Also, if you just get in a taxi or on a xe om (or even drive a bike there) and go to Damsen Park, these places are hard to miss.

Nail found these places just from my mention of damsen, he didnt need street names or anything, which is commendable. Guys, yes damsen is a big place, but start around the main street of the gate major gate entrance and just walk around, and explore, thats what i did. Dont expect everything to be spoonfed, a generalised location is sufficient.

Well, whaddya know, upon mention of a new kind of opportunity by Mutantchicken I gave it a shot. All I have to say is one word - interesting.

There are a couple of "Cafe & Music" shops right across from Damsen park. Turns out they are really cafe and music shops. I'm not aware of groups who try to scare people about AIDS for deceptive reasons. I have never come across any that is in dist 1 proper. It would be nice if Johndao or Milkweed at least list the street name.

Sorry. My meaning was that you obviously had thought about the issue. I don't expect everyone to share my opinions.

I'm happy to leave it at that and agree to disagree except hard not to have the last word in this sort of conversation. 2 points:

- There's a large percentage of foreigners, don't know about local customs, having unprotected sex in Asia. Maybe not a majority, who knows, but large;

- I'd be wary of believing anything coming out of Africa. People die of everything there, and you can die of about 20 different things and they'll call it AIDS. Not to be too obvious but rumours/untruths out of Africa are a major reason that the Bush administration got involved in Iraq, apparently believing that Saddam was sourcing nuclear material from Nigeria.

Yes there are lots of people, foreigners and locals alike, engaging in unprotected sex. With hookers? I'd be surprised if it was most. I'd be surprised if it was more than 10%. Statistics say that millions die per year of it worldwide. I dont' see any reason to doubt these numbers. I can't understand why anyone would presume that foreigners are immune because they come from other countries. Are you suggesting HIV requires a racial match in order to be transmitted? I'm just trying to figure out the rationale here.

Your 2nd point seems to imply that you don't believe people are dying of AIDS in Africa. If I got that straight, I think I don't even need to take it further, can let people judge for themselves where you're coming from with this. At some point you have to move beyond living in a world constructed only of doubts and actually check to see what evidence exists. In this case, you'd find overwhelming evidence from all kinds of legitimate sources that AIDS is an enormous problem in Africa.

Can we at least agree that HIV passes from one person to another, and it does so by one person's infected blood getting inside the body of another person?
