For the bar scene, an App replacement is just not going to work. The whole point of being in a bar, is to watch several girls concurrently, scantily clad, if clad at all, and decide if 1 in 40 appeals. Following that, call girl over for a chat, touch her, decide if she still really appeals or if the chemistry is not right, and then try another one.

How to replace all this with an App? Are we going to see the girls dancing naked on the App unshopped, and get to have a conversation with them? Why would be want to see girls in virtual if we can be in with them for real?

A major point for a massage shop is that small rooms are provided to fuck in. Without those there could be a large shortage of ST Hotel rooms.

An App has to make something simpler, quicker, easier, more reliable, and cheaper, and to be successful right? It is not so easy to achieve all those things. So have to find the right niche.

I actually made that map quite some time ago, it was in response to the specific question many guys have when trying to find the two cheap brothels on that road that have been referenced many times in the CM forum but are a bit of a pain to find. The context was clearly referenced in the original post.

To clarify, there are (or were, that was 2011,) two "lady houses" there which cater mainly to low income Thai clientele (tuk tuk drivers, etc.) but are open and friendly to farang. As I recall the prices were 500-650 baht for ST. The facilities are not what you might call high end, if you can't tolerate a cold shower and slum-level bedding, skip it. On the other hand, they're cheap, friendly, and can be fun if you want a change of pace from the fishbowls. Good luck, and happy mongering.

I am very much into the FL / SW scene. But I am picky with SW, fortunately, in BKK and other asian big cities, quality can be found on the sidewalks, whether they are heading to or from a bar, or just moonlighting, as most of the FL at Sukhumvit Soi 7 Beergarden do.

In CM this year, 2016, I do recall seeing glamorous FL's lounging on, or in, tuk tuks near Duangtawan and Le Meridien Hotel fronts. This was some months ago and they seem to have gone. However, I also read Arthur Ticks post about police entrapment, and wonder if these were that set up? They seemed a bit incongruent, looking really nice in party frocks and the like, think AV idol style, chatting with scummy looking tuk tuk driver / pimp / cops?

I'm sure they don't otherwise we would see much more FLs roaming the streets and "normal" bars.

What you want is now taking place on various social media: ThaiFriendly, Date-in-Asia, Line and the like. Make contact there and then meet in a normal bar.

It's not really the prerogative of the girls, they are not raised to think outside the box, ANY box, here.

There is also the inherent danger for a SW in a 'smaller' town like CM, where women are not on the sidewalks as much after dark as they are in downtown capital city asia. And of course the small handful of nice bars and hotels in CM would soon recognise the girls faces, and drive them out onto the street again.

Once the app (NOT smooci which is an escort front-end only) is created to allow freelancers to connect, it will be a game changer.

All the apps you mention are not designed for the sex industry, and they are hit and miss, as Arthur Tick described.

The problem I face with 'dating' sites, apart from the fact that I am not a holidaymaker looking for a 'guide' (another ruse, where, yes, they will take you around on their motosai, and hope to be the very well rewarded guide-with-benefits) is that my Mea has single friends on there, who would bust me if they saw my smiling horny face on Thai-whatever.

If the right app was there, the girls would certainly use it, instead of showing up at a bar night after night, taking pot-luck with drunk punters, and pickling their own livers, as the peer pressure to drink, and smoke is strong.

I was in Chiang Mai for the Yi Peng / Loi Krathong festival from Nov. 13 to 17. I went to Celeb MP twice. The prices posted are still good. On the first night, I went around 10:30 PM. There was only one 1700 bt girl who was quite chubby. I chose an early 30's 1400 bt girl who was quite slim and pretty. I got the standard drill and was happy with the experience.

Two nights later I returned around 8 PM. The lineup was a bit better. I chose a 1700 bt girl. The service was similar to the previous girl. The only difference was the ages of the girls. Happy mongering.

When I first came to Thailand for mongering 25 years ago. I had a buddy who was Khee Niaow Mak Maak (super stingy) and he always had tales of looking for super cheap girls in Chiang Mai for 50 baht to 100 Baht, and I could never understand why he needed the cheapest possible, and how it was so thrilling.

I was also here 25 years plus ago and during those times it was a completely different scene in Chiang Mai. It was possible to pull a piece of Asian street meat for 50 baht and some of those girls had motorbikes and would pull up besides Farangs walking in the street and offer themselves to them. But it was high risk, many of my then Farang acquaintances died of AIDs as did many of those street girls. In fact the AIDS problem became such a big epidemic that they were dropping like flies and another reason why I would not go with a street girl, especially the ladyboys, it is well known that a high percentage of them are HIV positive, but anyway LBs have never been my thing. The SpotLite girls were 400 baht ST back then, bar fine about 200 baht, plus there were takeaway girls available all over the city, even what became the Computer Plaza started out as a brothel.

About 6 years ago I visited one of these places in Chiang Mai with an American friend, can't remember which one it was now.

I do speak reasonable Thai and yet the moment my friend and I walked in there the staff and the only 2 available girls stared at us as if we just arrived from the planet Mercury.

I chose a girl, it was dirt cheap only 300 baht. Was taken to a room on the fourth floor of a nearby building that looked like it was going to be a block of apartments but was never completed. As I walked into the room the floor was covered with unused and used condoms, like it hadn't been cleaned for weeks. Girl got on the bed, would only take her undies off, all the rest stayed on. I undressed, jumped on the bed next to the girl and the first thing that struck me was that the bed stunk of cats p*ss. The girl just laid there with no expression on her face, opened her legs ready for the fuck but no kissing and no other touching allowed, she just pushed me away.

