Granada: The Gringo Tree
Tourists have spoiled the local populace. Part-time residents have spoiled the local populace. Retired Gringos have spoiled the local populace.
Why? The tourist travel to Granada and give anybody a few pesos just to feel good! Tourists travel to Granada to volunteer (ie. give free sh*t) for the local populace. The NGOs have done more harm to Nicaragua than good. Why? 'Cause the local populace knows that they will get something for nothing and therefore do nothing. Some other "sucker a*s Gringo" will come in a few weeks or days and give them / bring some more free sh*t. There is no shortage of "Good Hearted Gringos."
These Tourist Gringos will provide the local populace with two (2) free meals per day. Some pocket change. Some clothing. Or whatever. It's disgusting.
We residents dislike Tourist Gringos. Why? 'Cause we live here; know / understand the populace; witness the regalos (ie. gifts); and co-exist with these loafers / voludos (ie. lazy people) and know that they are causing more damage than good.
Females: With so many "sucker a*s Gringos" passing through on their Central American vacation or Costa Rica visa stamp, they see lots of prospects. These bobos (ie. fools) pay US $40 per polvo plus hotel fees for SW. The "sucker a*s Gringos" marry stank b*tches; purchase / rent their family a home with food allowance and pocket change; get the hoe USA citizenship; and offer her family the refuge program. She then runs around town telling everyone how she married a Gringo and received the above. Everyone else says if that looser a*s b*tch can win BIG then I can too. And the vicious cycle begins. All of the local Gringos laugh at the Tourist / Part-time Gringo resident: All of the local Nicas love sucker a*s fool. Why? 'Cause they don't have to do anything and will win BIG.
Females: If you're a local Gringo resident you do not want to date a Granada girl. Why? The above paragraph. These girls are contaminated in thought. Instead, you want to do everything possible from exposing your girl to the Granada mentality.
The Gringo Tree: Everyone, especially females, cannot understand that Gringos are not rich. If you need money just go to the machine (ie. ATM.) It doesn't matter that they themselves have never used an ATM. They do not understand that for the ATM to work one must have money in the bank account. They believe that Gringos have money and it's just like plucking a leaf from a tree- "The Gringo Tree."
It's funny! If you do not follow the advice of Meat Loaf posts, you will get played all day long! 10-years and I have yet to pull caballo.
"Goodhearted Gringos" come to town to work in daycare centers (LOL), build toilets, play soccer, teach English, missionaries. What these Gringos should do is offer something of value like educational expenses similar to the "La Esperanza" project. Everything else is nothing more than futile feel good sentiments with no ROI.
The "Gringo Tree" is worse in San Juan del Sur due to the yachts, cruise ship, and mansion residences.
Residents whether full-time or part-time are not stupid like the tourists 'cause they live here too and witness this nonsense daily. Nonetheless, we have to exist in this environment.

Truth is, there are few places / cities in the American Hemisphere worthy of fear of travel and those places I seek out for residence and fun!
ISG is just one resource for research when planning for travel / relocation. You still must use other resources for a well-balanced opinion and analysis.

(Hey ML, I got news for you - most of the rest of the world's population outside of the Good Ole You Assssss of Aye speaks in at least 2, 3 or even more languages. As an example, even the dumbest, least educated WG's in Asia usually speaks at least 2 languages - one their "National Language, and second, their own province/municipality/area's dialect!).

It is like an onion....
i don't post often and i am not too much the paying monger, but i do get out and around. after living in managua, and obviously nicaragua, for 3 years i will give you my take on things. managua has many layers, get to know them and peel them back.
if you don't speak spanish decently and don't have some decent social (game) skills your going to be relegated to going to those dingy clubs everyone mentions. managua is a tourist friendly place in the sense of low risk of terrible violent crime, but it is not tourist friendly, hell nothing in nicaragua is easy, in terms of it being an easy place to have at will entertainment.
if you speak spanish and can look decent and not be a mouth breather and get out and about their is easy and cheap skirt in nicaragua like probably no other place in north america. nicaragua blows cr in roi.
if you go to any of the "middle of the road" disco's i. e. matrix, shaman, el mango, mr. sponge and have a few beers at the bar you will be approached by young, usually decent looking, pro-am's that will hook up with you for outright cash or just "a good time for all" type arrangement. you can pick and choose, literally.
some of the "middle of the road" bars like piratas or los idolos will always have some "pro-ams" there that will approach you if they are sure you are an "extranjero" and that you will probably be leaving town.
i can't do this as mga, for as big of a town as it is, is also a very small peyton place and the one time i did meet up with a really sweet little 23 year old in a disco it was back at my work place the following monday. obviously somebody saw me.
just 3 weeks ago i stopped into matrix/star city to get some cash at the casino and have a beer, i was with a group of about 5 people. in going to the pisser i had two different chicas approach me and let me know they were "working and playing". i was quoted $100 tln, which i declined, and on the way out of the pisser the price had dropped to $75, which means between $40 and $50 realistically.
i have a buddy that met two young law students here, paid for a night out, some good raunchy sex and then took them to corn island with him for 3 nights. on going threesome from basically a mainstream resturant in managua, his total cost about $800 for 4 nights and 3 days, that ain't bad at all and these were not only good looking girls, but decently educated and respectable ones also.
meat loaf is a trove of good info, but he runs in a different circle than i do, hence he has some insight i don't and likely i have some that he does not. hence our info and and takes might be different.
managua is not an athetically pleasing place, but you can day trip out of here and do some interesting stuff, you can also do some really cheap things and get a good bang for your buck.
i have been going to cr for years, it is what it is, but hands down mga is cheaper, easier (if you speak spanish and can go without having your hand held), and better for the extended gfe experience.
there are websites in spanish which are basically something similar to aff, do some research and make some contacts prior to visiting.

