Like the Loch Ness Monster, but in Ssese (Lake Victoria).
Banda Island is quite nice, if the same bloke runs it. Its been some time since I was there.

No hookers there. Most people go to bed at 9pm. Some are on the run from officials on the mainland. The communities are small. The resorts can be quite nice but you won't often find girls, especially working girls. HIV prevalence is very high in the Islands as well... many deaths. If its girls your after forget it. If its scenery, rare species, and the Ssese Monster then by all means. But I'd stay in Kampala or Entebbe.

Posts: 250A possible strategy for 'she is HIV positive, stay away from her'
I'm living in Eritrea and within 6 weeks had 2 girls telling me to stay away from other girls because they were HIV positive. Unless they have the lab report right in front of them, no one will never know. With the enormous stigma attached, my belief is that no girl would share her HIV status with anyone, especially the competition.
So in one of the cases I simply told the girl that the girl I was with said she was HIV+. Man, this created a firestorm. They called me and denied they ever said it and were scared since the girl threatened to beat her up. In short, doing this teaches them a lesson to keep their mouth shut. Sorry that this is in the Uganda forum but I thought it might be helpful.

Posts: 34I have been living in Kampala for quite some time now, but have never really been mongering because it’s been so easy to meet “normal” girls at the university, in shops, clubs etc. But as you all know, having a regular girlfriend comes with some headaches so I decided to check out Kabalagala a few days ago. For those of you who know Kampala must think I am crazy for not going to Kabalagala earlier considering that I have been here since June! I guess the answer is that I had plenty of chicks available without going there.
Decided to go to Capital Pub and figured I would go alone. Arrived around 09:30 pm and went to the bar for a cold Nile. I had been sitting in the bar for less than 2 minutes when I was approached by the first girl. Nice looking Ugandan gal with nice tits, hips and round booty. Obviously, I know better than going with the first girl in a place like this so I rejected her request for a drink and said I would like to be left alone. Watched some soccer on the screen before I decided to move to a different table. Again, I was sitting at the table for less than a minute before I was approached by a new girl. This one wasn’t even nice so I just told her straight up that I would like to be left alone. Then I saw this beautiful chick sitting at the bar looking at me and moved over to say hi. She looked very hot so I offered her a beer while we talked. After I while, I suggested we should move to somewhere more quiet to socialize. Went to Al’s bar which was very quiet this early. Had a few smokes and beers before we went back to Capital. Back at Capital all of a sudden two girls approached me and told me that I should be very careful with this girl because she was HIV positive. At first I thought they were just gossiping because they wanted me, but even a third came and told me the same story. I decided not to take the chance due to all the warnings and politely told her that I wasn’t interested anymore. Now, I realize this may be just a game the girls are playing, but it pays to be careful. In fact, many of these girls are probably infected so putting on a condom is a rule without exceptions.
After a long night dancing and chatting with probably 5 more girls, I found one I really liked and took her to a nearby guesthouse that charged 20,000 Shillings. The guesthouse was located on Gaba Road, only a short boda-boda ride from Capital. This girl didn’t want any money - told me she wasn’t a prostitute(maybe she was just looking for a mzungu boyfriend, who knows). Nevertheless, I gave her 10,000 for “transport” in the morning.
Conclusion: Capital pub is a fun place that offers a very good opportunity to meet girls, not only the hardcore pros. You have so many girls looking at you, touching and flirting with you that it is breathtaking. Needless to say, many of these women are no good, but it is really fun just to experience all the attention. I guess I will be back a few times a month from now on, but will choose my prey with caution.

Thanks for great write ups from previous contributors on Kampala and pointing me to "POD" thread. LOL. Still ignorant after all these years.

Also, sounds like mongering is fairly subdued there I guess supplanted with wg's going about as easy pickups. Any guidance on "rates" would be much appreciated!

Pete Ref,
Your question on Muyenga, there isn't really much there. It is one of Kampala's more select areas but lags a little behind Kololo on that score. There's a few hotels, Italian and Chinese eateries and a few health clubs. For nightlife you will have Kabalagala on your doorstep or the 'soho of Kamapala' as it's known.

Just curious if many/any of you fellas have or do spend any time in Muyenga Hills and if this is the best area in Kampala.
My tutsi gf grew up in Kampala and says this is where she wants to take me (she's cool and here in the states with me now)
Thanks for any input

Posts: 280Back to Kampala after 5 years
As the title says it's been 5 years since I was last in Kampala. I will probably be back there in late FEB, early March. Last time I was there I stayed at the Sheraton whie they were doing the remodeling. Back then I had no problem getting girls to the room. Is the Sheraton still GF? If not, what upscale hotels are? I'll be visiting local friends and can't stay in an obvious hotel for action.
Either post or PM me. Thanks.
