Where you have a Wi-Fi (almost everywhere) I think in Thailand too, you con just send the mails to yourself. In an anonym mail or sosre them as recieved mails. It's quite simple.


But of course the suggestion is:
Make your Hard Core photos, send them and cancel your card... mind that the best way to cancel a card (you might have some spare cards with nothing is format them, make some pictures, format them again, make some pictures and format them again.

If you simply format the card Once every card rescue software from sundisk or another company will read the pics in any case... Could be good if you travel with a PC to upload old pics on it do you rewrite...

What do you guys do when you have risque photos on the camera's memory card? Do you transfer the photos to a blank disk? I was thinking of getting mobile me from mac so I could dump them before I reach customs. Would they print out with the same quality as if I had them on my memory card?

Maybe this is overkill but what happens if customs turns on your camera and nude photos of several women show up?

The safest thing to do is to have online storage. Once you take the photos, upload them directly to the online storage, then format the sd card. (don't even save onto your laptop)

Keep at least some vacay px though. Totally empty card looks suspicious.

You can often solve computer problems by removing the power for 30 seconds or so.

Same with cameras. Take the battery out. An expensive camera usually has a small hidden extra battery to maintain its clock and settings while you change the big battery. Take it out, too, for at least 30 seconds. When you put both batteries back you will have to reset the clock.

If you have a small, cheap digital camera, it may not have a removable hidden small battery. If taking out its regular battery for 30 seconds does not solve your problem, try leaving the battery out for three weeks or more. That will discharge the hard-wired clock maintaining battery inside. See your manual!

I think you are right, but I'll remove the memory card and look if any button is blocked in a "pressed" position... otherwise if all this do not work.... I do not think that going to assistance is worth the money.... sorry!

I am having a problem with my Sony Cybershot DSC-T1. Once I turn it on it brings me to the time set menu. Then I am unable to set the time. No matter what I press it is locked.

Any help? I have tried google/yahoo and so on, but nothing real information turn up. Any help will be appreciated.

Isn't depth of field dependent on the diaphragm aperture and not of the focal length ?

If you have an APS sensor format refelx (most ones) for shooting our friends the best way is usually this...

a) use a semi wide angle objective, possibly sabilized, I found the Canon 17-85 IS quite good. But other manufacturers have equivalent things.

b) for indoor use a 400 ASA sensivity (in a good sensor there is quite few difference between 100 and 400).

c) uplight all the lights of the room, use a directional flash towards the cieling (if you have a setable flash put it at -1/3)

d) use a 5,6 - 7,3 or even 8 and a time of 1/20 or 1/15 that should go and be good... with a IS lens... faster is good in any case...

e) of course you need a good subject too...

It's dependent upon both. Actually, it's quite a complex issue, as it also relates to the distance from the camera. In general:

smaller aperture means greater depth of field

shorter focal length means greater depth of field

longer distance from subject means greater depth of field.

All three of these issues are interrelated as well, as altering one factor typically involves altering the others as well.
