Because of my side trip to the islands and being sick for a few days, I miss a few clubs and the 18th street scene.

Between GYE and Quito, I thought both places were pretty damn boring. However, with the low altitude, GYE was more of a pleasant boring. And if you get too bored, just hop over to the islands. The malecon was OK, but the one in Havana was excellent. River verses ocean. Kids / families verses hot Cubanas. You get the picture.

Either way, it was a good experience and I'm glad I made the trip.
OK. Thanks for the information. Sorry you got sick.

Great Report on the bar scene in GYE. Much over do. I am surprised Dooms never did a list after all these years posting teasers for GYE.

    My romp in Guayaquil!

Why Guayaquil? I've never been and I also wanted to take a side trip to the Galapagos Islands.

First and foremost, I want to thank World Travel 69 for his excellent map. There was very little information that I found, but World Travel 69's map was golden! I always try to update his maps whenever I visit the countries. This trip, I did my best, but did not get a chance to visit each bar / club because I was sick for a few days.

    Logistics:

    Flight:
You can get coach flights out of San Diego for around $1,210 and change. OK, on soapbox time: So, we are flying at normal altitude and all the window shades are closed. Most people are napping or sleeping and things are going well.

Then, the plane hits a little turbulence and for whatever fucking reason, there are always 3 to 4 damn idiots that open their window shade to look outside for what caused the turbulence. WTF? Do they really think we hit a flock of geese at 33,000 fucking feet in the air? If you are one of these clowns; enough! OK, off soapbox.

    Logging:
I rented a nice two bedroom apartment on Airbnb for $85 per night. The place had a great view and my host was superb.

    Weather:
The weather was in the 80's during the day, but there was an overcast almost every day, so it did not seem so hot.

    Trip / Medical Insurance:
I paid $88.45 for the entire 14 days from the company World Nomads.

    Money:
The currency is in US dollars. You rarely see any one dollar bills, but instead, they have one-dollar gold looking coins. Also, they like to give you change with two-dollar bills and silver dollar coins.

    Getting around town:
From the airport and back was around 5 to 7 dollars.

I rarely used taxis during my stay. When I was in a hurry, I used a few taxis; they were dirt cheap. Even cheaper, I used Uber most of the time. But, the Ubers I used, only took cash.

    Language:
Very few chicas, taxi drivers, and restaurant workers knew how to speak anything but Spanish. I struggled a bit, but that was part of the fun of exploring a different country.

    Communication:
I have the T-Mobile North American plan. My plan gave me unlimited data at 2 G speed, calls at 20 cents per minute and free texts. Thus, I started using WhatsApp on my regular phone. I started chatting with my apartment host before I left. As long as I had a WiFi signal, WhatsApp was free of charge. I was chatting on WhatsApp, Facebook, and Skype; including video calls for no charge whatsoever.

Where and what I ate in Gualaquil. First off, if you are seeking great chow, Ecuador should not be your first stop! I really did not have a lot of time to eat at restaurants; too busy running the streets naked. But there were a few places with good to very good food:

Hotel Oro Verde (2) - Both dishes were very good!
    Resaca. The food sucked!
    La Preferida. Tradition food. Good.
Trattoria de Pippo. Good pasta dish.
Lo Nuestro. Tradition food. Very good.
La Canoa (2) - Tradition food. Very good.
Street food in front of Club El Puente. Very good.

Beware, many of the restaurants add a 10% service fee (tipping fee) into the check balance. Thus, you can adjust accordingly.

    The Venues:
First off, I'm not a big casa / spa type person. But I was determined to hit every club on the map.

I was also determined to gather as much information as possible. In each bar / club / venue, I asked several questions and did my best to write the answers on my trusty note pad. As each night went on, the more I drank. Thus, if I am wrong with any of my notes, feel free to correct me. The fichas were various prices, I am quoting the lowest ficha price.

I don't drink beer or whisky, so in many of the places, I was shit out of luck. Some places offered shots of rum and tequila, which I could live with. Otherwise, I just had a tasty bottle of water; sad, huh? I will mention my favorite places at the end of my club listings.

First, let's talk about the bars around Parque Centenario:

    Club Boricua.
    La Bambina.
    Cabo Rojena.
    La Penita.
    Planta Baja.

I went into everyone of them and this is my take: Everyone of them are hostess bars. Which means, you buy drinks, dance, and enjoy the company of chunky ass women; and that's it! I asked in each bar if there was a "take out" option and they all had a good laugh at my expense; so be it.

