Never, ever go to La Meche at night. Never! There are occasional "chinero" robberies even in the daytime, stick to well populated streets. Stay out of the La Merced Metro. Use the Pino Suarez metro. There is one bar I can think of and I am sure you can pull from there, no strip clubs in the area, but the action is on the streets. At nights, for streetwalkers, go to Sullivan St. After 11pm.
