Say. Can anyone confirm that ausexreview.com is a worthwhile quality website? I generally don't like to parse out my email address for spamchuckers.

Re credit card surcharges, the government has limited what these can be, generally not more than 2 - 3%. Many smaller (sexual service) shops don't offer the facility at all and will only deal in cash. Otherwise, payment by card is widespread. Some places may have a 50 c surcharge is the payment is under $10.

I have never been to Cleopatras, but I believe it is on an industrial estate in the western suburbs so it would not be easy to get to by public transport. I had forgotten about the Penthouse, it is very quiet during the day but used to be quite lively in the evening (I have not been there for years). You meet the ladies in a large lounge, and I have a feeling they might ask you for payment before you get a chance to meet the girls? In years gone by they used to have one-off strip shows at the end of June and at Christmas, with a number of Penthouse pets performing, and of course lots of working girls available to take to a room. These used to be pretty good (although the strip shows were not as raunchy as you might expect considering the venue is a brothel), it may be worth asking them if they have any events coming up. As far as I know Mistys is an Asian girls parlour and I have not visited it.
BTW, most girls at are and t massage parlours will offer extras, generally CBJ and FS, for an upsell of $50 each. Personally I don't believe it is worth it, as your total cost would be more than a regular brothel. For a nude bodyslide massage with hand relief, though, they can be fun. A couple of places with caucasian girls that I can think of are AtMichelles, at 50 Kellet Street in Kings Cross, and Sirs, at Erskine Street in the CBD. There are also dozens of massage parlours with Asian girls, as you will have seen from the Syd99 website.

What are these brothels like? Can you just walk in and see the lineup? Do you have to pay a cover? Or do you just look, and leave if not interested?
Have you heard any word on Cleopatras, Penthouse, and Misty's?
Thanks again!

To give you a brief response to your questions.
1. At the risk of sounding racist, there are basically two types of brothel in Australia, those that have Asian girls (which are cheaper), and those which have caucasian girls. You are right, there is very rarely any discussion on the latter, but I would not say that is because they are not worth visiting. If its caucasian girls you are looking for, places like Tiffanys and Stilleto will usually have at least half a dozen to choose from, although the girls generally set their own service restrictions so you will need to ask them individually if you have any specific requests. Covered sex is the norm in "caucasian" parlors in Australia, so you will be unlikely to find BBBJ on offer, but some girls do allow DFK and DATY.
As I live nearby, the only parlors I have been to recently are Liaisons (a 5 minute walk from Edgecliff station, which is two stops from the city centre) and the Golden Apple in Potts Point (a 5 minute walk from Kings Cross station). I can recommend Liaisons, as a) there are normally at least half a dozen young, student / backpacker-type girls available, and b) I like DFK and DATY and those services are offered as standard at Liaisons. Its a professionally-run place, nice rooms, and you meet each girl individually before making your choice. Don't believe the "right now you can meet" section on the website, though, as it generally bears no relation to reality. If there is a particular girl you want to meet, it is better to make a booking by phone. The day shift girls tend to be polite, well-mannered and "professional"; at night, there are more "party" girls. If you are planning multiple visits, they have a loyalty discount scheme. (For what its worth, I can recommend Camilla, Kira and Mikah).
The Golden Apple has the same owner as Liaisons, but it seems a bit more run-down and there are often only a couple of girls available. With a couple of exceptions, the ladies here tend to be late-20's and heavier than the young girls at Liaisons (add 10 years and 20 lbs to the website descriptions! The receptionist is often spectacularly rude and disorganised too; and be aware that she sometimes tries to con you by insisting that you have to pay the booking fee before you even get a chance to meet the girls. I simply got up and started to walk out whenever she tried that with me, and she quickly backed down. At the Golden Apple, you normally meet the girls in an open lounge, although you can request private intros if you prefer. I have found it be be very quiet during the day, but sometimes very lively at night. One good thing about the Golden Apple is that they advertise a $100 discount coupon in the local Daily Telegraph newspaper, so it can be much better financially than Liaisons if you find a girl you like (I can recommend Ava, a Swedish brunette; she is the hottest girl there, and unfortunately she knows it so she has a bit of an attitude, but she is very good looking and provides a good standard service).
I haven't been to Tiffanys for many years, from what I can remember it was nothing special; and I would also suggest La Petite Aroma in Chatswood (about 20 minutes by train from the CBD), which used to have a good selection of girls (sorry, again I haven't been there for years).
If your budget is higher and BBBJ and CIM is a requirement, you could try "Late Night Babes" or "Sydney Elite Escorts". I haven't used either, so I am afraid I cannot vouch for their services. I wouldn't worry about registering for any mongering sites like Syd99 (which primarily covers only Asian parlours), you can generally find all the information you need from the main website.
2. Most parlors charge a 10% surcharge for using cards, so I always just pay by cash.
3. Kings Cross / Potts Point are great for both tourism and mongering, being just a 30 minute walk (or one stop on the train) from the CBD, opera house etc. As I mentioned above, it is convenient for Liaisons and Golden Apple, and there are also a few are and t places in Kellet Street, Kings Cross. The main strip along Darlinghurst Road in Kings Cross is pretty seedy (do not even think of going into the strip clubs, they are a complete ripoff), but otherwise Kings Cross and Potts Point are great for cafes and nightlife. O'Malleys Irish Bar on William Street has a topless waitress every Thursday evening if that appeals. Surry Hills is also a good suggestion, more of a student area with lots of cafes and bars, but not quite so convenient for the harbour and opera house. There are a large number of Asian parlours in Surry Hills, and Tiffanys is in Albion Street. Otherwise, you could stay in the CBD or Darling Harbour, and just catch trains to Surry Hills (get off at Central station), Kings Cross or Edgecliff.
Sydney is obviously not the cheapest place in the world for mongering, and services are restricted, but prostitution is legal so you need have no concerns; and Sydney is a beautiful city, so enjoy your visit.
Hope this helps.
Whinger.

Hi Guys,
Still having a hard time trying to get a lay of the land. A couple of questions. It is my first time Australia, so I apologize in advance if they seem naive or stupid. Please bear with me. I am an experienced traveller myself, and would be happy to answer questions in kind about where I have been.
1. I never see any discussion about the larger brothels like Tiffany's, Stilletto's, and such. Most of the reports here on ISG seem to center on smaller MPs, and a few smaller places (TMC). Why is that? Is there another source of information that I am missing? Aus99? Should I try and register for that?
2. There are some countries, like the Dom Rep or Thailand, where it is often beneficial to bring US / Euro currency and exchange it. In other more developed countries, like Germany or Japan, its better to just use your ATM card. Is Australia the former or the latter? Just want to know if there is any good reason to bring a stack of cash. BTW, that's how I usually like to do things. I try to minimize the use of ATM and credit cards in foreign countries.
3. Where is the best area to stay in Sydney that gives me easy access to the harbor area, but its close to the "nightlife. " Surrey Hills? Kings Cross? Critical to this evaluation is the presence of a good metro station. I like to minimize taxis.
Thanks in advance!

Hi guys!
About to visit Australia for the first time in a month, and very excited!
Just doing some research, and ran across Bubba Boys seemingly comprehensive guide on the Sydney Guide page. Only problem is, its quite old. About 13 years old.
Is it still mostly accurate with the bigger venues? Has anyone written an update or a different, more recent guide?
Thanks in advance!
