Actually the same situation if you go to one of the clinics in Pattaya. The pill doc just prescribes a blanket antibiotic coverage (the shotgun approach) and most farang (westerners) take a couple of days of it. If 1 is good, then 2 or 3 must be better. The symptoms abate and they stop taking the med. That is how superbugs get immunity.

Although my Phills trip was for just under 6 weeks in total I spent only 5 days of it in Angeles city and barhopped only on one afternoon (perimeter) and one evening (fields).

First things first, where have all the westerners gone, very few to be seen in the hotels, bars, mall, would estimate that at least 8 out of 10 guys seen around town were Asian, mainly Korean and Japanese.

The hotel I was staying at has roughly 100 rooms, it seemed that only a very few were actually occupied, the pool was mostly empty and staff were saying they had never seen it so quiet.

Tried half a dozen of the main popular bars on perimeter, most walked in and walked straight back out, very few bored looking chubby girls doing the ac shuffle, not worth even 1 beer.

Better to stock up now. Most all drug stores require a prescription for it now. The only place recently I could buy it without a script was at Manson drugs.

Get 6 tabs of 500 MG. 2 tabs the first day and then one each for the next 4 days. I am not sure if 3 tabs will do the job. Just my opinion.

Without wishing to turn this into another safe sex thread (as happens on ISG periodically), I don't think you can assume that "province girls" are quarantined from diseases.

I should remind you that the Philippines has a very large population of seamen who can be assumed to have visited ports all over the world and are likely to return to their home provinces now and again and drop their seamen's semen here and there. The Philippines are never safe. The traffic is horrible. The greatest risk is always a traffic accident. It strikes many foreigners to death every year.

The new president has just taken office, so give him time. I have noticed that most in uniform are being very careful. At Manila airport discipline has been beefed up and new cameras installed.
