If you need to be in Los Angeles you are better off leaving now. If not, my choice would be to stay put and avoid the airport and flights, but I am a Centro rat.

Apologies for jumping on the COVID-19 bandwagon, but I'm curious as to what type of advice I can get from this community.

I am scheduled to fly back to the US on Wednesday.

I have a stop in PTY, on the way to LAX.

I live in a high-rise in another metropolitan area.

I can work remotely.

Can anyone provide a strong argument as to why I wouldn't just extend my stay in Medellin? I'm not worried about contracting / surviving, as much as I am just returning to chaos, and having to live a miserable existence until things calm down. I agree that we will likely see a spike in Colombia, as testing becomes more available. However, I can walk down the street to Exito, and buy enough supplies / food for a month, for $200. I can rent long-term for very cheap. I can use Uber to get around, or walk. If things start getting whacky, or the general public starts to live in fear, I would probably select a couple girls to be exclusive with in the interim.

I agree with you except for the part about testing. Positive or negative result the best practice is the same and there is no treatment or cure. Avoid crowds and practice good hygiene until it's over. No visits to the estadio for me anytime soon.

Read what MB posted. Given the lack of testing, we will get our life back to normal sooner if we all follow the advice to reduce the spread of the virus.

I read American Airlines cancelled flights to Colombia / South America. I would imagine that the dominoes will fall, starting tomorrow. So, I should probably make a decision, today.

If I was you I would not get on a plane, a bus, or a ship, or any other mass transportation system.

This sis certainly not directed at any poster or reader but everyone needs to consider this. I have talked to a number of people who are not taking this thing serious enough, I am not a disease expert but I was a nursing student and had to study microbiology with a focus on prevention of spreading disease. It seems hard for people to grasp, but all the idiots who "throw caution to the wind" thinking they are so "brave" and ignoring the recommendations are the ones who become mindless vectors of the disease. Carriers - transmitters of the disease. They can cough politely into their sleeve but then scratch and itch on their face and then push an elevator button, or a door handle and the 70 year old / or the 70 year old man's maid touches it also and takes it back the 70 year old man. Meanwhile the mindless vector is completely unaware that they are literally killing people.

I talked to a guy who was on an American flight from Miami today. They announced the schedule change after boarding all passengers. He is coming later. I helped him book am Avianca return for next week. Of course it could get cancelled. Guys, there is no treatment for Coronavirus. That means the Colombian treatment is no better or worse than any other, which is nothing more than waiting and hoping. If you have other health problems my advice is stay close to your doctors.

American Airlines just announced the cancellation of all flights to and from Colombia beginning on about March 16, until May 6th.

Actually it's not just Colombia, but most of South America, including my beloved Rio de Janeiro.

You made the right decision for you. I will be busy the next couple of weeks but I will try to share some Intel time permitting.

I just flew from Medellin to Bogota and arrived at 9 AM and went thru immigration / security and there were no lines, as I have a 12 PM flight to LOS Angeles in business class I went into the Avianca Lounge which has two sides, one regular and one diamond class. When I got to the entrance it appeared closed, but wasn't, and there was one attendant who said I could use either side while waiting for my flight. I walked into the Diamond side and there weren't more than about five people. At this point I decided to take my N95 respirator mask off and looked around and at the regular side as well. I had never seen this place so empty all the times I had flown thru Bogota and went and talked with the attendant, she said normally on a Sunday at 9 AM there would be at least 100 people in the lounges.

On Saturday I spent three blissful hours in El Centro with one of my darlings, my mouth was watering on the flight from Medellin to Bogota as to how sexy and beautiful two of the flight attendants were, and now I am going to be arriving into a firestorm and God knows when I can return to Colombia.

Lots of bantering back and forth about the CoronaVirus, and it's serious beyond belief based on the facts and number. I previously posted that if your not established in Colombia you should get out ASAP. I am established in Colombia and could of easily stayed but am getting out. Colombia will be shutting it's borders down to more and more Countries along with the USA very soon, and although I am an American, and not happy with the delay our Government took to take action, I believe Colombia versus the USA is less better equipped to handle massive community spread of the virus if it occurs, along with the potential for civil unrest.

If you are not a permanent resident or a citizen you will not be allowed in after today. If you are already here or arriving today viva and avianca are operating without interruption through May when the US carriers are scheduled to resume operations.

I'm planing to go to Medellin in the next a few weeks. I don't have much concern about the coronavirus, the risk is too low for people in my age group, this is a chance I'm willing to take. I expect gusto, la isla, and paradise to shutdown; I have lined up my favorite fb girls, I don't plan to try new girls while I'm there. I think 12 fb girl rotation is sufficient for a two-week stay.

I believe they will always let US citizens back to the US. The way I see it, if I don't come to Medellin now, the Colombia government might start a travel ban to the US. I don't feel you need to live in centro to get to centro. Laureles has quite a few casas, spas and many prepagos. Really safe and active area to stay. Centro is a 10 minute drive, $2 taxi ride. Take it from me though, the street Walker action and sorting through the grime is not worth the many laps necessary to find something, but it is entertaining to visit and good local food. New life and other casa, strip clubs. Casas in the area might be a better chase. Only been to new life and highly recommended it.

what's the best 25.00 a night hotel in Centro that is girl friendly.

Keep in mind people love to say they have been with 7's and 10's. If you find one on the streets of centro please call me LOL. You find 7's and 10's, at la Isla, false dos, gustos, Lleras park, walking the streets in residential areas, and places similar to those venues. 17 days here and that's my limited experience and take on a few things.

People are also saying the the girls who work at El Centro also work at Lleras park.

I want a apartment with hot water and furniture. How much would I pay for a normal studio with all creature comforts. Also if not Poblado where would you stay that's a good value. No way I'm bringing girls to a hostel. I didn't say it had to be 100 a month. Can I get something nice for 300 dollars. Also what does no home game mean.

No home game means you can't bring a girl back to a shared dorm room at a hostel.

Here's some helpful advice, not just for you, for everyone:

If you're asking about doing something, lay out as much information as you can. What are your priorities, in order? What is your real budget? What are your tolerances?

Your first request just mentioned a low price. If that's your primary concern, a hostel is tough to beat. If mongering is your primary concern, spend $2000-$3000 per month for a serious shag pad. Girls will be lining up to come see you.

I just found a furnished apt in Laureles, 900 k per month, but it's only 161 ft². Small hotel room size. Minimal everything and furniture looks sad. There are other options, but how well are you going to tolerate a neighborhood like Buenos Aires? Or Popular?

The trouble is, you're looking for US style living on a Colombian budget. The Colombians paying $200-$300 monthly for rent don't have hot water. They have a stovetop but no oven. Their furniture is cheap and uncomfortable. No washing machine. Instead there's a sink, with a built-in scrub board.

If you want gringo standards, you need to pay gringo prices.

That's curious. I was booking a flight this morning without a problem. I just tried again and flights are showing available.

I have been waiting to book and just got a notice of a big price drop. My opinion is, they'll still let you book and take your money, even though the flight will be cancelled.

If they don't let you book now, you might choose another airline later. Once they have your money, they have leverage. More importantly, they are still bringing in revenue while their costs are dropping.

Looks like my April trip is getting postponed.
