The Minister of Health in Colombia says no test required for now, which is the headline of the article. You are also not under quarantine in Colombia currently. I'm headed there next week.

Why and How I Went There.

The Colombian government's decision to drop its COVID-19 testing requirement in early November 2020 prompted me to start planning a return trip to Colombia. I had time off the week of Thanksgiving that I was unable to use to visit family in New York due to travel restrictions there, so I decided to go to Colombia that week instead. I expected that the upcoming Christmas shopping season would make the girls more receptive and flexible, particularly after they had been largely out of business for months.

Medellin was the obvious place to go, and not only because it is the most preeminent city for mongering in Colombia. I thought that Internet pipelining in particular would be the most fruitful form of mongering at a time when many in-person venues would be either closed, slow, or still recovering from the lockdown. Facebook is of course the biggest market niche for foreign mongers in Medellin anyway, rather than the in-person venues; I figured that the Medellin Facebook scene would be a better choice at this time than, say, Santa Fe in Bogota, or the clubs and the Clock Tower of Cartagena.

I planned the trip on relatively short notice, which has become the norm for me this year, since travel conditions can change so quickly. I wanted to enter Colombia before it changed its entry policies again. This decision turned out to be a wise move; after my arrival, a Colombian judge ruled that inbound travelers needed both a COVID-19 test and a quarantine, although the Colombian government later indicated that it would not implement this ruling for now. Given the short time frame, I chose my lodging conservatively and rented the same apartment from the same well-known, chica-friendly rental agency that provided my lodging for my last trip. Having moved from New York to Miami since my last trip, the flight options were more numerous, shorter in length, and lower in price. I chose JetBlue, which is my preferred airline and flies directly from Fort Lauderdale, for a points redemption flight.

Pipelining.

As I had done in the past, I began contacting Facebook girls privately about a week before my arrival in order to identify suitable candidates. I also posted a public announcement of my travel plans at that time and then a follow-up announcement of my actual arrival. These announcements had worked well for me in the past; it brought some girls out of the woodwork that I might have otherwise missed, and it made the girls that I had already contacted more responsive. This time I think that it may have worked too well, as I received a literally overwhelming response, to the point that the number of girls blowing up my phone became a distraction and a nuisance. They were clearly hungrier for business than in the past. I prioritized my best contacts by transitioning our conversations to WhatsApp and leaving Messenger for candidates that I was still screening, or that were less desirable.

I presume that the lack of business for several months must have been a major factor in this literally overwhelming response. My relocation to Miami may have been another factor. On previous visits, none of the girls seemed to take any interest in my location in New York, whereas several of them commented on my new location in Miami this time. I imagine that they view Miami-based mongers as more desirable clients because it is easier for them to visit more often and thus provide repeat business.

The girls' greater receptiveness enabled me to have citas with girls who had been on my radar for some time but were previously unavailable or unacceptable to me for various reasons. Some girls who had not responded to my messages in preparation for previous visits did respond to me in connection with this trip. There were other girls that I did not see on previous trips because the vibe that I had gotten from them before was lukewarm, but I saw them this time and was pleasantly surprised at how well we vibed together. Other girls had become more flexible on their terms, such as pricing and services, than in the past, so I decided to see them this time. For example, some insisted on CBJ when I spoke with them before, so I passed. Those same girls were now open to BBBJ, so I had citas with them this time. Some girls proactively expressed willingness to let me hit it raw, which I had not encountered on previous trips. Some girls wanted more money for this level of service, and some did not.

The downside of this greater hunger for money and the impact of the long lockdown is that it may have also fueled more scammy or otherwise suspicious or undesirable behavior. I suspect that some girls may have developed some bad habits while struggling to survive the lockdown by getting money online. For example, more than a few girls that I contacted wanted me to send them money in advance as a deposit in order to book a cita or to cover their transportation costs, which I viewed as a huge red flag. I presume that they never would have showed up if I had sent them money in advance. I tested those suspicions by offering to send them Ubers instead, which they of course refused.

I also found more than a few girls who quoted me prices in USD specifically, $100 USD. I was aware of Gusto girls quoting high USD prices before the lockdown, but I had never encountered this practice on Facebook, and the repeatedly quoted price of $100 USD is high by Facebook standards but still well below Gusto levels. Some of these high USD price quotes came from already known girls, including one who had previously quoted me a more typical price in COP just this past March. I am curious if the decline of the Colombian peso's value against the USD had anything to do with this new USD pricing.

