Since I have never been to DR, I made my "list" based on what I read here and knowing what type of venues I prefer. I may be way off and that is why I am asking for input from readers of this forum. Any recommendations for SDQ would be appreciated by those that know SDQ well.

BQ Ribs, I couldn't tell from your post if you were indicating that the quality/services doesn't really vary in the venues in SDQ and that I could get the same quality, but cheaper in other venues (or that there is better quality in Sosua), or if those venues are just ridiculously overpriced to justify the difference in quality. Please clarify. (I've already made my plans for SDQ so I can't change them to Sosua-- maybe next trip).

    Thanks

Bar 360, Baby Dolls, Foxys, GBP, Penthouse, sky house, girl's house are brothels. Coppa Disco is a normal discoteca (with some rich people who drink there), that has some working girls who hang out there. Bar Atarazana 9 in Zona Colonial is a smallish bar that sometimes has discreet working girls, as well as normal customers. Foxys may have the best talent, but the prices for chicas in Foxy's is very high. There is also the place past the malecon center, with blonde hair international chicas with silicone, most members on this board don't recommend that place.

On my last trip I wanted to check out the bar near UNIBE (the medical school) chicas who study medicine in sdq hang out there, I was not able to visit that bar my last trip, but could be a place to try and meet some chicas.

GBP is fun (1500 short time on site, I was quoted 2000 for a happy hour, short time). Helpmann recommends Casa Australia (on my next trip I'll visit casa australia), you may want to check that place out as well and if you don't see what you like speak to the Manager Australia and maybe she can get what you are looking for.

Penthouse has a decent lineup, some tall shapely dominicanas, as well a few shortys. Penthouse had no other clients when I visited, I doubt many tourists venture to it. If you go to Penthouse, close by is coconut bar (avenida privada, 75 feet north of ave 27 de febrero, on the east side of avenida privada) is about two blocks away, you can stop there for a beer, while you are in the neighborhood, coconut bar had around 4 chicas, one skinny light skin chica, one skinny tall morena and two others, they are moving soon to a new location.

Look at the map Boricuaonline made, there is a lot of information, regarding bars and discotecas.

If you want to see photos of the higher end discos and bars, go to bufeo.com or bonche.com. Praia, Amika, LED are among the higher end bars in sdq.

There are small buses that go to Boca Chica and Juan Dolio, fare is between 100 to 200 pesos. I know some of the buses that go east, stop on Avenida mexico near zona colonial, others stop near Park Independencia near Avenida Independencia, you may want to ask someone at Hotel Riazor for the best way to get Juan Dolio, or ask a friendly taxi driver, or play the lost sheep routine and ask a pretty girl on the street for directions. You should be able to get to Juan Dolio on a small bus for 200 pesos or less. If you go to Juan Dolio, check out Ilusiones, they had one sexy chica there and 4 other chicas. Also some working girls may play pool in one bar that sits across the street from the public beach in Juan Dolio.

One more question regarding taxi/transportation: Without renting a car, what is the best way to get to and back from Duan Dolio and the beaches?

I was also wondering what were the top mongering venues in SDQ for QUALITY. I am not much of a "casa" person. I prefer bars/discos and "picking up" a girl. I am more interested in looks/services rather than price, although I speak enough spanish to negotiate a better price than what's usually asked by the chica.

From reading the board, I narrowed the following to be my best options:
    -Jaragua
    -Coppa Disco
    -Bar 360
    -Penthouse
    -???

    Any other recommendations for quality?

After some casa closes, some girls go in or around Copa disco. Girls from casa Azul, Girls House and independent chicas told me on my May trip that it is their favorite spot the get some free drinks or extra money from the guys. Best time is 2 to 5 am. Quality is not guaranteed anywhere.

    SDQ: Top 5 Chica Venues?

Information on taxi fare from airport has been posted. The taxis in sdq have no meters, so the fare becomes a matter of the meeting of the minds (what the taxi driver is willing to accept and what you are willing to pay), locals who live there have a better idea of what a normal fare is, being tourists we are not in that loop.