Nicarauga has a rep of being safer than other countries in LA. Managua of course is the most dangerous city in Nica. Managua has a reputation of being one of the safest major Latin Amer cities. But, that doesn't say much, because it is being compared against crimefests like: Rio, Mex City, and other gangsta ghettos. Despite Managua's rep as being a "safer than other LA cities, " there is no way in hell I would walk MGA's streets at nite. Too dangerous.
MGA offers cheap pvssy in some halfway decent clubs (Good time, Fenix, etc) I never felt unsafe while inside any of these clubs. There is decent mongering to be had in MGA. Sure you can pay $15 a pop in Managua's brothels.
Despite, the above, I will probably never return to MGA.
Why? Because There is nothing else to do in MGA. It has no other redeeming value. There is no beauty, no landscape, no charm. Just cheap putas.
Joe Tourist will take a side trip from CR, and land in Managua and spend 1-2 days there tops, and then get back on a bus to nearby SJ, Costa Rica with its more pleasant surroundings.
Even Quito, Ecuador is more pleasant for non-sex tourism. MGA has nothing to offer besides cheap putas, and cheap putas can be found elsewhere in Nicaragua and elsewhere in the world. There is no decent tourism attractions, no charm in Managua. Why would any tourist want to visit MGA for sex tourism?
No expat would ever want to live in MGA fulltime, either. The best of Nica lies outside of MGA. Granada, SJDS, The volcanoes. As for Granada, I seriously doubt that Granada has overnight become a hotbed of crime against expats.
So, why are dogging Nicaragua. Man? You don't need to diss Managua. Managua will die on its own merits.

I write at US Library of Congress; US Legislative; Corporate America level(s) and within my 3-year prose I've educated you. It aint my fault if you can't comprehend the truth and reality of my socio / economic / criminal / romantic interpretation of Nicaragua!
This is not Cancun; Sandals; Panama City; Costa Rica; Medellin Mansion; or whatever "easy" p*ssy location you desire for less money! This is Nicaragua and we're poor and ghettoe with the cause of SURVIVAL! Did you know that the President only has a fourth (4th) grade education?
I've invited Gringos to visit / relocate to Nicaragua. I've detailed the cost of living and on a budget. I've detailed how to protect your person, p*ssy, and assets. I've detailed how to produce an income within Nicaragua. I've detailed how to "roll with the elite." I've detailed more than anyone else on the ISG forumn, yet you still want me to hold you hand-in-hand.
If it were not for "Meat Loaf in Nicaragua" you would not have / would not even consider Nicaragua.
Again, cut you teeth in the USA ghettoe before attempting to board a plane for Nicaragua. I live here day-in, day-out!
What more do you want from me? Am I working for you? Am I on payroll with per-diem, car allowance, housing, executive insurance, political power, etcetera? ¿Entonces (ie. well then)?

I invite you to explore Nicaragua just as I did with 0% network: All I had was game (ie. street, office, intelligence, and risk of life and limb.) I came to Nicaragua with a suitcase void clothes and desktop computer bought from Best Buy for US $400 with rebates in year 2007. I gave the clothes away in Tepito, Mexico City, Mexico, 'cause I knew I was gonna' come-up!

This is why we expats of Nicaragua SURVIVE 'cause we have 100% confidence in ourselves and do not look for handouts 'cause we know there is 0%. Expats of Nicaragua are seasoned expats of other countries: No expat in Nicaragua is a "rookie" and we've cut our teeth in other locales as residents, not tourists.
