I am an avid golfer and have never played it in 8 visits there. Last year it took another beating from the tropical weather and was unplayable in October. I think it would be more fun to hit balls with a sand wedge off Maho beach into the ocean for an hour than play that course. It is pretty bad AND is located in what I consider the least safe part of the island. I don't drive through there at night but will go pretty much anywhere else on the island at any hour.

Course is okay and interesting to play. it is along the lagoon and the shoreline just past the airport. abandoned and derelict bulldings all along the fairways, then across the lagoon are brand new super-condos with mega-jachts. sort of llike playing in beirut! in the raining seaons (june-oct) the course is okay, but in the dry winter season it gets no water and drys out and gets very rough. the greens are bumpy all year. price is about 80$ i think for a a round, but it is the only course in the area. anguilla courses is closed (and it costs $300 per round).

Just occurred to me the dollars discussed $40-50 for 20-30 minutes ... are they Netherlands Antilles Guilder or US?

Will they accept US dollars with the conversion adjustment or is that not recommended?

All prices you will see on this SXM board are in US dollars. USD is the expected method of payment in all the "clubs", and on the Dutch side in general. I doubt it makes sense to exchange any currency at all. It could be even more advantageous on the French side, since everyone will accept dollars, but some places will have favorable exchange rate, or even use 1USD = 1Euro.

Now, if you were to travel to Aruba and visit San Nicolas - that's another story. Often you can get much better "deal" when paying in florins there.
