I can only speak from a USA point of view. How do you tell a "fake" card from a real card? The answer is that you can't. It is a mere index card with your handwritten name and birthday. There is a handwritten vaccine lot and date and the handwritten initials or name of the place where you got it from. It means nothing to someone in the USA and will definitely mean nothing to a person in Colombia looking at one. All they are interested in is your name on the card and that a vaccine is marked in the space.

I once went to a club in Las Vegas and handed the guy my Thai driver's license to go in. He had this book with driver's licenses around the world and he looked it up. My 2-year license has a blue stripe at the top because I do not have a visa to get the five year one which has a purple stripe at the top. In the book it only had a picture of the one with the purple. He did not let me in because according to him my 100% real license is fake.

So what is to stop anyone in Colombia from claiming your real foreign vaccine card is fake (and according to you, throwing you in a Colombian jail) or believing your fake foreign vaccine card is real?

    New entry rule to Colombia

Airport Closing for a few days

Jose Maria Cordova International Airport in Rio Negro will be closed on February 19, 20, 26 and 27th.

If you have flights in or out of Medellin on any of those dates--contact your airline because your flight has been changed.

Chica tried to hack my Western Union account

Haven't used Western Union (WU) in a long time because my Chucky Schwab card does the job. Logged on the other day and there were four attempts to transfer money in the amounts of (USD) $1000, $1000, $20, then $1500, all on the same day. All transactions were "canceled". The name used was a girl I have been sexing recently and have known for a couple of years but she never even got close to being on my ranked line-up, mainly because as I have referred to her here before, she is the craziest girl I know in Colombia. Also the freakiest in bed. I don't know how she did it, I don't remember leaving her alone for a second but I was fuckin' high as a kite, who knows. Anywho, of course she denied it, I changed my WU password and blocked her on WhatsApp and her phone number. Sad, really.

    Remember they have Confession

Don't forget the main above-ground religion here by far is Roman Catholicism, and they specialize in instilling guilt..
I learned this as a kid from the Catholics in my neighborhood and have been reminded of it throughout the years even by an interview with a hit man in a documentary. Catholics can and do go to Confession where they ask for forgiveness but don't have to spell out what they have done. The priest then tells them that they have been forgiven and their conscience is cleared of any guilt they may have had. Guilt is gone and now on to the next sin. But take advantage of it and you are whether or not it was realized. They couldn't do what they do if they had a guilty conscience. Enjoy, you have been forgiven. Too. It's no coincidence that there are so many by the Church Veracruz.

Sharing in private via PM is better. It is generally not good idea to post FB profiles as publicity and subsequent deluge ruins it for everybody. Soon 150-200 fb rates would become history and many would turn into Diva.
You've got to be kidding me. Sharing is caring.

Don't let the, quote you anything. You offer them 150-200 mil, and most of them will go for it or ask for a little more or taxi additional etc. Not sure why people feel they have to let the girl make the first move. Colombian culture is e guy makes the offer. If you let them they will throw so, e ridiculous rate, and some fools will pay it.

If It Sounds Like A Duck

They just follow the WHO recommendations I think. I took the name of the lady who talked to me.
A few days ago, Minisalud came out with some new guidelines relative to testing. They basically said that if it walks like a duck, and sounds like a duck, it's a duck.

In essence what they said was that there was no need to do testing of younger healthy people who had the symptoms of the Omicron variant. In other words, if it is obviously Omicron based on the symptoms, why bother testing. I think Colombia looked at the "gaggle" with testing in the USA, and figured it was a total waste for younger healthy people who basically would have to wallow thru something similar to a cold.

Also, I noticed something today which I found alarming at the Pobaldo Metro Station, they have an electronic billboard stating that if you ride the Metro, you have a much higher risk of becoming infected.

I am on the Metro a lot, and have witnessed people with coughs, and on a few occasions people sweating.

I have curtailed riding the Metro, and always wear a KN95 or N95 mask.

Also, given that very few people are getting tested, I believe the daily COVID infection numbers being reported are way off.

I think on Thursday it was something around 5,000 for Antiquoa, but that number could easily be 3 or more times higher.

If you staying at a hotel, do you have to notify the hotel that you are positive and do hotel kick you out or charge you more? Is it way to get another hotel, and since you have to inform it too that you are covid positive, do they refuse or charge more?

BTW I am not covid positive but I am planning to visit Medellin soon and may have to deal with a scenario if I catch the virus.
Courtesy says you inform the hotel. Otherwise they won't know to take extra precautions.

Since this happened to me, I will repeat my experience. After getting the positive test I called the front desk to inform them. It was a Courtyard by Marriott (near Bogota airport) and pretty expensive, about $71 per night. My original plan was a 2 night stay and it was convenient for me.

The hotel manager told me he would inform the staff, and without me mentioning anything about the cost, lowered the price to $59 per night, which saved me a little.

I ordered all my meals from room service. Whenever a meal was delivered they would park a cart in front of my door with the food bagged up on top. After knocking on the door, room service would stand on the other side of the hall while I retrieved the food. Every day the manager would call and ask how I was doing, and whenever I called the restaurant they would also ask about my health. With one meal they even handmade a little get well card for me.

Probably the biggest change was no housekeeping. Instead, after a few days, they brought a tote full of sheets, towels, cleaning supplies, masks, hand sanitizer, and all the soap, shampoo, etc.

If you're planning ahead for this, which is a good idea, I would decide before the trip where to quarantine. If the cost is an issue, choose a more economical hotel. If money isn't a concern, find a place more comfortable. A good in-house restaurant is nice, although expensive, or there's always Rappi. The day before your test, switch hotels, for your last 2 nights. Then, if you test positive, all you need to do is inform the hotel and wait it out.

I doubt if any hotel would kick you out, or raise your rates.
