I was there when the three walked in. It was obvious that they had never been to BA 85 before. They stayed less than five minutes and didn't go above the first floor. They were polite, looked around. They were not loud, and yes they spoke English as they were talking to each other. If it had not been for there size. And yes they were large, and could be mistaken for football players. They probably would not have been noticed. It was the size of the men that had the girls giggling. It was not a sight they were use to seeing.

Care to add some actual information that has nothing to do with my trip report? I doubt you were really there for three reasons:
1. It is too much of a coincidence that a guy who flamed me a few months ago is in the same casa, same floor, at the same time as the one he flamed. Plus, it was fairly early!
2. Your reply was way too general and only restated what I said. If you had only added some information it might have been believable!
3. When I said BA85 was gringoized I was joking. It is still unusual to see gringo mongers there let alone be in there with a flamer like you on the same floor early in the morning! I think you took the bait and believed BA85 was like Meia Pataca and that you could just claim to have been there! NOT!

Perhaps we should have a trip reports for beginner's class!

2. How did you get to BA 85?
3. What floors did you visit?

I will be in Rio from December to March and I will organize some semi-private stag parties. I am always looking for appropriate locations which must be able to give room to at least 12 people and have some soft flooring (thick carpet, ...) of at least 3x3m. A really oversized bed would do as well and a gym with sports mats would also be o.k.

1. I actually spoke to 2 of the girls who confirmed what I said.
2. I did not list a time, so I am unsure how you know when I was there.
3. I came in the next day and actually saw another group of big dudes, so it is not uncommon for them to go to BA 85; there is no law against it. Thus, I am again unsure that you were there when I was there.
4. I heard one of the guys make a comment to the effect that he had been there previously.
5. I heard every word they said over the loud music, thus they were speaking loud.
6. I think you have a slight comprehension issue. Obviously, my post implies that the size of the men was an issue. Why would you repeat the same thing?

The first thing he did was plop down on the couch/bench. They did not go up any further than floor 1 and it was obvious that he was very out of breath.

Plus, the girls were all laughing and nervously trying to get out of the sight of all three of them. These were REALLY big dudes!

I bet the guys left ba 85 for a more expensive enviroment, such as 4x4.

I, too, wondered how he got up the stairs but given the big commotion they made upon entering I will bet they stopped traffic for awhile.

I have mongered all over Latin America and can vouch for the fact that there are many places where you can quality girls and excellent service for a fraction of what people seem to be paying in Rio: Costa Rica, Colombia, and, especially cheap, Ecuador, El Salvador, Uruguay, and Paraguay (absolutely the cheapest, but hard to get to). True, none of these places are as attractive as Rio and don't have the same amenities, but if you have already sampled what Rio has to offer and are just looking for pussy, I recommend trying these other venues. Even Buenos Aires, although not exactly cheap, might provide a balance between a cosmopolitan atmosphere and reasonable prices.

I had the same thought..and that next time I would go to Buenos Aires for something different and cheaper. I did some investigating of BA lodging and found it comparable to Copa Premier or Atlantico. I checked Argentina Private and found the prices at places like Madahos to be similiar to Centro casa pricing. Then TJ started posting and reminds me of the $1R/minuto girls at BA85 and similar. At this point I don't see how Buenos Aires has any advantage over Rio Centro.

That being said..I am still considering spending only a couple days in Rio next time and diverting to elsewhere in Brasil, like Maceio, if that might be cheaper. I remember that one of the guys here on the Rio thread recently had a good time in Maceio on a small amount of money.

The real catch is that I get 95% good service in Rio and Sao Paulo, with CIM and anal when I don't even ask for it. It's hard to try something new where the service may not be so good. If I got to Macieo or Porto Alegre or one of the spanish-speaking countries and found that the service was all CBJ like most of the places in Japan, I would literally have a break down due to knowing what I missed in Rio or SP simply to save a few bucks.

That is really some funny shit, because a few years back my dad fucked the one in the middle for R$20. He picked her up from Meia Pataca and offered her R$1/minute for 20 minutes. And if I had time to dig out the photos to prove it I would. The girl on the right is of course Flavia from Rocinha. Although I have never fucked her I am pretty cool with her. The one on the left I have never seen in my life. They must have seen sucker written across you guys' foreheads.

They may have seen whatever they want, but I don't pickup Help or Meia Pataca women. I deal with either a non-pro or a terma girl. I find regular girls anywhere a van, bus, metro or my feet takes me. The benefit of terma girls is that its business there, or personal if she comes to you apartment. Their attitudes are usually better and they are cleaner.

EA. thanks for the legal stuff. As we all know, there's the law and then there is reality, in every country. The reason we are discussing this (or at least my reason) is not that some change in the law will shut things down. It's just so entertaining in Brasil. Of course, Termas are illegal but they stay open because they make payoffs. When they do raid them it is because of some disagreement on the payoffs.

So, what is bad is some sort of turmoil where nobody knows the rules. That could happen with these changes in the law. One thing for sure is that nobody but the mongers want them to be legal. So eventually this will get sorted out and probably go back to business as usual.

The termas owners won't rock the boat because the illegal thing is a barrier to entry for competition I have a lawyer friend who says there will eventually be a court case to decide it. Fine, as long as it does not involve me!

I have been a very big HELP sipporter, but after going there last Friday, I would have to say. its time to shut the doors.
