Ok, I'm new of this country.

I am preparing a detail report of Zone4. The "white and quite safe" area in Abidjan.

Hi,

Wafou was known for his swimming pool and girls around it.

But unfortunately that was only the past.

Nowadays, there is no movement and even the hotel is almost half empty.

The Sofitel was morger free till my last visit.

Now there are at least 2-3 semipro girls moving around in the lounge area (one very cute! ).

Everybody can easily reconize them.

Rate to be negotiate. It depends how "$hungry" they are.

No more streetwalkers outside the hotel.

I know alot of Ethopian girls here in Ghana that will blow your socks off. Ethopians are probably the hottest women in East Africa. Hands down. Eritrea a close second. All the rest belong in the dump.

I agree with this statement. I think its just assumed that dress is influenced by the francophone vs. anglophone cultures but, its more likely coincidental. Although, I do believe the food is more likely influenced by past cultures. I have met one Burkinabe woman (in Berlin two weeks ago) and she did not dress any better, in fact, worse, than the hoards of Kenyans that live in Germany and USA. As far as Nigerian, I think its individually based. I met one Nigerian who spent a great deal of time on herself and even more who appeared to be shop rats. I really have no basis to judge except...

Still, the original intent of my inquirery is "Are IC ladies more beautiful?" I think dress is a factor. The only basis is from the web pics which may or may not be fake pics as well.

I'll give a comparison. Cubanas and Colombianas are latin beauties. However, due to lack of availability of clothing and not due to taste, Cubanas do not dress as well as Colombianas so, I think Colombianas are more beautiful in general... That is a general statement. There are many exceptions but, you understand my point. The same goes with Ghana vs. IC. I suspect the Ghanese are very Cubana like and IC are very Colomiana like. Of course, I am assuming and I just don't know.

Another general observation: When Kenyans make themselves up, they seem to almost "weigh down" their heads. Its just something that looks overdone.

With food, again that's regional and cultural rather than colonial influence. If you got to west africa, you'll find fufu. During the slave trade, the slaves went away with these recipes and now you have foufou in the caribbean and north of latin america. Many of the foods that were introduced by the colonialists didn't go down very well with the native populace and in many cases their diet has remain unchanged.

As for the clothes, I'd say some national cultures are more appreciative of high fashion. Nigerians, Congolese, Ivorians, Tanzanians are into the finer things in life. Even if they're poor. I'm kenyan and I'll admit we're some of the worst dressed africans. The women get a pass but with the men its absolutely awful:.(

Well Slowalk, all i can say for now is that we on this forum love to generalise alot about womens looks and character. but lately i met alot of them hanging out in boom and aphro in accra. these women are mostly students trying to learn or shall i say brush up on their english.

anyway ratio of very goodlooking ivorians is quite high on my list. most of the women have a chocolatey colour skin, with a few beyonce coloured ones here and there. they seem to be way more fashion concious (which could be attributed to their earlier french masters, where as ghana had anglosaxon masters), more romantique, and alittle taller than their ghanaian sisters.

I would hesitate to say IC has the best looking women in the whole of africa but in the western quarter of africa, agaisnt other west-african countries like ghana, nigeria and togo then yes they are one of the best. i would even bet all the money in my bank account that it is fairly true.

It doesn't have to do with the colonial masters but rather a nascent national culture. Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger are all ex-French colonies but they don't value high fashion as high as ivorians do. Kenya and Nigeria are ex-english colonies but they take fashion more seriously in nigeria than they do in Kenya.
