HK's bar tenders serve meseros. Did you ever see meseros tip them? I don't think meseros take up collection at shift's end to share their tips with them. Meseros keep all the tips they make.

Everything in La Zona works on incentives and kick backs to the individuals. Unlike the US if HK's bar tenders are allowed to take tip, the meseros would have tipped them. When I tip bar tenders I notice they put the money into the cash register, not their own pockets, and they act cool like it's not necessary or appreciated. I believe bar tenders handle cash for the boss, are not allowed to take money from the bar, and work on salary alone. If they are suspected of stealing from the bar, they may get whacked! I don't want to give tip unnecessarily to help HK's owner get richer! I would rather give that money to the poor girls.

So far they have not resented me or given me hard times. They still sell me beers cheerfully, hold my extra beers in their ice box to keep them cold and give me free beers when the floor managers order them to. I am only guessing. I may be wrong. How are the chicas in Dejavu compared to HK?

Dejavu is a whole different world. Nowhere near as many girls as HK. I go to DJV to escape the hustle of HK. You buy a girl a drink there and they will grind on you for 15 minutes. It's great. Again, you write down the party's order, relay it to the cooks, retrieve the order when the cook staff informs that it is ready, carry food to table, offer condiments and refills a couple times during the meal. I would never tip anyone unless they do something special for me. I never give money to beggars or gum sellers to encourage them to beg their whole lives. I give money to needy young mothers with babies, but not when I see them on the street again and again.

Unlike the rest of Mexico, La Zona is an unique place, a huge hot bordelo where pretty sweethearts give guys their companies, entertainment, love and sex. I agree with most of this except the part about not tipping the bartenders. I always tip whoever serves me my drink whether it's a mesero or bartender. I even tip them when they give me change in dollar bills to tip the girls, just one dollar but they seem to appreciate it.
