    Hey Desi,

You know, I didn't really try any of the restaurants on the Matamoros side of the border. I wasn't sure my gringo constitution was ready for the cuisine prepared South of the border, if you know what I mean. Does anybody know of a good place to eat in Matamoros where a gringos stomach won't be adversely effected?

I did do some shopping, but I didn't really buy much. I kind of got side tracked by that little 18 year old pro on 10th street. Never again!!! Too risky!!!

I will probably do some more shopping on my next trip. I'll let you know if I come across any good bargains.

Also, would like to hear about your shopping and dining. where did you go? Did you visit any bars other than strip clubs?

Those were great reports and thanks. I had stayed at Motel 8 and went down to club paradise. i did not go to other clubs and I paid $12 for dances, $60 for a BJ and no tips for dances. I tipped the girl who gave me bj $20 and she was extremley surprised. So I guess they either get no tips or just $5.

I hope to go ther again soon.

    Hi Guys,

I want to stay on the mexico side next time, but I want to stay within walking distance of the border. Can anybody give a little comparitive review of hotels on the mexico side that are within walking distance of the border:

I need to know the following on each:

    1. Quality of accomodations.
    2. Cost.
    3. Exact directions walking from the bridge.
    4. Girl friendly.
    5. Distance from the border.
    6. Safety/Security

I'm looking for something similiar to at least a Motel 6 in price and quality of accomodations. You know, something clean, relatively comfortable beds, decent bathrooms, etc.

Also, are there any good bars within walking distance of the border? Are they gringo friendly, working girls, etc...?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Mr. Booby,

Beware, this is a very long post.

Hey, I didn’t know there were actually three bridges. Actually, my first attempt at crossing the border was at one of the vehicle only bridges. I was lucky because when I told the attendant that I wanted to walk across instead of drive, he actually backed traffic up for me, and allowed me to back out of traffic so I could turn around. I was surprised at his kindness, and his willingness to help me out. He even gave me great directions to the correct bridge. I’m glad I didn’t know there was a third bridge or I may have really gotten lost.

The first night I visited Matamoros I was completely new to the Mexico club experience, and I wasn’t sure where to spend my time. So, based on the board’s recommendations, I went to Paradise first, where I was rapidly approached by one of the waiters to purchase a private dance with a Chica. She had come over and was seductively sitting on my lap. I told the waiter Mas Tarde a couple of times, but he kept pushing me, and I finally broke down.

Since this was my first time, and because I had heard so much about these private dances on the forum, I just couldn’t resist finding out about them first hand. So, away we went. She was tall, had a slinky sexy red dress, and she spoke very little English. She had medium length, dark brown hair, a nice shapely body, a classy face, and few tattoos, which I am not particularly fond of, but hey, she was still hot. I remember one of her tattoos was a round shaped Spirograph looking design on her lower back. I think she may have had a couple other tattoos too. I don’t remember exactly where they were, but maybe one on her arm and one on her ankle. Sorry, I don’t remember her name. I think she was kind of frustrated that I didn’t request a second dance so we could go a little further because after she was done, she said something like, “Let me know if I can do anything else for you, Senor,” But hey, the night was young, and I wanted to take my time, and check things out a little more.

Also, was I supposed to tip her after the $15 dance? If so, the shock of the experience made me temporarily comatose, and I forgot my manners. Her dance was superb, and if tipping is expected, she deserved to be tipped and she probably thinks I’m a real El Cheapo Gringo. Please advise about the tipping protocol when it comes to the $15 dances.

I stayed at Paradise for a while and watched the Chicas dance on stage. Then, I decided to check out the other clubs. So, I approached the guys outside Cabacha, next door to Paradise, and they wanted a $4 cover. I couldn't remember whether I had read anything on the forum about Cabacha, so I decided not to go there just yet. I wanted to see what Club Imperio was like first. So, I walked down about a block or so from Paradise.

I think the cover charge at Imperio was three dollars (or maybe five bucks, I can't remember). Anyway I paid the cover charge, went in and received a complimentary shot of tequila with limes. I had arrived just as the Chicas were all going up on stage at the same time. The Chicas danced, and I noticed a young sexy dark haired Chica wearing a "school girl" outfit. So, I requested a private dance, which I think was about $8 or $12. Sorry, I don't remember the specific costs.

Well, to make a long story short, I got a private dance with the “school girl” Chica, and when we got to the back booth, I asked how much for a b/j. It was $40. It sounded like it was too much to me. But, I decided to give it a try. She gave a good covered bj. Do you think I paid too much? Let me know what you think.
It was a good bj, but nothing really special.

