Golden Time definitely takes credit cards, and the merchant name is obscure on your bill. Golden Time is up the hill of the road past the KFC, up towards McDonald's. Golden Time is in the strip mall across the Tumba Muerto, between the Quizno's and Popeye's. It has a bright yellow lighted sign; you can't miss it.

I think the girls from the western part of Panama are lighter skinned and more classically latina-looking, instead of the afro-influenced women of Panama City. I haven't met a panamanian working girl that wasn't what most gringos would call "black".

David and Boquete are safe, but it's a 6-hour bus ride or a 1-hour plane ride. I don't think there's much about mongering in Boquete in this forum, but it's a beautiful place and completely opposite of P-City: cool and calm.

I'll try to help you out with a few responses to your questions:

1. Bella Vista or El Cangrejo will not be noisier than El Dorado. It will be kind of the same thing unless you live by a club, disco or something similar. I would say they are better locations than your current one, though.

2. Can't help here since I ususally get very good accommodations because of work.

3. GT gladly accepts CC. I would be surprised to find out about any place in Panama city of a certain standing that does not take CC.

4. Don't know of any normal Chinese massage place in town. Most people are not really looking for a real massage anyway. And you will find Chinese people mostly anywhere you go.

5. The Chiriqui/David/Boquete area is not really the place where you will find more beautiful girls but the area is definitely safe and girls are more relaxed. Could be more convenient for getting regular chicas.

Here's a few tricks that've worked so far:

1. Cab -> El Dorado from airport for $20. I was originally quoted $25-30 but found it for $20. I got details for driver, if you want it PM me.

2. Tipping: it appears it isn't customary to tip here. I suppose for most of us $1 tip won't mean much but seeing we don't want to mess up gringo prices further, prob best to avoid

3. Casino near Miami - not sure name, but I saw some cuties wandering around. I imagine most of them even non-pros would be interested.

4. Apartment vs Hotel: I managed to get a room in an apartment with my own private shower in El Dorado, literally across from Club Miami, for just around $500 for the month. Also has AC and wifi, and a chain of restaurants around including Niko's Cafe and a bunch of chinese restaurants.

My questions:

1. I wonder if I can do better in terms of location as I want to do some tourist things. Thinking to try a hotel in Bella Vista or El Cangrejo but I hear it's even noisier there. Any thoughts?

2. Any central hotels for around $20-$30 a night have reliable wifi and are somewhat 'quiet' for Panama City? How's Maripariso/Latino/Monaco compared with California?

I just returned from Panama. The purpose of my trip was not mongering but rather visiting Panama, while taking advantage of the chica scene on the side.

I was only in Panama City for several days, with the rest of my trip in Boquete.

In Panama City, I checked out the Veneto and Habanos. I did not go to La Bodequita because I do not like dancing and I heard it was difficult to talk as the music is very loud and difficult to get a good look at the chicas because the lighting was darken. Although the girls at Golden Time are supposed to be great looking, I prefer taking a chica to my room for a more relaxed atmosphere. As one guy described it to me, Golden Times is like being in a hospital. Everything is done with surgical precision. I heard excellent things about the quality of the chicas at the Palace but the price of taking a chica out of that place ends up costing about $300-$400, which is way too expensive for me.

I really enjoyed Habanos much more than Veneto. The Veneto and Habanos seem to have the same chicas as I would see the same ones at both places. At the Veneto, it is noisy and much more difficult to talk.

I speak basic Spanish. I like to talk to the chicas before deciding if it is worth my time to move forward with any transaction. At both places, the chicas wait for you to make the first move by motioning them to sit down. There is no pressure. As a "buyer" you constantly get to see many different chicas that seem to appear on a regular basis.

I had 4 different nights in Panama City. During the day, I was on tours, besides my time in Boquete. From my perspective, most of the chicas were overweight and full of silicon. Both characteristics are a turn off to me. Saying this, there are about 20% of the chicas who have thin bodies and are really good looking. I do realize that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

There were definitely enough really pretty and sexy chicas for me to have alot of options. Almost everyone starts off at $150. With some hesitation, it is easy to get the price down to $100. As one guy told me, if you bargain too hard, your experience will be that much worse. On one occasion, the price was $80.

I can say that with all 4 chicas, I had a great time. Our time together was relaxed and full of play and fun. Speaking Spanish was definitely a bonus as I was interested in knowing much about the chicas. Showing an interest in them also stimulates their interest in you.

I had one chica who was totally honest with me. She was a dental student from Columbia and had only been in Panama for 10 days. She was there only to make money for school. Her family did not know about her working habits in Panama. I asked her if she liked the "work" that she was doing and she told me, without any hesitation, "no". I don't blame her. Although she did not like the 'work", she was fun to be with and we talked as much as we had any sexual activities, which I personally find more enjoyable.

On another occasion, I was ready to make a deal with this really cute, sexy, non silicon, Colombian. In our conversations, she was all business like and told me that I had to pay the money in advance (which I do not mind doing) and that our time together would be strictly only an hour. With further questioning, she made it clear that the time limit would be strictly enforced. I then told her that I wanted a chica with more "affection" than strictly a business transaction. We both parted ways without any animosity or any relationship.

In summary, I thought that Habanos was a great place to find cute, thin, and sexy chicas. I prefer a quiet setting over the noise of the Veneto.

This forum has been an excellent resource for me and I wanted to give you my thoughts for those gonig to Panama in the future.

