We'll speak again in about 5 to 10 years from now when you're a vet yourself, LOL!

I would like to add tip number 23: Always lick pussy. 99.9% of the girls LOVE it and will be grateful you're not selfish and try to give them a good time as well.

And tip number 24: Find out what suits you most and stick to that. Don't think you MUST love agogo's or Soi 6 or whatever because other guys on the forum are lyrical about them / it. If you don't feel at ease somewhere or think 'meh' then move on to a place you like. Always go your own way and do what you like. It's YOUR holiday.

Yes, this is still is a wonderful place for our hobby. Sure it has changed for the worse but still a lot of delicious fresh things appear on the scene daily. My sons friends (22) were asking me for the Intel for their first mission. The advice I gave is the advice I have provided here "Come with plenty of cash (6,000-8,000 THB per day) a smile and go with the flow and you will be treated like a King" 6,000-8,000 for ladies and drinks etc. A day is extremely excessive, however this upgraded amount will see your experience go from a 7 to a 10. An experience you will never forget for this and the next life.

Cheap Charlie options are available and also guaranteed a wonderful experience. But as many wise Mongers on this site have mentioned it is like going from a Toyota to a Mercedes Benz. You can also take that approach with most things here in LOS. Slightly increase your budget and the experience and value exceeds expectations. EG: Hotel rooms. Happy hunting.

Also, keep in mind that some people can do things others cannot. Indians get treated differently than Japanese, that's just the way it is. Know where you fit in. You'll have plenty of fun regardless of your background.
Hah looks like we may be in Pattaya at the same time? I'm starting out in Bangkok 23-26 then Pattaya 26-31. Short trip but all I could pull off in terms of days.

Indians get treated differently than Japanese. In what way if you don't mind me asking? I'm Hispanic but depending on where I am / who I'm interacting with people may confuse me for different races. Hispanics usually know I'm Hispanic. From there I've gotten confused for a lot of things including Indian / Middle Eastern. At the very least, I'll have a Northeast American accent hah.

Anyway, I feel like I'll need to explain at least a few times while I'm there that I'm not what they think I am so just wondering what I should expect.

I personally budget about 9,000 baht a day. I rarely use anywhere near that much though. I always come home with money left over and no regrets from being a cheap charlie. I've found that worrying about costs can dampen a holiday.

Sadly, this forum gets lurkers who think, 700 baht for a room, 50 baht for each meal, 350 for Soi 6 room, and 1000 for the girl. Maybe 300 for beer, since it's so cheap. I won't buy girl drinks. Those drinks are a rip off anyways. So, I just need 2,500 baht a day! And that's including the hotel!

I've seen people do their budgets like this and fully believe that's what will happen; it gives me a headache.

Also, notice that I said 6,000 after paying for the hotel room. If you are a lurker, don't be a stupid cheap charlie! Trust the veterans!

The suggestion to budget 6000 baht per day is reasonable and, if anything, may be on the low side now. If one thinks they want to indulge in high end gogo girls, they need to bring more. If they will concentrate on BR and Soi 6, they can get by with a little less. My recommendation is to prepay your hotel by credit card, then add up your expected expenses based upon the type of mongering you plan on doing and budget accordingly. Certainly, if this will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, don't skimp out!
I think this is a good general ballpark figure. I was just there a month ago, and can confirm that prices have doubled or even tripled since the early 2000's. I get by with 4000-5000 per day (exclusive of hotel, which I prepay by credit card) and am very comfortable. But I am in my 60's and not the firecracker stud I was 30 years ago. Now most days I just drink and flirt with the girls, maybe hang on the beach or the hotel pool a bit, get a foot massage, whatever. Figure 2000 on food drink and miscellaneous during most daytime (when I decide to hit Soi 6 for daytime then my punting expenses happen during the afternoon instead of the evening) then a 2000 or 3000 more for the evening. My preference is to meet my evening company sometime after dinner early, then an early BF and dancing, drinking maybe some other places, and an overnight back at my hotel. For this I pay 2000 to the girl, plus whatever the bar fine is (none for a FL, 300-1200 for venues from beer bars to gogos and in between depending upon where I find my mark). Days that I want to splurge on a quite attractive gogo girl add 1000-1500 to my days expenses, days that I do my punting on Soi 6 in the afternoon subtract about 1000 or so. I recommend going to various places, you never know where you are going to find that gem (WS, Beach Rd, Soi 6, LK Metro, Soi Bukhao, wherever).

From conversations with others when there, it seems definitely that young bucks who want to do 3 different stunners a day will be shelling out a LOT more. I know I spent gobs of cash in my heyday when doing things like taking four or five gorgeous girls for a private party. But those days are now in the distant memory banks, and I am just a mellow old guy who likes the company of an attractive, younger (than me), personable girl who will make me feel good all night (and only part of that time is doing the deed). Yes I can get crazy and pretend I'm 20 years younger with a bunch of blue pills and Red Bull, but after a few days it gets old and I get tired and feeling it is not worth it. Sometimes on my trips nowadays, I find a keeper and buy her out of her bar for three or four days in a row, and we go somewhere nice out of the city. It is Thailand: go with the flow, have a wonderful time, and enjoy what comes your way.

The world does change. I am going there in August. I am here reading to get an idea on what has changed. So didn't mean my post as any kind of disagreement. I am thankful for the info and advice from here.

Don't try to argue on this one. If you can't bring at least 6,000 a day, don't go. After your first trip, you can plan on how much to bring, but first time just do as I say! That 6,000 does not include hotel fare either, you cheap bastard. Seasoned Pattaya mongers spend a lot less because they already know what works for them. There is also a lot of debate about this number from seasoned guys. "

I have been to Pattaya once about 12 years ago before and did not spend anywhere close to that amount of money. Exchange rate then was about 39 thb to a dollar. I think I spent around $15 a night for motel, the roof garden inn, then Mr chans art house. Roof garden might have been $20. Food was about $1 a meal out of food carts. I spent about $20 a night on beer and lady drinks. I think I was paying 500 thb for bar fine, maybe it was less, I can't remember. I was paying 1500 thb for overnight.

I was there 2 months and probably average a girl a week. I wasn't a cheap charlie, but I was frugal. I had a couple of girls I really liked at beach club and I would buy them 1 or 2 lady drinks a night. I stayed in a frugal motel. Roof Garden had a lot of people here reccomend it. I left because I didn't book ahead and it filled up. Mr chans, next door, was a little rougher, but the people who worked there were really nice anpersomable.

It's better to have extra money if you need it rather than needing it but not having it, right? You openly admitted you were frugal, had a cheap hotel, and were getting one girl a week. Your comment will lead any Indians or other new mongers to believe they can get by one 1 k a day. I could close my eyes right now and plan out an entire day and say what I would spend at each location. That's how I could make my budget. A new guy doesn't have that luxury, so I advocate being on the safe side and say 6,000 baht. As it states, Seasoned Pattaya guys spend less.

LOL, number 4 always creates the most conversation. Thanks for reading!
