The industrial city in the Ural region has the not so great honor of being the subject of a new book publish in English recently. "Putin Country, journey to real Russia. ".

From punting standpoint I would not recommend this city. Far too big to navigate, more than a million people, lots of rough looking men, as the major industry in the city is steel making which employs lot of men.

In short, Chelyabinsk is the opposite of Ivanovo. Although I didn't see many potential brides in Ivanovo, at least the men seem gentler and less threatening there. In Chelyabinsk not only men seem rough looking, there are many migrant men from Central Asia or Caucasus. Even the local Slavic Russians think these migrant Muslim dudes are rough.

Did venture to a sauna where the mamasan could order escorts for their clients. A minivan came, out came 4 girls, none of them score more than a 5, but they only cost 2500 rubles and if you're drunk, one could do worse.

My impression of the girls in the city is that they are also less genteel and simple than their sisters in the Golden Ring. Chelyabinsk is a much larger city, blue collar in character which they are very proud of. Guys look rough and women look slutty.

Would not recommend the city but at least the Vidgof hotel is excellent. Highly recommend it. Stayed there a few times and the best looking also happened to be best English speaking front desk girl whom I saw the first time there left town for the US of A. I was told later on as I didn't see here again in my subsequent stays.

The breakfast buffet at the hotel had several cute 18 year old girls (or 17, not sure) working the first time I stayed there. The quality of the buffet girls also got worse and worse when I stayed there later times.

Therefore I go back to my points in previous posts that Russia is no longer a good mongering destination if one purely comes for sex. The best looking Russian girls (make no mistake, they are the ones the most motivated to learn English as they know they will be able to fetch highest market value in the West) already left Russia or are in the process of doing so.

Some might want to practice English with you but they will not do more with you. I think someone also posted the same point on the forum. That the girls are interested in foreigners only in an intellectual kind of way.
