Best seafood. You'll get an argument but for my money it's Lionfish. Erizo Market is also very good.
Best overall experience. Animalon in Valle de Guadalupe.
Best pizza. Caccio. Honorable mention. El Hornero.
Best steak. El Grill.

Posts: 599What's the best bang-for-buck first-world level restaurant in Tijuana?
I love the carts in Zona Norte and Tacos El Franc, but if I'm looking to impress friends (who have no connection to the mongering life) with living the high life in Tijuana at cheaper rates, where would you go?
Caesar's with its history? I imagine a steak house or sushi place would probably be the best bet since those places are traditionally spendy, but my friends are seafood people too. I'm looking for super-clean-type places, a little Montezuma's revenge would cause them to be not as impressed.

The "best" might be at Wasabi, on Sanchez Taboada. But best sushi in Tijuana is like being the fattest Red Hot Chili Pepper. It's a very low bar.
Really good sushi? Not in Tijuana.

About 10 minutes from HK just south of downtown is a cool restaurant area. Last Sunday afternoon we were trying to eat at some other trendy 206 xxxx something place which I can't remember the name but didn't want to wait 1 HR+ at about 5 pm. Mr. Pampas do Brazil was really good! Only like $20. Unbelievable. They also had live entertainment. Best part was just being able to talk across the table with other bro's instead of yelling in HK where you can't hear shit and who can really focus on a conversation with all those beautiful girls walking around!
Should do that more often as it's great to learn from others experience about mongering around the world. Thanks to CAP for networking the bro's together.

The food is also a good reason to go to Tijuana. Everything is fresh and spicy.
The HK taco stand serves some of the best beef and pork tacos in Mexico, $1. 25 a piece. A noob ordered 4 tacos, thinking they were as tiny as Taco Bell's, but they were about twice or three times as big. He was struggling with the third tacos and gave up, gave the last one to a woman with child.
Mariscos El Choforo serves a deliccious combo seafood, quesadilla, consomme and soda for $3.50.260 Korean Grill and Bar AYCE for $13. Mr. Pampas and Churrascaris do Brasil in Zona Rio for $20.
We would go to La Zona's bars, drink and party, go to dinner, then come back to party some more.

Posts: 6523260 Grados Korean Grill and bar
5 of us took an UBER from HK to 260 Grados about 5 PM Sunday. It's on the main blvd Taboada, 1 block South of Mr. Pampas.
A nice, clean, modern place, costs only 260 pesos or $13 AYCE for cuts of beef and pork. The charred and smoky beef smelled delicious. It's cheap so very popular. About 20 couples were waiting in front of us. The mesera said about 1 hour wait. I offered her $20 to take us in early. She was tempted but told us to wait.
The guys were anxious to eat and go back to La Zona, so we walked 1 block North to Mr. Pampas. We had a good salad bar with all kinds of pasta, shell fish, beef tartare with all cuts of meat served sizzling hot at the table. The Picanha top sirloin in medium rare was juicy, delicious; the prime ribs were tender, melt in your mouth, with a charred fat cap. Dinner with beer and tips costed $120 for 5 so $24 a piece. Beers should be $2. There was no sign of the week night discount. Chalk it up to CoVid.
I would have waited a little longer for 260 Grados. $13 is a very good deal so it was popular. A bro was grumpy that he missed the Sojus hehe. Avoid this place at dinner time on weekends. Week nights should have minimum wait.
