It just arrived, good. Now I just have to decide where to go to sleep because the memories I have of mtwapa push me in that direction. Never mind if there is traffic on the Malindi Road.

I offered 3000 kes to one girl who would spend the evening and night at my place. I soon realised that if I want sex, I want sex. I don't want to invest a whole evening just to have sex once or twice. She was sweet and a nice person, but the only thing I really wanted was sex. This dating game is not for me.

I started becoming a little bolder on the dating apps. Less laughing faces, more full stops at the end of sentences. Be polite but firm if you don't want to waste time with BS.

I learned to play like this too late in my stay, didn't have many girls like this. I don't even know if it works that well. I gave one girl 6000 kes for "very short time", which is short time one shot. It was the worst sex I ever had. You may end up paying more money for poor service. If you date the girl and take her back to your place, you know she won't be expecting more than 3000 kes.

Overall I loved the energy of Kenyans. Much less neurotic than Europeans, good vibes. The worst people I met were Europeans with stinky attitudes.

Mtwapa is a cozy place. Next time I want to stay closer to the beach, but I wouldn't know where. Nyali beach was nice, and the big shopping mall (Nyali Centre) is very convenient, but I expect rent to be much higher in that area. Staying in Mtwapa and taking Uber everyday is probably much cheaper, but transport is just a pain.

I didn't explore the night life. Didn't even go to Casaurina. Maybe this was a mistake, but I didn't like the vibes I was getting at night. The only night I had was a complete nightmare, I described it in a previous field report.

Coming to Mombasa means you need to get a little tough. This is not SEA. It doesn't feel safe, especially at night. There is no Sinosphere with its set of behavioural rules that maintains the social harmony and provides you with a cozy interface to interact with people. Here you are just a mzungu surrended by tribesmen and women and you talk directly to the man or woman. You feel alone.

My next trip will be in Asia, I don't know where yet. Could be anywhere between India and the Philippines. If you have any suggestion I am listening. .
Good review. Can I just ask how was the road to Nyali during the day? Traffic impossible or acceptable (given the work in progress)?

I stay on Bamburi beach, either Sai Rock or Indiana beach. I find it it much more pleasant than dusty Mtwapa. I just keep a few numbers and call the girls in to me. The odd trip to Mtwapa over my few weeks is enough to find new faces.

Two months ago, Kenya wanted tourists to pay for "Travel Insurance" at the border. Maybe Dropped.

One month ago, Kenya visa fees double. Maybe Dropped.

Today, the new name for visa is ETA and will coast $30.

In the confusion, immigration agents increase extortion from tourists.

All this right in the peak of tourist season and near government holiday. If I wasn't already in Kenya, I would go elsewhere.

I talk to girls and I find thousands of them. But going to any Kendas to pick up a Ugandan working girl or finding the same **** at the big tree that I saw the night before at the Safari Inn and negotiating the price is really pathetic. But I don't condemn the people who like all this, everyone sees it in their own way, the important thing is not to repeatedly piss you off with this story of dead nightlife in Mombasa because it's not true.
I also speak bad English but, who knows why, all women understand me perfectly when I open my wallet.

Then maybe someone likes to talk philosophy with working girls and so studying this language becomes fundamental.

*****s that you can also find in your same country on these days, white yellow and even green.

Fun to go 10,000 miles to meet a working girl but that's okay. It's important not to feel like a university professor.

I also prefer the girls I meet in their everyday life. Some will be the same ones that work at the Casaurina in the evening?

Probably. But working girls are also women. If I meet them as working girls they will be working girls. If I meet them as women they will still be less working girls.

Instead the customer who goes with working girls as such always remains the same.

    People trade sex for resources

You are paying for pussy, one way or another. And yes, you negotiate expenses all the time in life. Whether she is the daughter of a pastor or the one shaking her booty for you on the table. I tried it in the Philippines and realized I had more fun with the waitresses than the bar girls. Just better return on my investment of time and money. Since then, I don't even try to hire pros. But it doesn't stop me from watching them. I still pay for pussy, but indirectly, just as all men do! In Africa just like in South East Asia girls are using sex as a natural trade a currency weather you acknowledge it or not. The same girl who would bang a young stud for free still needs funds from a beta provider. It's called the duality of female dating strategy. If you are the one who is getting it for free, then congratulation. However, for the remaining 95% of men, the rules are made by nature. Just like penguins and other primates, people trade sex for resources. Hard-wired, and persist no matter how much wealth, resources or security that people obtain. Men are more likely to attempt to exchange investment for sex, females are more likely to attempt to exchange sex for investment.

    Nightclubs

I also find the same African working girls in my country, I find it very squalid to look for a brothel to be able to fuck. But here too it depends from person to person. There are men who want to play it safe and good for them. But I also like the game and the game with a 2000 shilling working girl is not there. That's why I say that there are thousands of sweet gazelles but you have to know how to look for them, and at the big tree there are only lionesses.

Anyone who mourns the "good old days" is missing out on life. You live today and in the future. But not in the past.

BTW: You forgot to mention Tinder and Badoo.
Yes, but I prefer meeting girls on the street because I can get a more precise idea. I don't speak English well, I know but everyone understands me. I lived over 10 years in Brazil, about fifteen in Cuba. These are all places that today are a bad copy of the past. Yet I would feel like an idiot if I said that nightlife in those places is over. Those who come for the first time don't care about how it was 20 years ago. Our Hungarian friend and his advices from discount stores are very pathetic. Only losers go to brothels and strip clubs.
