People are dying like flies in Berlin right now. Highest numbers of whole Germany. Omicron is making the noses run. Even S-Bahn and Buses are not driving regularly any more. Police is running out of cops, schools are closed for the parents who are smart enough to keep their children out of the infected classes.

But the most shocking thing, Germany is running out of PCR-Tests! It's close to civil war because every boosted person want a PCR-Test, just to stay out of the nearly collapsing hospitals and beauty farms.

Read Reuters which is a reference in EU, much more reliable than CNN for EU. Cases are now at highest peak in Germany since start 2 years ago and still many deaths in Germany for German standard, much more than under flu or on roads even pushing free speed, even of course can t compete with lost war in US which should have around 60000 deaths under Omicron on January. Omicron seem also to be a real killer. Hessen clubs are closed.

Also around 300000 new cases and 400 deaths yesterday in France. More than 200 in Germany and again more than 2000 in US. Still so many deaths under Omicron. A real killer since end of last year. If you go to a hospital you will catch omicron even if you don't have it to begin with. So its better to treat it by yourself.

Omnicron spreads more easily, so you should not have to look that hard for it. With previous variants, when one person got infected in my office, it usually only spread to one or maximum two other people (sometimes zero even). With Omnicron, the outbreak is double digits.

Practically all of the people who I know got earlier variants were people in their 20's. Or people who live with multiple people to a home. Not middle-aged people with limited social circles.

I know a few people who have been infected twice. One guy visits clubs, but traced it to contacts outside of the clubs. One WG in her early 20's lost complete sense of smell for six months. A year later, she can smell but remarked it is not all the way back. That is a blessing when working with clients who have body odor. On the other hand, she finds that other clients complain that she uses too much perfume.

If the people at my office are a representative sample, Omnicron should spread easily in EU, even in FKK clubs that require daily testing. Omnicron infects boostered people. And even when symptoms appear, the first test often comes back negative. Then a few days later, they get the positive. And in the interim, infected person is super-spreading.

Funny you mention Miami. I know that ultra conservatives keep using Florida as their poster child of freedom but it got so out of hand in Miami that the city did shut down those nightclubs and strip clubs last March. The whole county even initiated a curfew.

As for density, obviously the major international gateway city of Miami is more dense than the suburbs of Darmstadt and Friedrichsdorf. To pick that ridiculous comparison, you would obviously be intentionally building a case out of bad faith.

The better metric would be to compare somewhat like cities where even relatively small Frankfurt is more dense than international gateway city of Miami.

Ever since German Omicron cases started going up in late December, deaths have steadily continued to decline, already killing less and less as each week goes by. One month later, less covid in German hospitals and certainly less covid deaths. Hospitalizations and deaths are about 50-60% of what they were on Christmas when Omicron took hold in Germany.

That's why you go see a clinician rather than assuming. Especially a poor choice when someone else purposefully spreads unconfirmed information.

Group / Herd immunity is not going to work out like you think it will. Omicron's too contagious. If you've managed to never been exposed naturally or through vaccination, even Omicron will probably suck for you. You'll live, but that vacation could very well be ruined.
