And I have only barely touched on your apparent total lack of understanding the difference between a speculator, trader or gambler and a long term investor.
Please open your notebook to page 2:
A long term investor is not looking to move holdings in, out, in, out, etc of the market on the prospect of a potential Correction on the horizon.
But, as Buffet's famous bet proved conclusively, a long term investor who buys into a broadly based Index fund tracking, say, the S&P 500, rain or shine, high or low, through thick or thin, will kick the ass of virtually every professionally managed portfolio of stocks after doing what you described over a 10 year period.
Long term investors are not keeping score and calling it a game, set, match after 5 months.

If someone is long and says "I missed the market top" that to me means they should have sold at the higher price.
So according to your rule, if a stock goes higher, it HAS to keep hitting higher and higher highs which sounds like you are doing technical analysis, and you do not have a clue what real due diligence and fundamental analysis is.

And while the S&P is down around 15% for the year, I am up 22% in 2 weeks. Now why is that? Aren't individuals not supposed to be able to beat the market?
Yeah, it must be dumb luck. It could not have anything to do with betting on the Fed wrecking the economy by unwinding the balance sheet and raising interest rates, and Biden is off blabbing about Ukraine instead of taking care of things back home.
And Ukraine / Russia produces 15% of the world's wheat and 40% of the world's fertilizer. Let me know how this stupid fucking war is not going to be inflationary.
You dumb Dems used the virus to bring Trump down and ruin the economy and guess what? Now the bill is coming due.

2. As soon as that happen, Putin (for some reason) will not push ahead in order to destroy Ukraine with maniacal and homicidal determination he's exhibited so far, but will somehow try to "compromise and settle. ".
Is that the gist of your suggestion?
Considering the complete and utter absurdity of this proposal, may I ask (again!) what goddamn hold does a two-bit thug and murderer Putin hold over you and your rightwing comrades?

And - what a funny thing - the West never had the leverage of crippling economic sanctions held over those two nations.
Over Russia, it does.
Will take a while and there will be a lot of resistance, but it can be done. National pride is all nice and dandy, but people need to eat.

How about if someone says they missed the bottom of the market due to lack of due diligence? Please tell us you don't misunderstand that to mean they "thought the market is going up."
Because if you are as blithering, lost and confused as coming to either of those conclusions would confirm you'd have to be to do so, then you can't be allowed to roam the streets on your own. You need 24/7 caretaker supervision.

Posts: 5465Trump, man of Peace, not War
See, that's why Trump wanted to fire missiles into our southern border ally country and bomb it, call out USA Military troops to shoot USA protesters and, eventually, incite a violent, cop-killing Insurrection against America, whipping up and urging his America-hating mob to "fight like hell and never give up or you lose your country" and have our military wage a Civil War against USA citizens at the Capitol.
Because, you know, he is a "genius" who understands how bad war is for the economy:
Esper says Trump proposed launching missiles into Mexico to destroy drug labs
May 5, 2022
https://thehill.com/policy/defense/3...roy-drug-labs/
According to Esper, Trump raised the idea of bombing the drug labs at least twice in the summer of 2020. Trump told Esper the U.S. should shoot missiles into Mexico to destroy the drug labs.
They dont have control of their own country, Trump told Esper, according to the Times review of the memoir.
When Esper objected, Trump responded no one would know it was us and we could just shoot some Patriot missiles and take out the labs, quietly.
Esper at first assumed it was a joke but thought otherwise as he looked at the president, according to The Times.
...
Trump had threatened to deploy active-duty troops to address the protests, but Esper came out against the proposal publicly, drawing the presidents ire.

You are so stupid you think that who is president matters with the stock market. As Buffett says when interest rates go up, stocks have to come down. In fact, the market decline is not due to declining earnings at all. It is all due to multiple contraction, and you have no clue what I am talking about.
The next step will be a decline in earnings due to an increase in costs. Some companies have been honest about it, and others have not been.
With you, multiple contractions and earnings misses have nothing to do with stock prices. The only thing that matters with stock prices in your world is who is president, and that is why you are a fool.

Yeah, he'll probably win that Repub primary again. Especially now that Repubs know his sterling historic record and penchant for producing truly horrific across-the-board results for America. They love that. It's the only thing they know how to do and want to do.

What was Trump's excuse for the broad USA stock market closing into a Bear Market in 2018? Or rather, what was your excuse for it?

Posts: 5465Yep, two dots are too many for Elvis 2008 to connect
Perfect example of Elvis 2008's inability to connect even two huge dots on a subject he desperately claims to be knowledgeable:
Elvis 2008 concluded this in response to my stating multiple times that my couple of moves in, out and back into the stock market over the decades worked out well for me but it was not a perfect record since I missed a couple of market tops under Bush2 and Trump that in my judgement were not subject to reasonable due diligence:
You meant that when you thought the market was going down you did not go short? No, that does not surprise me at all. You are as big an amateur as our president.
Therefore, to have "missed a market top" by not having done "due diligence" would be clearly understood by even most novices in stock market trading and investing to mean I most certainly did not "think the market was going down" as from a "market top" in those particular cases.
Um, see if I'd "thought the market was going down" then that had to mean the exact opposite of what I stated multiple times about those cases took place.
Just two dots to connect. Huge ones. I pointed to them multiple times here. But Elvis 2008 couldn't connect them re a subject he claims to know something about.