From Riazor to bar 360 in zona colonial should be 200 pesos or less. Riazor to GBP should be around 200 pesos as well. Once you start going to the places that are not near Hotel Riazor, then you have to think about whether you want the taxi driver to wait. If you go to GBP in the day, probably no need for the taxi to wait, in the daytime there is a lot of traffic on Avenida 27 de Febrero and you should be able to find another taxi. If you visit any of these places and you don't have a taxi waiting for you, you can always ask a bartender, manager or one of the chicas to call a taxi for you. Casa theresa, casa azul and casa australia are at least 15 minutes from riazor. If you go at night it might be better to have the taxi wait for you. Same for Penthouse and coconut bar (on Ave. Privada).

If you speak any Spanish, go upstairs when you leave the customs area at the SDQ airport. Take the elevator to your left. Go outside at arrivals and ask the arriving taxistas for a ride back to town. They're not supposed to take you but business is business and you'll never have to pay more than $15-20.

As other members have stated, from the airport to hotel riazor, taxi cost from 25 to 40 dollars. Within easy walking distance of Riazor are lapsus, La Parada, casino girls in Jaragua and Melia, coppa disco in hotel melia, street chicas outside the melia, street chicas on Avenida Independencia, girl's house and sky house on Avenida Pasteur.

Baby Dolls and Foxys would be at least a ten minute walk from Riazor, by car it is less than 8 minutes. Being a foreigner you will pay more, I knew a girl who would take a taxi from Zona Oriental to meet me in front of Hotel V Centannario (over a 20 minute drive) and she would pay the taxi 200 pesos. If you have some basic spanish you can ask the price, before you get into the taxi. 200 pesos is about 5.55 in dollars. I wouldn't pay, no more than 200 pesos to go from Riazor to Baby Dolls. 200 pesos or less to go to Casa de Modelos from Riazor seems sufficient. I rent a car so I am no expert on taxi fares. The chica I knew would ask different drivers the price to drive her home to Zona Oriental, most would say no for 200 pesos, but she always found one that would do it for 200.

Another member previously posted a problem with a taxi driver named Luis. I know one taxi driver named Luis who waits outside the Hotel Melia and Coppa Disco every night, I am still not sure if it is the same Luis. You may want to skip any taxi drivers named Luis.

There is an old white haired skinny taxi driver that is outside the Hotel Melia and Coppa Disco every night. I had him take me to three casas late one night. He waited while I visited the three places. I had one beer in Casa Theresa and two beers in Casa Azul that night and just looked at the lineup at Casa Modelos, the taxi driver was with me for over an hour, he drove me back to my hotel near the malecon and I gave him 20 dollars, overpayed but he was a nice old guy.

Another option if you know your way around is to rent a car at the airport for one day. Return the car the next day on Avenida Independecia as most of the major rentals have offices in the city. Using the credit card insurance the cost will be $40 US plus you have the car to stock up the fridge.

Airport taxi guys are going to quote $40 dollars, but you can get a taxi as low as 900 pesos or $25, I have some #'s , you can also check on paginasamarillas.com.do and enter taxi in the Nombre (empresa o categoria) field.

I don't know who paid for me to enter that club, either you or one of the three Dominican guys from New York. Sorry my girl came with her old aunt, would have been better if she came with an attractive friend for you. Sounds like you had fun time in Boca Chica. I'll definitely stop by your place in Cabarete on my next trip to the North Coast.

Some photos of cabana "Si o No"

This cabana is located on the malecon, going west from the Malecon Center, about ten minutes. I spent the full four hours there, as I was tired from my flight and the chica whom I was with worked all night in a casino, we both fell asleep after sex. I was there from 6:30am till 10:30am.

I saw a sign for "La Pirata" Italian restaurant, I believe that is the name of the restaurant that sits on the water, this restaurant is close by the group of cabanas on the malecon.

There was a small sign on the flat screen television basically saying the television was hooked up to some security system, so don't try to steal it.

The walls to the bathroom are made from glass with a curtain for the door way. Not much privacy when I went to take a dump, but the chica was sleeping at that time.

Control panel for the lighting, air conditioning and music. This place had a curvy padded lounge chair type thing in lieu of the typical workout type sex apparatus.