After a couple of minutes I was almost throwing up from the rancid stench of cats p*ss I had to stop was feeling physically sick, got off the bed, got dressed, paid the girl and left. When I arrived home I could smell the strong odour of the cats p*ss on my body and remember spending 40 minutes under the shower to get rid of the smell.

That was the first and last time I visited those places and never again.

Took a stroll up here today as was in the mood for some cheap and seedy fun.

Went into what I assume is the place. White frontage with black circle and no other signs.

The whole place fell silent when I walked in and people seemed to shocked that I had walked in. There were a number of girls sat about but none paid me any attention whatsoever. Tried to speak to the girl behind the bar who knew zero english and by the looks of it there was no one there at all who knew any English.

Didn't really find the place at all welcoming, maybe I caught it on a bad day and to be fair I know only very basic Thai.

One does still exist and the prices are 400 and 500 baht ST (includes girl, barfine and room! Depending on the lady, although some might try to get 600 baht if you are a first timer. I visit them about twice a month and have taken about 10 girls there. Some were very very pretty, very young and a little bit shy (with CBJ), although these girls do not stay there very long. One girl was sent back downstairs before the deed as she would only get naked and lie on the bed with no touching allowed. And I do have repeated business with a little girl named "La", not the cutest but a 5/6 out of 10 by my standards, slim, nice breasts, average face, but a great kisser, all positions allowed, and a nice BBBJCIM finish on every occasion. She's one of the 500 baht girls. I give her 600 because she's that great in bed!

The two papasan are very friendly, the oldest even speaks decent English and I've never felt unwelcome. He gave me his telephone number, so I can now check if La is available before I go.

The place is a little bit weird and I wasn't 100% confident on my first visit. But now the girls know me and call "Laaaaaa" when they see me come 555. It's also possible to go up with two girls, I was offered that possibility a few times.

Hope they will stay in business as it is one of a rare breed now in Chiangmai!

I was in just yesterday and it was very busy on a Tuesday at 2 pm. Not a lot of girls when I first walked in, but several started showing up. There were probably 20 punters on the couches weighing their options. Looked like all locals. There were maybe 20 girls there at first, but the numbers were going up by the time I left. I grabbed a girl for 1500. I forget how the numbers work there, but she didn't provide massage or slide. She told me that she had just come up from Bangkok because she didn't have enough customers there over the last 2 weeks. We all know why. Apparently the sallies in Chiang Mai haven't been affected as much. She said a lot of girls have come up also to work temporarily. So that's probably the reason for the increase in numbers and quality that was reported a few days back.

The service from my Issan girl was slightly above average. She wasn't into DFK, but loved DATY. She wasn't mechanical either. Decent enough GFE. She offered two pops, but I didn't go for it. She said "you no like me", 555! She was really pretty, but once the dress came off there was some baby damage. A little bit of stretch marks, and a baby zipper. She said she was 28. For 1500, I wasn't disappointed. On the way out there about 7 models hat weren't there before. They all looked really stunning! I should have stopped to ask the pricing. I'm going to make another trip to find out.

Is there any sign of nightlife entertainment in Chiang mai?

Yes there is. The places in the Loi Kroh Road are open but music is off or on low volume. I visited two "soapy massage" parlors. First the Celeb and there were some, not many but some, nice looking girls there. I was in a hurry and didn't check the "models" but opted for a standard girl. The day after I went to the Sayuri Complex. OMG. Way more girls and the high end girls there are truly high end. Amazingly beautiful and very nice in the room.

Interesting Map. Not sure why he has only Thai script for names of some places: Duean Phen (Full Moon) night club and also Dee Jai Karaoke.

Perhaps because his spelling is a bit off:
Loh Kroh should be Loi Kroh, of course. Kroh sounds like Crop without the P.
NimmanHeimann should be NimmanHaemin (sounds like Nim-Marn-Hey-Min). He must be German to use Heimann (not very close). LOL. I imagine shortening to Nimmarn would be adequate.
Correct vowel sounds are very important in Thai (not in English).

Over the last few years I have noticed there has been a discrete change of the staffing of women in the Chiang Mai massage parlors. It has now evolved into a 4 tier system.

1: Average massage parlors in and around town. Staffed by middle aged and old ladies.

2: Loi Kroh Road and close by areas low grade youngish women mostly geared up for quick happy endings some demanding up to 1200 baht for HJ excluding a so-called massage that can over and done within minutes.

3: Young more desirable girls that 7 years ago and before used to staff the average massage parlors as standard have now moved on to separate parlors sometimes calling themselves B2 B that can charge from 1500 baht up to 3000 baht for massage and HJ, and again can all be over and done with in minutes.

4: So-called soapy massage parlors where hardly anyone receives a massage, fast and furious mechanical service can charge from 1200 baht up to 3000 baht usually over in 40 minutes.

So if searching in and around town for massage parlors that are staffed by pretty girls you will be hard pushed to find any in the standard massage parlors. Big business has taken over and the women have been graded into categories according to age and looks, the higher the scale from 1 to 10 the more they charge.

The scene has really changed in Chiang Mai.

I don't think there are enough long time farang residents in Chiang Mai to make it economically worthwhile to run a "BJ only" service.

Going back 20 odd years, there were BJ services in Chiang Mai. If seeing a hairdresser's with all female staff and the shop window painted over black, was an indication that not only a blow dry but also a blow job was available. I tried many of those hairdressers and at the time a blow job cost no more than 200 baht, 100 baht in some places and all were young desirable girls.

Taking into consideration there were a lot less residential Farangs in the city 20 years ago than there are now, I don't accept that there are not enough customers to warrant the service and I believe it's the clampdowns that put a stop to this.