I went back to my seat to watch the floor show, and was approached by a very sexy, short, dark haired Chica. She was wearing fishnet stockings, and she had a thin hard body. Well, she faced me, straddled my legs and started to pay me a lot of attention. So, I asked how much to take her out of the club to a motel. They said it would be $35 for the club, and $80 for the Chica. . She agreed in advance to BBBJ, and BB oral on her, and covered f***. I bargained them down to $65 for the Chica and $35 for the club, and away we went for a one hour session. We caught a cab to a nearby drive in motel . Our session was very good, but not a g/f experience.

Next I left Imperio and went to Cabacha, where I got a nice private dance from an 18 year old Chica. She was the next door type with a nice body, and it was also very enjoyable, but no fireworks. I can’t remember the cost of dances at Cabacha, but it seems like it was also between $8 and $12 dollars.

Let me qualify something. When I say “nothing special” I mean nothing special by Mexico standards. The least “special” dance I experienced was like fireworks compared to anything in the US. It would be very hard to have a bad experience at any of these clubs.

The best experience I had was actually several nights later at Imperio. I arrived first at Paradise to scope things out. I Had a Chica on my lap at Paradise for a while, but decided not to waste a lot of money on drinks for Chicas. So, I bought the Chica one drink, and didn’t buy any more. She eventually left my lap, but she was very nice, and she probably would have been a lot of fun. I just wanted to control the evening’s events, and I wanted to take my time in the selection of Chicas. So, after having had a little more experience from the previous nights, I decided that I was going to control the flow of drinks for Chicas more discriminatingly based on my timetable, and my preferences. I would imagine that all of you regular mongers at the clubs of Matamoros have also developed this same kind of selective approach. I watched a few of the superb Chicas on stage for about a half hour, then I decided to head back over to Imperio, and I’m so glad I did.

Immediately, as I was being seated at Imperio, a young Chica with dark hair, ran over to me and sat on my lap. She was very energetic and attentive, but then she said something in Spanish, left quickly and went back over to sit in a chair along the far wall where there were a number of other Chicas also seated. I couldn’t firgure out why she left. Are the Chicas supposed to leave patrons alone until called upon by the patron? Tell me what you think.

Well, she kept waiving at me and throwing kisses all the time. Well, I decided she deserved some attention, so I told the waiter to send her over. She came over and sat on my lap, and she was extremely attentive. Rubbing my shoulders & chest, and my crotch, and acting really horny. So, I asked the waiter how much for a private dance. I think it was $12. When we got in the back, this girl was like a Tiger. She was like your most passionate girlfriend experience, and she acted like she just could not get enough. Finally, I said how much for f/s. I was told it would be $100. I thought it sounded high, but this girl had me really going. I believed she would definitely be worth the $100. I new I would not be disappointed. It was worth every penny and then some.

First we sat on the couch in the room. She was totally nude and acting all horny. She was doing a lot of french kissing, and acting really hot. While we were on the couch, she gave me a great BBBJ, then after I was covered she sat facing me on the couch by straddling me in front and she started to ride me like I was her last f***. She pushed me very deep, and she acted like she was so, so horny. I couldn’t believe it!!! I popped really soon because she was so into it I also got into it quickly too. Well, we still had some time left, so she gave me a really good massage, and we lay on the bed together kissing for a while. It was better than your best girl friend experience. I don’t remember her name, but I’ll never forget her. She was a real TIGER!!!

So far, I have visited Nuevo Laredo, and the clubs of Matamoros. So far, I like the clubs of Matamoros the best because it is a more seductive atmosphere. The only down side is cost. It seems more expensive to visit the clubs of Matamoros, but I believe there is a better chance for a g/f experience. But, maybe I’ve just been spoiled by my Tiger at Imperio. Later…

    UnospongeBob,

Looking forward to the 3rd installment of your adventures in our neighboring town of Matamoros. You left us hanging after the first bit about your Imperio "tigre".

At the risk of nitpicking, Brownsville's got three bridges going into Matamoros, not two. Indeed, Gateway International and the B&M bridge carry both vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The newest one, Los Tomates International, is for vehicular traffic only (semi's also use this one nearly exclusively). Regardless, you crossed the correct one for your needs and convenience.

As for all you other Paradise regulars, where did Victor (the chief "facilitator") go? I introduced myself to him there last fall, but now that I've returned a couple of times it appears he's left and been replaced by a whole slew of waiters/ticket vendors, none of whom seem to be "in charge" (for lack of a better word).

