following my recent report on 10-15-09, i made two more trips to juarez during the week.

i again went down to the area just south of the cathedral on friday and saturday see if i could find the inexpensive $10 street walkers and bar girls that were described in the reports of distinction cited in my report. i was quite disappointed both times. i was there near and after dark. it got a little scary after most of the vendors packed-up so i left at about 8 pm. the streetwalkers were present mostly along the streets that have pedestrian access only. the other streets (with traffic) had few of them while i was there. the quantity of the streetwalkers did improve a lot as it got darker, however the quality did not improve significantly. i went into a few of the cantinas and night clubs. the women were almost all large and chubby. most appeared to have borne 3 to 6 kids or more and had not lost weight in-between. perhaps they varied from 1 to 4. to go to bed with them, they needed to pay me! there were one or two decent ones, but they were rare exceptions and were occupied with customers. (others may have done better, but based on my 3 visits, it is hard to conceive of it.) i actually thought that some of the street girls were better than the cantina and bar and night club girls. maybe i am spoiled and too picky.

frankly, i think that most experienced mongers are used to much better quality and we should not spend limited valuable time scraping the bottom of the barrel in that area unless our funds are extremely limited. i feel that it is better to pay $30. $80 at luxxor, siluetas, san souci, etc. (which is quite a bargain compared to $200 to $300 girls in the usa) than to scrounge for $13 to $20 street or "cathedral area" girls. if you chose wisely you can get someone in luxxor, san souci, etc. with whom you can have a decent conversation or even sometimes a real girl friend experience. with the cheap street girls it's usually a quick strip, fast rough bj, and a quick f---, with possibly some limited fake groans designed to make you come faster. there are of course some exceptions and that is one of the fun challenges we mongers love, namely finding a gfe girl either in massage parlors, on the internet, in bars, on the street. the probabilities however, are better in the clubs, parlors, etc. that cater to americans and higher class mexicans than near the cathedral and on the streets. an outstanding example follows (a one in a hundred encounter).

On the right is Marilyn's and on the left is a bus stop that will take you back to centro. Have a cabbie take you to Marilyn's and on your way back to centro take the bus.

There is a public phone right on the corner right next to a furniture upholstery shop (at least there was 14 months ago). Just stand there and the bus will come. I think the bus comes every 20 minutes.

Just ask Sergio or one of the girls they will point you in the right direction. There is a big difference from 50 cents to 5 dollars.

I just visited Juarez and a lot has changed in a year or two. When you cross the bridge and turn right your encounter nothing but razed and torn down buildings in the Mariscal area. Don't even bother to go right and turn left down Av. Mariscal. All the old clubs and hang-outs are gone. There are still several blocks further down that are still intact and involved in the sex trade, but you should access them from further down Av. Juarez.

If you walk down Av. Juarez (south) about 7 blocks you can turn right (west) and go past Av. Mariscal and Josue Neri Santos gym and in three blocks arrive at Casa Colorado (now called San Souci). The new location of the Hollywood strip club is in the same area. There is some street action in this area but mostly near or after dark. There were several girls during the afternoon (near Club Lauras – 1 block south of San Souci) but very low quality during the day.

There are several good reports summarizing the situation in the area behind the Cathedral and the very low cost street hookers and cantinas. If you look like a Gringo, you really stand-out. I did not feel unsafe in this area or even in the cantinas and bars. I do speak Spanish well however.

These same reports are out of date when it comes to the Av. Mariscal area near the bridge. It is a 10-11 block walk from the bridge to the market area south east of the Cathedral.

I was near the Cathedral on a Monday afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed watching people in the street and in the cantinas, however the quality and quantity of the streetwalkers was very low at that time, but that was before about 5 PM. Perhaps later in the day or on Fridays and Saturdays there are more or better hookers. The women in the cantinas were plentiful but generally overweight and unattractive. Besides the market area, these reports also describe Luxxor/Siluetas massage parlors and Eduardo's night club (now moved from its previous location in the Mariscal district).

It is an extremely long walk from the bridge to Luxxor/Siluetas/Eduardo's down Av. Juarez and left down Ave 16 de Septiembre. It is about 10 blocks from the bridge down Av. Juarez to Av 16 de Septiembre and 23 blocks from Av. Juarez to Luxxor. I recommend a $3 to $5 cab ride unless you just like to walk along and enjoy the sights in Juarez, which sometimes I do. Luxxor is on Ave 16 de Septiembre between Peru and Uruguay street on the South side of 16 de Septiembre. (Other posts on this board do not always make it clear which geographical direction to walk from Luxxor to Siluetas and other local spots.) I walked from Luxxor to Siluetas (1822 Jose Borunda Calle – approximately 2 blocks south of 16 de Septiembre and one block east). If you go one more block south and another block east you come to Eduardo's night club 1858 Ave Vincente Guerro which was closed on Monday when I went there about 5 PM.

I picked Sandy out of the lineup at Siluetas. I only paid $30 total (not $30 massage plus $30 for extras which I expected based on previous posts). She was very nice and accommodating. I gave her a $5 tip. She was the best there and a solid 7 in looks and 7 in performance (CBJ and F). I did not ask her about DATY.

I generally tip $5 at either Genesis or Marilyns. I have very infrequently tipped $10 for way above average service. Not into anal though. I find that if you repeat with the same girl, you get better service each time, beginning with the 2nd or 3 visit. Of course there may be some problems with this. If you want to change to another newer girl you "may" loose the service improvements from the first one. It makes a difference to some and not to others. After all it is "just a job".
As an example, it will take a little while for them to remove their "uniform" on the first visit. By the third it is usually taken off when they close the door.

I have have poor service from only one girl at either of these places. She did not last long.

It is too difficult to nail this down when you are dealing with Mexicans. Also so many different cabbies. A cab may be from the same company but the drivers are virutally independant.

Also if you actually RTFF you will have noticed the up charge for taking a cabbie or a van service. We pay 30USD or 300 pesos at Genesis but if you take a cab, expect to pay more in addition to cab fare. Now that I think about it, you may get free cab fare if the cabbie's cut is good. It all boils down to you paying too much.
