Hi, all,

I have wandered through this forum and I have to admit. It is pretty discouraging.

After 3 years based in Yangon, where night life was rather exciting. As long as you know who to talk too. The lecture of your experiences and my soon arrival to Dhaka is leaving me somewhat womewhat ondering what I am gonna do with my sleepless nights?

Can anyone tell me is there are any night clubs where encounters can happen or anything apart from the dodgy "rental" hotels?

As EZ pointed out, all is a matter of the amount of time spent locally, but I will definitely appreciate all pointers that could cut me off some learning time.

By the way, am I enquuiring about the lakeshore apartment residence. Is it worth it?

I visited the vintage inn for few times. The difference is not much though. On more than one occassions, more than fifty percent of the girls produced before me were the same old hats I weared in Green Star. It means that there are almost fixed number of girls roaming around either green star, vintage of any other places. If you are regular to more than one of these then you will see the matter by yourself.

I was not born or brought up here, but now live here by choice. And if someone told me I would have to stay here "forever" I would be out of here in a heartbeat. I come and go as I please, mainly southeast asia.

First thing, I am not into the guest house scene. I sure did go that route when I first got here, familiarizing myself with the scene but only in Gulshan/Banani/Baridhara. Then i got connected so had the gals coming out to my place. Now I have a group of girls who I consider my "friends" that come and see me when I like.

As far as blackmail, no worries for me on that. I dont have any family here, nor am I a "society" person. I stay lowkey anonymous, my circle being the expat community only.

The rule here is the Golden Rule, the one with the Gold makes the rules, like any other place. No raids no nothing if you just follow common sense, have your own place, take care of the less fortunate and smile always.

Having lived in the USA for almost 30 years, I now prefer to be here, much easier living, maybe not open like Thailand, but you can create your own lifestyle here if you are here long enough.

Finally had the chance to pop by the new place introduced by member PolePole. Many thanks.

First of all, let me tell you fellas that this place is not as easy to find as it may seem. I personally spent around 30mins spinning around like a dumbass trying to find Road 81 or Road 82.

Any*****, let me first enlighten some fellas in here on how to get there. The simpliest way I know, is to come from the airport and through Baridhara DOHS (if you do not even know where Baridhara DOHS is. Not meaning to sound rude, but you can forget it. You'll most likely never find this place.). Anyway, going through Baridhara DOHS, all the way to the very end, where you will have a T junction (basically either you go left or right, cannot go straight). Hang a right, and follow the road, which should bend to the right (which you will then pass a hosipital on your left hand side) then come up to a T junction very quickly, hang a left here (1st left turn possible after passing the hosipital). Go straight, and go straight again when you get the option to go left, go right or go straight. You should then see the Italian Embassy on your right, and Road 81 on your left. Hang a left and stop immediately, cause the 1st house on your left, well, thats it. House 10/A.

Knock on the gate as per PolePole's advise, and voila, open sesame. The "gate opener" spoke to me in Bengali, and I pretty much said, "girl girl. " and walked in pretending I know where I am going.

The "gate opener" quickly guide me to another guy who came out of the hotel, and escorted me to a room. All the while, being stared at by fellow patrons, like a white monkey doing a dance.

Today I was again at the place that I wrote about a few days ago.

It is called the "Vintage Inn" and is located in Gulshan, Rd. 82 Hs. 10/A. It is somewhat behind the embassies of Russia and Quatar and close to the Italian embassy. The House is behind a big white gate. Just knock and someone will open for you. Their business card says "an exclusive foreigner's lodge" and the choice there, I think, is quite ok. At least the girls were really trying to please.

I just think, you have to bargain a bit harder than I did. If somebody wants to try, just let me know, how much you paid.

. And if you stay at the Lake Castle Hotel, you can ask the rickshaw pullers outside for a guy named Hassan. He can show you some more places.