This is a continuation of my report concerning my first trip to Matamoros, and I will apologize now for the post being so lengthy. After having visited the clubs (Paradise, Cobacha, and Imperio) the night before. I was curious about the SW action on 10th Street. I crossed the border about 3:00pm, and approached the cab stand next to the little park that you come to after you cross over the bridge. I asked the cab driver if he knew where I could obtain a street map of Matamoros. He entered the little cab shack there, and he retrieved a Street map, which he was kind enough to give to me.

I also wanted to do some shopping for gift items, and I learned that the market is very close to the area of 10th Street that is frequented by SW’s. I was thinking that perhaps I could walk to the shopping area, then do a little recon of 10th Street. However, the cab driver indicated that the shopping area was at least 21 blocks from the area of the cab stand near the bridge, and I didn’t really want to hike that far. So, the cab driver offered to take me to the shopping district for the going rate, which is $5. I got in his cab and away we went, West bound on Alvaro Obregon Street. From Alvaro Obregon Street the cab turned Right onto Calle Matamoros, which lead to the 9th Street market area, known as the Mercado Juarez (Garcias New Market).

The cab driver dropped me off at the corner of Calle 9 and Calle Matamoros, and I proceeded to walk around the market area for a while. Then, I decided to look for some SW action off of 10th Street one block over. I walked South on 10th Street all the way to the end where 10th Street intersects Valle Hermoso Street. This was a rather long hike, and I saw no signs of SW action. So, I decided to walk back and cover the North side of 10th Street, so I back tracked and ended up walking North on 10th Street from the approximate area where the cab had originally dropped me off.

I found what I was looking for not too far North of Calle Matamoros on 10th Street. There was a number of SW’s just standing in front of some doorways along the road, but most were pretty rough. I did notice a really cute, 19 year old SW who was standing in a doorway about halfway down from Calle Matamoros on North 10th Street. So, I approached her and inquired her price. She wanted $35 for f***. I bargained her down to what I thought was $25. But, I should have questioned her further, and gotten everything straight with here up front. But, this was my first experience with SW’s in Mexico, and it through me off a little.

She indicated that she had a hotel near by and asked me to follow her there on foot. It was a short walk North on 10th Street. I think she then asked me for $12 to pay for the room. Ok, so I paid the $12, and we went to the room, which wasn’t elaborate, but it was surprisingly nice and clean, but simple. It had no TV, no telephone, etc…but the bed seemed comfortable and the room was in pretty nice shape. The room even had antique furnishings that looked rather nice. Anyway, we locked the door, and she asked for the money. I gave her $25 and she indicated that “no, it’s $35.” She spoke very little English, but I thought for sure I had heard her say $25 out on the street. I thought maybe I had just misunderstood her. Anyway, I realized that I had already made an investment in the hotel, so I figured I better go ahead and reap some of the dividends of this little investment. So like a fool, I gave her another $10 when I probably should have cut my losses and left.

She stashed the money, got me ready, laid back on the bed, and pulled up her dress. At this point I was hoping this hot little 19 year old would at least take off her clothes, but she indicated that “sin la ropa was $60.” I was really miffed at this point, and told her to forget it. I know what you guys are thinking. I do know better, but I was off my game that day. Live and Learn!!!

I intended to go ahead with her clothes on, but I was so flustered at the way things were going that it took a while for me to become ready again. Especially with her clothes on. Well, I was just getting started when she all of a sudden says, “I’m very sorry, but time is up.” I couldn’t believe it!!! Under other circumstances I would have probably argued with her, and thrown a fit, but since it was my first experience in Mexico, I didn’t want to end up in a Mexican jail, or worse, so I allowed her to leave without incident.

There is another reason that I decided to end this little experience when I did. When I was looking into her eyes, I noticed that they were severely blood shot. I immediately thought, “this girl is probably a crack w****. Just the thought of that possibility made me doubt the wisdom of going further, and I’m sure my apprehension had an effect on my readiness, if you know what I mean.

My recommendation is to never venture over to the drug invested criminally oriented 10th Street venue. It just isn’t worth it guys. Don’t waste your time, your money, or your health. Not when you can experience the virtues of Paradise, Cobacha, Imperio, and probably a number of other legitimate clubs that offer a much better value. I will never again venture over on 10th Street. Based on my experiences with the clubs, there is no comparison to the poor value of 10th Street and exceptional value of the club environment.

