You know that the only protection doctors and nurses have are vaccination and a mask right? No Hollywood bio-hazard suits. Just plain vanilla vaccination and a mask. In surgery, they wear a mask too. When I spray paint, I wear a mask so that I don't suck the droplets into my lungs. I also spoke to 2 physicians that are die hart Trump supporters. They told me the same thing. Had everyone wore masks, we could have stopped the Covid.

If people really care about this great country, or saving American businesses, they'd stop being a fucking pussie and wear the goddam masks and stop bitching and crying that their fucking rights are violated by private business trying to protect their livelihood.

Or how do you explain the San Francisco hospital outbreak? If hospital staff, who are, in theory, experts at controlling viral spread, have an outbreak with their PPE availability, a cloth face covering is our answer? Not buying it. Does it help? Of course it does! Would it have stopped Covid? No. No way in hell. Even Lord Fauci admitted as much.

I believe we know very little about this virus, as evidenced by the results. But our experts have to say something, right? Wear a mask! Get vaxxed! But yet on it rages. And I would feel very differently if we didn't have breakthrough cases. But our experts sold us this vaccine as something it is not. If we take the CDC figures as fact, we have at least, and very conservatively, 10% of new cases are breakthrough cases. But again, they tell us most of the breakthrough cases are asymptomatic. Which means we don't have a clue how many carriers are out there because there is no reason for an asymptomatic vaccinated person to be tested.

I realize I sound like a conspiracy theorist. But damn, our leaders have been wrong at every turn. We're no closer to a solution yet we still hang on their every word? No thank you.

Really you are trying to compare the mask for spray painting droplets to the droplets of this virus? Yep, I feel the sane. If masked worked nobody in Europe or Mexico would have the Virus. They might help a little, but not much. I am getting my second Vaccine only because you will not be able to travel without it.

I have made a decision to live my life. I stopped watching the news after the election and I am much happier. They are slowly destroying are great country, it is so sad. Nobody ever talks about the devastating financial consequences if we shut down again and believe me they are trying to lock us down again. Thank God I am in Texas.

Breakthrough cases are a real thing, for sure.

What I don't understand anymore is why do we continue to follow advice from people that have been consistently wrong. Granted, this is unprecedented. However, think about what we've been told.

Masks are pointless. No, wait. Masks work: well, everywhere I went last year, mask compliance was really good at the height of new infections.

Vaccines work: Well, clearly we know now that they don't last. Back to masks even for vaccinated.

We're only at risk indoors: many of these outbreaks are from outdoor events. See p-town outbreak.

Shut down the schools. Open them because it doesn't infect children as much. Just kidding, now we might be closing them again.

Covid's bad. The lambda variant is worse. The gamma variant is worse. Now Delta is worse. And just because we have to up the fear mongering, today I learn about 'delta plus'.

It is endless fear mongering. Our president and governors are on TV telling us "you will die". What scares me is how do you escalate from there? Hold tight, we'll find out. They have found how powerful fear is. And that's not to say this virus is a joke. But I am done listening to these so called experts that, 2 years later, are still at square 1. And that's why I'm heading to the zona and what happens, happens.

I agree with everything you said. I don't have answers. All I have is complaints. LOL No doubt variants are a monumental challenge. But my frustration is that basically 2 years in, the experts are no closer to solving this. At some point, we're watching years just waste away.

You mention being in control. I think that's the hardest part for us. My own opinion is that's why the experts have sold us on masks. I don't think a piece of cotton is terribly effective. Surely it provides some protection. But I think there is a large element of feeling like a mask gives us some level of being in control when in fact, we're just not. Depressing talk. Can't wait to get back to HK to forget about this for a week.

Maybe its 3000 years away, much more likely is a nuclear war breaks out within 300 years anyway. What would be the odds of avoiding a nuclear war for even 150 years? Not very good.

Even the experts are stumped but IMO they have a better idea how to handle this over regular folks like myself. The virus won't change for our benefit. For once in our lifetimes (maybe more for some) we are not in control. We go with the flow and adapt. That is how man has responded to other challenges over the span of civilization. This is textbook type material that people will be reading about for years to come. We are making history right now whether you like it or not. I do believe things will get even more F'd up before they get better.

Obviously, I take precautions to limit any damage I can do to others. But at this point, I don't think we even know what precautions to take.

And I did not return until sometime in March 2021 after getting fully vaccinated. So yeah, I am one of those silent carriers since my symptoms were almost non-detectable. Some people laugh when they see me wear a mask. I am super immune being fully vaccinated and having natural antibodies. I ain't wearing a mask for me. I wore a mask so that I don't kill off the people that laugh at me.

I could not agree more. I'll bet I spent 40 or more nights up on the 7th floor through the worst of COVID. I don't say that to brag. It was pretty stupid but, I can fill a book with my stupidity in Tijuana. My point though: I caught COVID. I know with certainty which girl I picked it up from. But it was not bad for me. And after I got the all clear, I was right back at it. So I might still have some natural immunity. I was vaccinated and I am still within my 6 months. So I figure I've done all I can. If I get it again, I was meant to have it. This sounds foolish even as I type it but if I'm going to kick the bucket from a night of partying in Tijuana, well, it's better than an unexpected car accident. Who knows what the future holds. We've got to maximize the time we have. Obviously, I take precautions to limit any damage I can do to others. But at this point, I don't think we even know what precautions to take. COVID has already stolen so much from us for 1.5 years. Am I foolish or reckless? Maybe. But you can't take it with you when you go. Just my opinion and completely respect the decisions of others to not follow my idiocy.

I don't worry about covid any more. I don't have kids or pets and dr Fauci and his scientists determined inventing a covid that could spread to people was a good idea, even if it escaped the lab. So trust dr Fauci. The consequences are worth the discovery. It's what he said. At any rate, I hope they invent a test to see who has already gotten covid 8 n past because seriously if I didn't get it by now, 200 hours on public transportation, 100 hours in the clubs, 600 hours in stores. Than it must be my lucky year.
