I DON'T KNOW if this is common practice but that's how I got mine.

Posts: 632Vietnam tourst visa from Snooky
I read somewhere (so not 100% sure about this), I was thinking of getting a Vietnam visa from Snooky instead of PP but not 100% sure this can be done at Snooky as I prefer not having to travel back to PP to get one.
Now assuming its possible, any idea how long this visa process will take and the current price (for a US citizen)
I think the current price in PP is about $35 and takes 2 days. One to drop off and next day pick up.

Prices should be ok at $5 unless there was a management change since last year. So let us know how this turns out.
Good to hear about not checking for driver /bike license b/c it was the reason I didn't rent one and was at the mercy of the thieving motodops/taxi.Last edited by Admin; 08-13-09 at 08:38.

Thanks for the update. Can Viet girls (my predeliction ) still be found at Blue Mountain/Omui Street? I've always had a better time with them in Snooky than in PP or HCM. I'm travelling to the East again next month, but having read all the negative PP reports, I was tending not to include Cambodia in my itinerary this time, but a good selection of Viet girls in Snooky will definitely tip the scales.
Thanks!

there hasn't been much about sihanoukville recently, so i thought i would give a brief heads up on things around there.
blue mountain is operational, prices seem to be 10 dollars these days. only the "main place" is open, couple of other good joints have closed.
on omui street some old well-known places which used to be closed for some time are fully up and running again these days.
chicken farm is as usual. there was some sort of raid a couple of weeks ago but since then things are as usual. price 5 dollars as before.
victory hill has changed a lot. bonobo is gone. tropicana bar has a new aussie owner who is randomly violent towards customers and locals. the place is full of cctv cameras and it is under police investigation. he is digging his own grave. do not go there unless you are looking for trouble! other places on the street are ok, but not my cup of tea. there are a couple of new places on the street: honey bee bar and safari bar, also mosquito and crazy rabbit as before. in some places you can not bar-fine straight-forward but you have to buy a certain amount of lady drinks.
freelancers can be found at freedom as before, but it closes these days at midnight i believe. on occhuteal beach you can find freelancers after midnight at chiva's shack. they used to be at dolphin but now they have been banned from there due to some problems with the lea.
wherever you go, be careful. the old de-facto age of consent for anything used to be 15, but since the new 2008 anti-trafficking law, the limit is strictly 18 if the situation has any similarity to prostitution. this is strictly enforced and ngo's are setting up traps every now and then (christian organizations are hiring **** girls to seduce and have sex with foreigners so that they can do busts to get more publicity and aid money from western donors).
lots of motorbike thefts recently. also, you need to wear a helmet and have mirrors or you will need to pay fines (3000-5000 riel) or your bike might be taken to the police station (expensive). nobody has been asking for driver's licenses any more.
the bus station has moved to omui street.
that is all for now.

I don't have any information on brothels or chicken farms. I went to see a coyote dancer that was working in the hotel at the time and she took good care of me. Her and her friends all liked to go to the Hollywood disco a few hundred meters from the hotel after work and there were plenty of women in there for the taking.
In the hotel next to the Holiday Palace (same side of street, farther from the border crossing), there was live music and dancers who were available in a lounge.
Be aware that with the new Thai visa rules, that if you re-enter Thailand at Poipet / Aranyapathet you will only be given 14 days in Thailand.

Another good thing is that I don't think the rates have changed that much since your last visit to KK.