I provided such a detailed account of my experiences in this lengthy post so those of you who want to experience 10th Street can do so. You can easily find the 10th Street experience from the directions I've provided. But, my advice is to stay away from the 10th Street scam artists. I’ll follow-up later with my report on the exceptional experiences I had with the clubs when I have a little more time. Good Hunting Everybody and Stay Safe…

I’ve just completed my first experience traveling to a few of the clubs in Matamoros. I visited Paradise Men’s Club, Cobacha, and Imperio. First, I would like to thank all of the contributors to the forum. Your contributions are very accurate, and the knowledge I gained from your contributions allowed me to stay safe and enjoy my first excursion into Matamoros. Your opinions about these clubs seem to be almost 100% accurate. As a novice, I have several observations that I think may be important for guys visiting for the first time. Some of this may be covered in previous posts, if so, sorry for the repetitiveness, but it’s still important information to know.

Since this was my first visit to the clubs in Matamoros, I decided to stay in a motel in Brownsville. The motel was along Highway 77 in Brownsville, and it was only a couple of miles from the Bridge. I chose to rent a car so I would have transportation during the day, and I drove down to the bridge at night around 10:00pm to walk across where I could catch a cab to Paradise.

To get to the bridge from my hotel, I proceeded South on Highway 77, then West on Highway 4 to the last street before the entrance to the Gateway International Bridge. When you see the entrance to the bridge, then get in the left turn lane and turn South onto the street that is immediately West of the University campus building on your left. There are a number of parking meters along the street, but at night you don’t have to feed the parking meters. The parking meters on the street are actually immediately next to a secured Border Patrol Facility, and it seems that a vehicle parked in this area would be relatively safe.

Keep in mind, there are two bridges in Brownsville. I used the Gateway International Bridge, which is at the end of Highway 4 (West), because it’s for both vehicular and pedestrian use. The other bridge is for vehicular traffic only, and I wanted to walk across and catch a cab.

There are several Casa de Cambio shops that are within walking distance of the bridge on the US side. I recommend you go down during the day to change everything over to pesos prior to walking across the bridge. More of the money shops are open during the day, and it just appears to be safer to be handling sums of money during day hours. My recommendation is to get a lot of five peso coins (.50 cents US), ten peso coins ($1 US), twenty peso bills ($2 US), and Fifty Peso bills ($5 US). I used these to tip the waiters and pay for drinks. By having a lot of pesos in these small denominations, your waiter is much less likely to try to short change you. I also advocate getting higher denomination peso bills to pay for private dances, and other activities with the Chicas. Obviously, with the exchange rate, you pay less if you pay in pesos.

My next recommendation is to avoid buying the Chicas a lot of drinks. One or two drinks is sufficient to determine whether a Chica is someone you may want to spend time with. In my opinion, the goal is to get to the private dance so you can see if the Chica is a Cold Fish or a Tiger. Buying her drinks just delays your assessment, and it will rapidly deplete your resources if you’re not careful.

Guys Paradise was great and it was everything the forum said it would be. I liked Cobacha too, but I thought the selection was less than Paradise, which I expected based on forum reports. However, the surprise of the evening was the absolute "Tiger" I found at Imperio! Details to follow when I have more tiempo...

Thanks Desi.....yea I planned on walking over the border. Trying to figure out all of the logistics for my trip....maybe I'll hit up that same hotel in Brownsville for a night. How did it look as for places to stay on the Mexican side???

  12. #134
I stayed at at the Super 8 Motel in Brownsville - walking distance to the bridge.

South Padre Island, late at night is long hike (30 to 45 minutes but thru no mans land)

I took the taxi to club paradise from the mexico side of bridge, because, if you search this forum, you find that if you drive there, you invariably get stooped by the police on mexicvan side and then you got to pay them.

Hello all....thanks for all of the info. A couple of questions, not being familiar at all with Texas. Staying in South Padre Island for a long weekend in April. Was hoping to do the beach thing during the day & head to Mexico for early evening or nightime entertainment. Is that do-able from the Island, or would you reccomend staying somewhere right across the border? I will not drink too heavily while in Mex, because A) I assume I will have to drive back B) I will be on my own. Is safety an issue here???
Tijuana was a bit sketchy, but I'm hoping Matamoros will not be as bad.

Also, how early do things get going...is late afternoon common for pickups? And how late to they go in Mex. Is it still happening real late or does it turn into a ghost town. Any quick tips will help as I try to plan out my venture.

  14. #132
Well after reading all the posts here for Matamoros I definately have to make a trip. Gonna be one hell of a long drive unless I save for a plane ticket. Someday soon though....thanks for all the invalueable insight.
