Is it possible to go from Phnom Penh by bus / train / car to the border of Vietnam and get a visa to enter on the spot? I am a US citizen if that makes a difference.

Here is a question for the experts. I have seen mentions often that prices are lower and less high pressure mongering in provincial towns away from HCMC or Hanoi. I would love for someone to give some names for these towns and hotels in there so I can check out on my next trip. Thanks in advance.

Check out my reports of an area called Ha Tinh in "Other Areas" I think that would fit your description of less well visited places. Only an hour and a half from Vinh as well, so fairly easy to get to.

There is a thread for "Other Areas" and I recall it had discussion of places like Nha Trang, Vung Tau and Can Tho.

Nha Trang and Vung Tau are already well known and have a established market, similar to HCMC. Can Tho I would like to know more about. Are there any other locations? Can John Dao provide some info please?

Hi D Cups, what is the cross street for Benny's? Seems DBP is a pretty long street. Also, does the BBBJ include CIM? Thanks.

The moment you crossed over the bridge of DBP street is Binh Thanh District, it's about 100 yards on your right hand side. Benny's and My Tien is couple hundred feet next to each other, I paid 90K at Benny and 100k at My Tien last December, the tip it about 100k each for my first time, I did tip more the next few times. Yes BBBICIM.

Do your search there. HKG seems to be the place but overpriced compared to BKK.

IMHO best and cheapest option is airasia. Com from BKK. You can also fly to AC from BKK on cebupacificair. Com and have much better time in BKK than HKG.

No, that kind of pricing is not the norm here. Go in, and ask up front how much a drink costs. Your drink should be around 50 K VND,"lady drink" should be around 60 K VND. All in all, less than 6 USD for both drinks. Hope you enjoy it here. What hotel are you at?

I am new on here, this is my first post and I figured the general info section was where to post this, sorry if I got it wrong. I just had some q's that I was hoping you guys can answer. I have read lots on here in the past couple days since arriving in hcmc, I plan to stay in town here for a few days and get some mongering done before I start my regular tourism.

I am new to mongering in vietnam, but I've been to Thailand lots. Over there, as I'm sure many of you know, the whole scene is much more in your face and there are mongers everywhere to drink with and help out with info. Here it seems to be more hidden and frowned upon. From what I have read on here there is quite a big variation in prices depending on what you want and where you get it. Is there somewhere on the site that has a general menu / info list?

I read on here lots about hot toc, I thought it was the name of a place but now I realize it means hair cut place. There seems to be many sexy ladies at these places, do they fuck or do HJ or what? I saw one by my hotel, but being a bald guy I didn't want to walk in to a haircut place that actually cuts hair. I read that these places are around 100. 000 plus 100. 000 tip but still not sure if the tip is for sextra service or what.
