the role of the city as a danube port declined and with romania entering the communism era the cosmopolitanism was gone but the good part is that the city escaped ceausescu maddness in the 80 and it still has all of it's old buildings so i think you will find it like a 19 century french colony))))

the population is about 200.000 i guess and the good part is that the city is kind of isolated.from there you will have also the posibility to visit danube delta in case you want.