The only active sex club near Parque Centenario is Salome:

    Club: Salome.
    Cover: 10, included 2 beers.
    My drink: Never ordered one.
    Ficha: ?
Sex: Yes, 15 for 30 minutes in house. Take out was available.
    On site: Yes.
Number of chicas: Could not tell, too many dudes!
Quality of chicas: Average to good.
Night / Time: Saturday night at 9:30.
Comments: Local hang out and the place was packed with dudes. I do not drink beer, so the bouncer waved me through.

    Other Clubs:
    Club: Odisea Romana.
    Cover: 10, includes 2 drinks.
    My drink: 5.
    Ficha: 5.
Sex: Yes, 70 for 20 minutes. VIP, 30 for 30, no sex.
    On site: Yes.
Number of chicas: Saw 6, but it was early. Was told 20+.
Quality of chicas: Good to very good.
Night / Time: 8 pm on Friday.
Comments: This was a nice big club, but I got there too early to enjoy the place to its full extent.

    Club: Junior.
Cover: 20 with an open bar!
My drink: My vodka was included!
    Ficha: 6.
    Sex: 80 for 30 minutes.
    On site: Yes.
Number of chicas: Told 20 to 30, I saw around 10.
Quality of chicas: Good to hot.
Night / Time: 9:30 pm on Friday.
Comments: Great club, but as a trend, too many dudes in the place. I was the only one buying drinks, so I always had two to three women hanging around. Yes, I was being selfish!

    Club: La Isla del Tesoro.
    Cover: 10, includes 1 drink.
    My drink: 5.
    Ficha: 5.
Sex: Yes, 80 for an hour. Was told no real time limit.
    On site: Yes.
    Number of chicas: 8-10.
Quality of chicas: Good to very good.
Night / Time: 11 pm on Friday.
Comments: I really liked this club. Very laid back and not full of fucking dudes! The girls would sit with you without asking for a drink.
The kicker: Outside the club, there were many street girls to be had. I pulled three from that area, for 2 hours, one wanted 60 and the other two wanted 70.

I went back there Saturday at 12:30. Again, a butt-load of street girls outside the place. And the usual suspects in the club. I watched some asshole break a golden monger rule. Some dude was drinking with a girl in a booth and this asshole walked over and wanted her to dance with him; WTF?

    Club: El Gato (Ave 40).
Cover: 5, included a little beer.
    My drink: 7.
    Ficha: 5.
    Sex: Yes, but off site.
    On site: No.
    Number of chicas: 30-35.
Quality of chicas: Good to damn good.
    Night / Time: 10:30 Saturday.
Comments: Very nice club with a bunch of women. It was 30 to exit, plus whatever the girl wanted. The few I asked said 60 -80 for an hour.

    Club: Imperio 1.
I arrived there around 8:45 Friday evening and was told that they closed at 8:00. So off I went to Imperio 2.

    Club: Imperio 2.
Cover: 2. 50, included one beer.
    My drink: 5.
    Ficha: 5.
Sex: Yes, 50 for an hour.
    On site: Yes.
    Number of chicas: 20+.
Quality of chicas: Good to very good.
Night / Time: 9 pm Friday.
Comments: The club is a bit out of the way, but well worth the trip. Nice club, dancers, and staff.

Club: El Gato (Across the street from Imperio 1/2.
    Cover: 2, one beer included.
    My drink: Never ordered one.
    Ficha: 5.
    Sex: Yes, 20 for 20 or 60 for 60.
    On site: Yes.
    Number of chicas: 20+.
Quality of chicas: Good to very good.
    Night / Time: 10:15 Friday.
Comments: Behind the club, there are like big plastic houses used for sex on site. My driver thought the whole situation was dangerous, but I felt quite at home; go figure.

    Club: Vikingos.
    Cover: None.
    My drink: 5.
    Ficha: 5.
Sex: Take out, 20 for the bar, and three girls quoted me 70-80 for 2 hours.
    On site: No.
    Number of chicas: 8-10.
Quality of chicas: Good to very good.
    Night / Time: 11:30 Friday.
Comments: What a great little club!

I had the information on El Paraiso Club, but somehow I lost that page in my trusted notebook. So if someone could chime in with the information; it would be helpful.

There are 3 clubs off of Highway E40:

    Royal 07.
    El Puente.
    Obseccion.

