Both you and Kaauh make good points. The 2nd phone is a must, IMO and the eSim I have can be activated here, no issues. The local number I have is from Virgin is in my real name but never used for calls or WhatsApps, only data when I'm not in Wi-Fi. I also have a VPN on all the time.

The downside to eSim is it can only be used on iPhone X or later (no idea about Samsung) but the set up I have works for me and I've had no issues even with family seeing the phone as I just leave it in the bottom of my bag when I'm back home.

Same here with 2 phones. Primary phone is for normal use and even for spas. On whatsapp all spas are in the archived list so they don't show on the main whatsapp page. Whatsapp is set to face recognition to open. Second phone has 2 sims, one from my home country which is tied to the whatsapp on that phone. This I use for Tinder dates and any other non spa extra curricular activity. Girls ask about that being a overseas number and my standard reply is want to maintain privacy. Many semi-pro and even some non WGs also use whatsapp with home country number.

Thanks for the info, I drive in from dubai everyday and I work behind the airport and was looking for something nearby or maybe on the way back. Tried scouring gmaps but didn't find much.

What does "behind" the airport mean?

Your best option is probably as soon as you exit / enter Dubai, there are a lot of options in DIP a lot of guys here like.

There is a have in Ghantoot which is technically in Abu Dhabi, but it's have so you're probably not going to get good value, but I've never tried it.

What does that mean: all apps, social media, etc on the burner are under a fake name I use for the hobby. The sim is a local sim which has to be linked to your EID or PP, there is no way around this here.

You can use an eSim from another country, but often times you have to be in that country to activate it, and then you have to deal with the hassles Kaauh describes.

Hey HoneyBadger. It's nothing to be excited about. I was just going to say that three options work, all with pros and cons.

I started with my sim from back home, it was still my personal number, although of course not registered to my ID here. When I got a local number, I created a second WhatsApp so I can get messages for both numbers on the same phone. It was convenient but you will get unsolicited texts all time of the day and nights, especially when business is quite for WGs like it has been over Christmas and New Year. Terrible thing if you have a wife / partner.

In addition, handlers used to be suspicious, a lot asked me to send a live location to confirm am in the country before they share pictures. Apparently, weirdos who just ask for pictures from overseas with no plan or possiblity to vist is a thing (as if the Internet is short of pictures). Also couldn't save numbers, not wanting to fill my contacts list with WGs and handlers numbers. Saving numbers helps identifying those that constantly B&S, and saves unnecessary journeys.

These negatives over a period of time became very noticeable, and I moved to a separate burner phone with a local sim registered of course to my name. This in itself is a negative but it hasn't caused me any issue. I now have a lot more control and can switch things off if and when I wish not to be contacted.

Personally, I didn't try esim, but it would probably cover the same points and keep you off the grid. Maybe BigHat or others who went with it, can add their feedback and experience.

There is a spa actually at the airport (used to be located in the hotel, not sure what the situation is with the new terminal running). No idea if its worth visiting, but I think its associated with a chain that has other AMPS that are worth visiting. To note, I did once hit up the spa at the airport and ask for a lineup, and they said "we can't send the therapists' pictures. ".

There are some AMPS on the island as soon as you cross one of the bridges, but not sure if that is too far for you.
