Since there are plenty to sift through in the dedicated Rio hotel thread (and it's dated), I know of 2 GF hotels in Copa on Avenida Atlantica (where you probably want to be if you like the beach). First, I can personally attest to the fact that JW Marriott is GF. Another one is Portobay. Never been or stayed there, but I've read several reports that suggest it is GF indeed.

While JW Marriott sounds fancy, it's not more expensive than other good hotels on Atlantica. Can be had for under $100 depending on the time of the year.

If you're willing to stay farther away from Copa, there is Hyatt Regency in Barra, which is also GF and a great beach-front resort, but I wouldn't recommend Barra for the first-time visit.

The bus I take from Transamerica to Centro is part of my rent, and is one of the best hacks of living in this or similar condos in Barra.

This is important because a uber from barra to centro is 50 r. For 50 r you can get 20 minutes, or for $100 r you can get 40 minutes in most prives or in VM.

I have cut and past the schedules and a picture of the bus, which goes straight from Transamerica at av gastao senges 395 to the US Consullate at av presidente wilson 147, across the street from my beloved Swiss Embassy, and even past the Russian Embassy in Leblon.

As has been said by mongers like Sperto here, I have no power to "let you monger in your own way" -- indeed you have the power to ignore me. But we writers as you know, are craven for attention, and I appreciate even a negative review, senor ZS.

So I guess taking a public bus to Centro prives every day at 10 am for a cheap compulsory covered fuck is somehow more redolent of male virility and novelistic romance in your eyes? I stayed at the JW Marriott 3 weeks ago, had no issues bringing a girl for a pernoite. We could've just walked past to the elevator, but she wanted to do the right thing and showed her ID at the front desk, no issues either way. Try to get an ocean front room, and breakfast buffet was pretty good too.

Stayed here 4 nights. It's easy to bring girls to your room. The elevators are before the reception and the reception staff is always busy and have no idea who stays in the hotel. Nice rooftop terrace with pool and bar.

If I had more time, I would "deep dive" into the prives more, but typically I don't have that time. Only so much time, energy, and money. From the very first trip, I fell in love with the termas.