I also received far more unsolicited offers of threesomes in preparation for and during this trip than ever before in fact, probably far more than for all my previous trips combined. I generally view unsolicited offers of threesomes from a girl that I have never met as a red flag, indicating either an intent for robbery or merely the half-assed performances that threesomes sometimes yield.

Some mongers have long feared that an influx of gringos would turn Colombia into Costa Rica, with girls quoting $100 USD prices, demanding money up front, and providing half-assed service. It would be ironic if it was actually the lockdown and the absence of gringos that fueled such behavior.

Performance.

As many mongers and I would have expected, a majority of the Facebook girls that I saw seemed more eager to please, were more affectionate and GFE, and demonstrated better attitudes on this first post-lockdown visit. Indeed, I would say that this trip yielded some of the most powerful GFE that I have encountered in Colombia thus far, and I met a few gems that I will see again in the future. Some of the girls spent so long with me that I had to hustle a few of them out the door to prepare for my next cita.

The most marked difference was their greater interest in using the jacuzzi in my apartment. On my last trip in March in the same apartment, only one girl wanted to or was even willing to use the jacuzzi, despite my frequent suggestions; the others did not want to get their hair wet or seemed to want to move on. On this trip, I used the jacuzzi during most of my citas and rarely had to suggest it to the girls; many of them proactively expressed interest in using it. Perhaps the lack of citas over several months made them more appreciative of such luxuries that citas can provide for them.

On the downside, it is possible that the lockdown and the associated hardships have worsened existing behavioral problems among some of the girls, specifically drug abuse, mental illness, and general flakiness. This trip was the first trip on which I had to expel girls from my apartment and abort citas due to behavioral problems, and I had to do it twice. Perhaps I was just lucky on my previous trips and the odds just caught up with me this time, but lockdowns and the related hardships around the world have caused or worsened drug abuse and mental health problems for many people. One girl (DM me for her Facebook name) spazzed and lost her shit when I told her that I did not have any drugs. This reaction came as quite an unpleasant surprise to me, as she had actually struck me as more stable and mature during our online interactions. Another one (DM me for her Facebook name) displayed some extremely erratic and bizarre behavior, which I would attribute to either drug use, mental illness, or some combination of both. This incident also came as a surprise, as she had seemed relatively normal when we spoke online. More generally, the level of overall paisa flakiness was higher on this trip than I experienced in the past. Only a handful of girls were actually on time, and their lateness was often more egregious. More girls than usual failed to keep our cita arrangements or just ghosted on me.

Strip Clubs and Street Meat.

After working through my list of high-priority Facebook girls for this trip, I felt that I needed a change of pace and an opportunity to get out of my apartment and check out the merchandise in person. One of my afternoon citas flaked on me, so I decided to go check out Centro for the first time in years. I had read on the forums that the Centro street scene had become unusually active after the lockdown due to slow business at the usual in-person venues. Centro was busier than I expected, and even busier than I remembered from before, both in terms of general activity and particularly in terms of the amount and the quality of street girls. As one might expect, the average quality of the talent was still low, certainly lower than Facebook and maybe even lower than the Centro casas, but still noticeably higher than what I had remembered from before. I realized that this experience left La Isla as the one strip club in Medellin that I had not tried yet. I had found the medium-priced and more popular Fase Dos to be somewhat underwhelming on previous trips and thus saw no reason to try the more expensive La Isla. I had been skeptical of reports of higher-quality talent at La Isla, as my tastes seem to differ considerably from those of other white gringo mongers. I decided to check out La Isla on this trip when a nighttime cita flaked on me, and now I regret not checking it out earlier. La Isla had some of the highest quality talent that I have seen in Colombia, rivaling the strip clubs in Cartagena and the higher-end clubs in northern Bogota. The taller, curvier, and even more heavily silicone-enhanced talent pool was also a much closer fit for my personal taste than the petite and natural flaquitas that seem to have such a huge market share in the gringo-oriented Facebook and Mansion circles. I always wondered where those model-quality, Instagram-quality women were available in Medellin; apparently quite a few of them are at La Isla.