I don't see any reason for a monger to visit theses clubs or the surrounding area.

Obseccion: Tried to enter Obseccion at 11:30 on Friday night. They would not accept my color photo copy of my passport. When I returned to check out Royal 07 the following weekend on Saturday at 10:30; I got the same response. Fuck that place!

El Puente: Went to El Puente Friday night at 11:30. Two dollar cover, included one beer. Nice club, but packed with men and I only saw a handful of women. There were 17 doors behind the dance floor. But, I could not get any information about what was behind each door or pricing and other important information; sorry.

Royal 07: Went to Royal 07 Saturday night at 10:30. Two dollar cover, included one beer. Nice club, but once again, packed with men and I only saw a handful of women. And once again, I could not get any information about pricing and other important information; sorry.

So, IMHO, skip these damn clubs. They are packed with men and it's not worth your time and effort to drive out to this area!

If I had any "Must See" clubs, these would be my suggestions in no particular order:

    La Isla del Tesoro.
    Junior.
    Imperio 2.
El Gato (Across from Imperio 2).
    El Gato (Ave 40).

    Street girls:
Besides of all the cuties outside of La Isla del Tesoro, I did not see a lot of street action. It was reported there were some on Av. 9 de Octobre and Parque Centenario. I past though that area several times, and always saw the same two girls.

One night I was leaving Hotel Oro Verde walking down Av. 3 SO? There was a butt-load of street girls in that area. I made a left on Jose Velez headed towards Salome; more street girls to be had. Two of them offered 15 for 30 minutes. But one of them I thought her voice was a tad deep and I didn't want to wake up without one of my major organs, thus, I passed.

    Cupid:
Had one date, but I got sick and thereafter, I was too busy running the streets.

    Tinder:
One night, I just started swiping right for any chica between 20 to 25. I was contacted by a girl in her early twenties and we switched over to WhatsApp. She said she was looking for a sugar daddy. A asked her about 2 hours, she replied 50. I stopped texting for a couple of minutes, and she came back at me for 40. It was game on! I meet her in a neutral site, and then we returned to the apartment. What a great last night in town!

    Overall thoughts on Guayaquil:

I had a great time! I enjoyed what this city had to offer, especially the chicas. The city was fun to explore and the people were very friendly. I also like the fact that I HAD to speak Spanish to communicate with the chicas. I had a great time exploring and documenting stuff for our community.

Would I ever return to Guayaquil? Nah! Way too many dudes in those clubs.

As always, just my dos pinche pesos of course!

BTW, In case any of you decide to take a side trip to Las Galapagos like I did, here is a rundown of the pricing. Going to Isla Baltra from Guayaquil round trip on Tame airlines was $382.

In the airport, you have to purchase a $20 tourist card.

Then, at immigration, you have to pay a $100 visa / park fee.

If you are going to Puerto Ayora, the bus fee is $10. The bus drops you off at a ferry. The ferry fee is $1.

Then, you need a taxi to get to Puerto Ayora. And that can be from $20 to $40.

My hotel, which was really nice, was $200 each night.

Tours ranged in prices, but none were cheap.

So just a heads-up, if you go, it will be pricey.

Gawd spot on about the ugly factor in Ecuador. The ONLY cuties that I encountered during my 2 week travel through Ecuador a few months back were either Colombians or Venezuelans, it was so bad that I focused my visit to sightseeing only and waited until returned to Colombia to party with the chicas, and party I did.

It was around 15 minutes at night from Malecon area to the club. Around the club, there were street walkers, and I saw one that was smoking hot. I went into the club, and there was a stage or floor to dance on. The setup was typical, kind of low end type club. It closed early, I think around midnight. Many dancers stay in hotel next door. I know OTC is available, and I would be surprised if much of it didn't go on in said hotel.

In general, I have found Ecuadorans to be prettier than Peruvians, but I really wasn't seeing much I liked then I happened upon a 20 year old Colombian. Yowzuh! Club setup is such that you go upstairs and get a room. I think it's like $25 for the room and the fee for the girl is $40 or so. Everything was covered with her though so I passed. It would have been interesting to see how much the street walker was because outside of the Colombian, she was the best I saw.

Thank you. At this point, since you are so well informed, would you mind to provide a short list of places, say low-end bars, mid range clubs as El Gato, with addresses, opening times and price range? Things change often there, and an update of old listings would be so much appreciated.

WT69 would be able to update the List and the Map.