Borat, It's not far away from Cangrejo, maybe 10 or 15 minutes unless the traffic is bad. El Dorado has Golden Time and Miami. Both are around $90 for 45 minutes to an hour, room included. GT, which is set up like a massage parlor, is open from 7:30 PM, and Miami, a strip club, is open in the afternoon but doesn't get going good until the evening. GT is a great option -- there's more wall to wall beauty there than any brothel I've visited , and the price is right. In the $90 range, Miami is the best strip club option in Panama City. The best option during the day would be Caribbean Center, a massage parlor that runs around $60. There are no shortage of women of the type you describe in these places. That said, there are a lot more light-skinned hookers downtown. The biggest problem, you might get bored in El Dorado. You don't have the variety of bars, restaurants and casinos that are available in downtown.

If the price difference is $400/month, you're going to save money unless you're paying taxis for 3 or 4 round trips a day to downtown.

I found an affordable place in EL DORADO area, but was advised it's far away from center like Bella Vista and El Cangrejo. What do you guys think? I would save around $400 by staying in El Dorado, I think. (but then if taxis cost $2-3 each way, then that could add up even more).

On the other hand I realise some of the better mongering venues are in El Dorado. I like white/colombian/brazilian/spanish types, and wonder if places like GT be the most recommended for what I'm looking for.

....$20-25 for a ride from the airport to my hotel.

My advice is to go upstairs to the departure gate, wait for a cab to drop off passengers, and then offer $20-25. Cabbies don't like to drive away empty, and even if they have to circle back to the arrival gate downstairs to catch the next fare, they will have to get in line and let the engine idle. Even if they get their next fare quickly, it will likely be a local, who will try to haggle them down to $15 or even $10.

With you waiting for them to drop off, they don't have to wait, they get a good fare, we carry fewer bags than returning locals, and they drop us off at a hotel where they can pick up a third fare real quick.

Caution, there may be rules agains them picking up at the departure level upstairs, so be discrete, be quick, and avoid the attention of the traffic cops. Also, insist - I repeat - insist that you are the only passenger. If you must double up, insist you get dropped off first. Nothing slows down your groove than waiting while the cabbie helps another passenger find a cheap hotel and finding that one or more fleabags are already full.

The airport taxi will gouge you. It's $25 to center city. Plus they always hit you up for the toll, another $2. 00.

I usually clear customs get outside and in my functional share spanish tell the taxi guys I want to share a taxi.

Usualy wait 2 to as much as 15 minutes before someone is found, then its $15. To center city.

I'd only recommend renting a car if you planned on driving alot outside the city to Colon, the pacific beaches or up in the mountains.

Is it really $35 for a taxi from the airport to the Marriott? -To the "City of Knowlege" Holiday Inn, $42? It's been a long time since I've paid a taxi driver that much money........like maybe Laguardia to JFK. I thought taxis were cheap in PTY or do you just get gouged at the airport?

-does it make any sense to rent a car? (I usually don't rent cars in Latin America).

It should be only $25 from airport to anywhere downtown PTY. If a taxi driver quotes you more, move on to the next driver. (Also, make sure that they won;t charge you additonal for tolls).

I've never been to Campo Alegre, don't know what SN is, and have only walked by Baro Boca Torena during daytime. But suspect you'd be damn lucky to find something there close to the hotties in LDV or the Del Rey. If you're looking for very attractive women check out Golden Time, Le Palace and Elite. Also you'll run across a few freelancers in La Bodeguita and the Veneto that are really hot. And if this is a joke, how does Baro Boca Torena compare to DelRey/LDV -- quit being a hoser, Hoser.

I'm being serious and here's why:

My favorite places in Monterrey Mexico are not the expensive places but two of the lower end places. I seem to find friendlier, less expensive GFE type chicas in the lower end places and I've been with some very beautiful latinas in these dumps. Now that said, Campo Alegre has lots of lesser attractive chicas but that was a few years ago so I'm not sure of the calibre now. SN is San Nicolas (Aruba) which I thought the quality was quite high so I'm going back this year. I just booked (tonight) a CTG trip with a 3 night stopover in PTY so I'll check it out for myself. Since I'm very much a gringo with limited spanish I'll want to go with a wingman and preferably Paul Gore.

I just booked at Las Vegas Hotel (http://www.lasvegaspanama.com/) for a trip in Feb. The rate I was given for a studio (with email correspondece with a "Guillen") was $60. 50/nite, instead of the $77 shown on the website. This is my second trip to PTY and last time I stayed at the Venetto, which is double the price. The Las Vegas is only a 2 minute walk from the Venetto.

First timer that most likey hittn PTY.

I've had better GFE with Colombianas in Panama and Cartagena, I think because the hookers come from other cities, are away from home, and are more amenable to a BFE (boyfriend experience). They don't have to worry about their friends and family seeing them out at restaurants, etc., and there's no boyfriend or husband lurking in the background. If you're talking about beauty, Colombian women in Golden Time and Le Palace (Panama), La Dolce Vita (Cartagena) and even the Blue Marlin (Costa Rica) stack up against the best I've seen in Bogota or Medellin -- Casanova was the only place I've been to in those two cities that would be in the same league. I should qualify by saying it's been several years since I've been to Bogota and Medellin.

How would you compare the chicas in Baro Boca Torena to DelRey, Campo Alegre, SN, LDV etc.