I went for the first time on a Thursday night and had two sessions that night. This experience impressed me enough that I went back again the following Friday night, as I expected a larger talent pool. In retrospect, Thursday went better because the girls gave me more and better attention and I had no problem finding girls willing to do BBBJ. BBBJ became much harder to find on Friday night, despite the slightly larger talent pool, as most girls insisted on CBJ. I suspect that the larger number of customers on a Friday night encouraged the girls to be less flexible on this point, as I experienced this same problem on weekends in Bogota. I am curious about the reportedly high-quality talent pool there, and I would be interested in hearing someone challenge the common view that Loutron is overpriced and overrated.

The Future.

I enjoyed this trip. The timing was almost ideal, and I learned to refine my use of Facebook as the best market niche in Medellin. I found several girls worthy of repeats, more so than on previous trips. I also learned that the volume of activity and the number and range of options can be overwhelming, and that it can be difficult to assess girls correctly online before meeting them in person, for better or worse. I also reconsidered my previously low level of interest in Medellin's in-person venues. If nothing else, those in-person options are a useful backup for whenever a Facebook cita falls through, and I will make a point of returning to La Isla and possibly trying Loutron in the future.

There weeks mention on this site that liquor sales would be banned beginning yesterday. That hasn't happened. I don't hang out in bars much but as best I can tell they were open as of last night. I don't know if you have been here; it has very little in common with Sosua.

During my 12 days in Medellin in November this is what I saw and experienced:

Almost every place I went into, from a Raudal bar to La Isla, was requiring everyone to sanitize their hands and they were taking everyone's temperature. Many places were sanitizing shoes as well. Almost everyone one the street, unless they were eating or drinking, was wearing a mask. Some restaurants and Exito had a separate entrance point and exit point.

While bars, discos and restaurants were open, many places either haven't reopened, or have gone out of business. Most bars are closing at midnight. Once seated at a restaurant, or inside the bar, masks are not required. Some restaurants have reduced seating for social distancing. Many stores only allow a certain number of customers at one time. I saw long lines at many places, although I'm not sure what the people were waiting to get into.

San Peter Apartments, where I stayed, would not let anyone in or out without a mask. Ran into a few guys in the elevator who were sent back to get a mask. They also checked my temperature every time I returned.

Unless that has all changed in the last 8 days, she's not giving you accurate information.

I don't know why she would say that if she didn't believe it, Having me down there does not make that big of a difference in her life. Since Gusto is the current hot topic, maybe some more background will be useful. I'm using 4 sources for this. The first is a long-time resident of Parque Lleras who probably was in a position to have inside information. Next source, my own experience in Gusto. Third source are the reports from guys who have frequented Gusto. The final source is speculation based on the other sources.

I was told the owner of Gusto originally paid the working girls to hang out there. I don't know how much, or if he still subsidizes them, but his plan worked. There's nothing special about Gusto. No special decor, no dancefloor and the DJ is just average. They probably have the highest prices of any night club in Medellin. Yet, they draw more gringos than any other club. All because you can always find girls who will party with you and then go to bed with you.

Nothing I've seen at Gusto makes me think you'll find the holy grail there. You can find girls who look just as good anywhere in the city. A $20 dress and $5 worth of make-up will turn almost any girl into a Gusto queen.

As others have reported, girls at Gusto want top dollar. What you may not understand is their high price benefits Gusto.

The customers Gusto wants to attract are the weekend millionaires. They don't make any money from the guys sipping on the same Coke for 3 hours searching for a girl who'll fuck for 100 k. If the girls were all accepting 100 k, the place would be packed with guys spending no money trying to talk the girls down to 80 k. The guys spending $1000 a night wouldn't be able to get through the door.

Gusto girls charge a high price because that benefits Gusto. If you don't want to pay that price, catch her outside of Gusto where your low-ball rate doesn't threaten the profit margin.

The prices at Gusto didn't jump up because 2 guys showed up and started throwing money around. The prices are high because Gusto is only interested in the customers who come in and start throwing money around.

Gusto isn't for everyone. If you're interested in dancing, it's probably the worst place to go. However, if you're happy spending $200-$400 plus another $150-$200 for a girl, it can be a fun place to party.

I'm well aware you can spend $10 in Gusto and collect phone numbers, but all you're doing is paying $10 for something you can get right out front of Gusto.
